1 CASING TIPPERS CASING TIPPERS FOR SPECIAL PURPOSE WHEELED CONTAINERS BTM/250/1450/B/G CASING TIPPERS DESCRIPTION The Casing Tippers were supplied to lift and tip a Special Purpose Wheeled Container (600 x 400 x 200mm) of casings into a vibratory finishing machine at a discharge height of 1450mm. The Casing Tippers were constructed from mild steel with a powder coated finish in the BAE Systems livery colour RAL5001 and were designed to be bolted to the floor. Lifting with the Casing Tippers was achieved by a ¾ Simplex chain driven by a motor gearbox mounted at the top of the main column. The Casing Tippers lift carriages were fitted with guide chutes to direct the casings into the CB600 vibrator without any spillage. Casing Tippers for Special Purpose Wheeled Containers

3 SAFETY GUARD TO PD 5304 SAFETY OF MACHINERY The safety guard is constructed from 40 x 40 x 3mm box section and 3mm wire, 40mm aperture weld mesh to meet the guidelines of PD 5304 Safety of Machinery. It encloses the Casing Tippers to a height of 2200mm on both sides, with a hinged guard door through which the bin is loaded. The guard door is electrically and mechanically interlocked preventing the Casing Tippers from operating when the door is open. Additionally, the guard door can only be opened when the lift carriage is at the full down position to prevent access whilst a load is raised. ELECTRICAL CONTROL The Casing Tippers are fitted with an IP65 Control Panel which is mounted on the safety guard. The control panel incorporates the following controls; Start, Guard Release, Emergency Stop and a Reset Facility. The Casing Tippers operation sequence was as follows:- The operator will load a bin that will be sensed by a proximity sensor The safety guard door will be closed which will energise the safety relay The operator will then press the Start button which will give an output to your control system that the tipper is loaded and ready to go Your control system will give the tipper a call to run signal when required The tipper will lift to the intermediate limit switch position and this limit switch will trigger the tipping cycle operation The tipping cycle will be controlled by a Siemens Logo to allow a gradual discharge Once the tipper reaches the full up position, it will pause before returning to the full down position At this position, the Guard Release can be operated, the guard door opened and the empty bin removed

The Casing Tippers were used to load casings from a special purpose wheeled container into a range of Vibratory Finishing Systems.
