3 CentriFlow 3D - Technical Catalouge GMEB 3 General Description and survey chart Application The CentriFlow 3D plug fan range is a complete fan assembly to be used in Air Handling Units. The fan is available in 12 sizes and covers air flow up to 16 m 3 /s ( m 3 /h) and pressure rises up to 2500 Pa. The fan is equipped with standard IE2 or IE3 class AC-motors which are driven by a frequency converter using either 0-10 V input or the MODBUS-RTU interface for communication. Fan is ready to be used - plug and play - and all cabling is done between motor and drive. 4 4 GMEB CentriFlow 3D - Technical Catalouge General and Design Description Quality and environment All components are designed and manufactured in accordance with applicable standards including the quality assurance system ISO 9001, the environmental management system ISO and the Energy Directive 2009/125/EC and all Directives related to CE-marking. Available versions In CentriFlow 3D GMEB the same impeller is available with a standard AC motor (IE2 or IE3 class) with different drive arrangements, see below. DESIGN DESCRIPTION Fan impeller The impeller is made of aluminium. The hollow section airfoil blades are made of extruded aluminium profile and are welded to impeller front and back plate. The leading edges of blades are inclined and the blades are backward curved. Number of blades is six (6). Hub Built-on drive Loose drive The hub is made of die casted aluminium in sizes and in sizes of steel. is fastened to hub by using a keyway and fastening screws. bracket and base frame The motor bracket is made of galvanized sheet steel or of welded sheet steel and painted with 60 µm thick epoxy powder paint. 5 CentriFlow 3D - Technical Catalouge GMEB 5 Design Description Fan inlet The fan inlet is designed to optimize the flow into the impeller. The inlet is deep-drawn in one piece and made of galvanized sheet steel. Air flow sensor The inlet is equipped with an air flow sensor as standard. It is used for measuring the air flow through the impeller. As standard there are two measurement nipples and four measurement nipples are available as accessory. When a fan is in Air Handling Unit, the differential pressure Δp m shall be measured between the static pressures in the suction side plenum and air flow sensor. The air flow is calculated as a function of the measurement pressure difference Dp m with the coefficient k as a parameter by using the following formula: CentriFlow 3D GMEB fans are supplied with -standard IE2 or IE3 motors. 6 6 GMEB CentriFlow 3D - Technical Catalouge SPEED CONTROLLERS, OPERATION PANEL, CABLING Speed controller All GMEB fans using AC-motors shall be normally used with speed controller. Direct connection on mains is allowed but it needs to be checked if fan power is big enough for connection directly to the mains. All fan-motor combinations are tested at the factory before the delivery. Loose speed controller can be mounted nearby the fan, e.g on the side panel of air handling unit. A screened cable of 3.5 m (sizes ) or 4.5 m (size ) is included in the delivery and connected on the motor side. Built-on arrangement is ready to be used and only requires power from mains and control signals. Specification for different speed controllers and wiring diagrams are to be found at the end of this catalogue. Loose speed controller is delivered with 3,5 m or 4,5 m long screened motor cable Please note: 1. If the speed controller is disconnected from the motor cable please remember to ground the shield 360 when rewiring. 2. If the motor cable needs to be replaced by a longer one the new cable must be of screened type. Please remember to ground the shield 360º when rewiring. 3. cable should be no longer than 20 m.
