Our tyres were designed and developed to meet the needs of your customers who are looking for reliable products for all uses. KORMORAN tyres boast technology and industrial know-how which is demonstrated on a daily basis across Europe. Thanks to their design and manufacturing quality (steel radial casing), they can be regrooved and retreaded. With a view to offering you the best quality, our products are manufactured in our European plants which are certified ISO (environmental management standard) and ISO/TS (quality management standard) and meet the requirements of the REACH regulations on chemicals and their safe use. 14 REGROOVING TYRES Regrooving involves restoring tyre tread patterns in order to travel further with increased grip. European regulation stipulates that all new tyres designed to be regrooved must feature the regroovable marking on the two sidewalls. All KORMORAN truck tyres are regroovable. REGROOVING Tyres can be regrooved when between 3 and 4 mm of tread remains. Each tread pattern has a specific regrooving plan (see table below). TOOLS Only use R-type rounded blades. Comply with the blade reference (R3, R4, etc.) indicated for each tread pattern. PRECAUTIONS Do not regroove any deeper than the recommended depth. Regrooving that is too deep can: Allow plies at the bottom of the tread to appear, which is not permitted by the legislation. Damage the tyre structure and result in the premature destruction of the tyre. Compromise retreading. Cause the metallic plies to rust, resulting in the tyre failing suddenly when driving. In addition to the brand s quality strategy, this environmental approach makes it possible to consider environmental concerns throughout the manufacturing process. Every production worker plays a key role in the environmental policy. REGROOVABILITY AND RETREADABILITY All KORMORAN tyres are regroovable and retreadable and therefore contribute to sustainable development. KORMORAN implements concrete actions on a daily basis with a view to mitigating its environmental footprint. This involves increasing the lifespan of its tyres to reduce the number to be processed at the end of their service life, as well as selecting basic materials with the lowest environmental impact. As a result, KORMORAN is committed to the growth of an efficient recycling industry with a view to processing tyres at the end of their service life.
