Street Address signs a. For each parcel and for each tenant space, signs for the official street address shall be displayed for public safety and traffic circulation purposes only, and to serve as a visible street address for 911 purposes, delivery of mail and official government notification, and shall be posted as provided in Seminole County Code Section i. For a parcel in residential use, the street address sign shall not exceed two (2) square feet in sign area. 1. The street address sign may only be externally illuminated. ii. For a parcel in non-residential use, the street sign shall not exceed four (4) square feet in sign area. 1. The street address sign may be externally or internally illuminated. 2. Signs in Residential zoning districts a. Total sign area- May not exceed 6 square feet. b. Off premises signs are prohibited. c. Flags- Permitted in all zoning districts, provided that no premises shall display more than three flags. No permit required 3. Signs in Commercial, Office, Institutional and Industrial zoning districts a. Permitted Signs- Ground, Façade and Window Signs b. Total Allowable Sign Area Formula for the Entire Site (aggregate of Ground and Façade signs) (Corner units can only use one building elevation in figuring allowable copy area as determined by the address.) i. Premises improved with buildings. 1. Single Tenant buildings: 2 square feet for each linear foot of building frontage along roadway 2. Multi-Tenant Buildings: 2 square feet for each linear foot of building frontage where the primary entrance is located. a. Additional Floors- One (1) square foot for each linear foot of building frontage. ii. Premises not improved with buildings. 1. Any premises not improved with a building may display ground signs with an aggregate sign area of two (2) square feet for each linear foot of building frontage which would be allowed to be developed under the ULDRs. c. Maximum Number of Signs i. Grounds Signs 1. Primary Roadway Lot Frontage: a feet: One (1) sign is allowed. b feet: Two (2) signs are allowed. c. Greater than 701 feet: Three (3) signs are allowed. 2. If more than one ground sign is allowed all signs shall be monument signs with a 300 foot separation between signs. ii. Façade Signs 1. Exterior access ground floor or multi-access buildings: a. There is no limit on the number of façade signs on the ground floor of a building or on additional floors of a multi-story building with

2 exterior access; provided however that the maximum allowed square footage for all façade signs shall not be exceeded. Sign area is determined by the smallest square, rectangle, (etc) to encompass the display. 2. Interior Access multi-story buildings: a. A single sign above the ground floor level is allowed. iii. Ingress & Egress Signs 1. Commercial Centers a. Each premises may have a maximum of two (2) ingress and egress signs at entrances except premises with a two (2) roadway frontages may have four (4) ingress and egress signs at entrances. 2. Subdivisions a. One (1) egress and ingress sign is permitted at each subdivision entrance. b. These signs may be located in any zoning districts; provided, however, that the development is a permitted or approved use in such a district. Such signs shall be not be located nearer than 25 feet from any intersection of any street rights-of-way. c. These signs shall not exceed a total 48 square feet of sign area or a maximum height of 15 feet above the elevation of the crown of the road adjacent to the sign structure location. d. Maximum Height i. Ground Signs: Fifteen (15) feet above the crown of the road. ii. Façade Signs: The lower of the roof line or the fascia. iii. Ingress & Egress Signs: Four (4) feet above the crown of the road. e. Maximum Sign Size i. Ground Signs: May not exceed 100 square feet. ii. Façade Signs: 1. Single tenant (single or multi-story building) May not exceed 350 square feet. 2. Multi-tenant building: a. Single story buildings - Not to exceed 250 square feet for an individual tenant. b. Multi-story buildings: i. First floor Not to exceed 250 square feet for an individual tenant. ii. Additional floors: 1. Exterior Access - One (1) square foot of signage per each linear foot of building frontage for each unit; not to exceed 150 square feet for an individual unit. 2. Interior Access Regardless of the number of stories, façade copy above the ground floor level may not exceed 150 square feet. iii. Window Signs: 1. Window signs shall not count against total allowable copy area if they are permanently attached. 2. Total area of all window signs shall not exceed 25% of the total glass areas of the window on which they are placed. On-Premises Temporary Sign Regulations (Section ) 1. Registration. Temporary signs DO NOT require a building permit, however ALL Temporary Commercial Message Signs, except signs on property for sale or lease, must be registered on a form supplied by the Community Development Department. A registration fee of $4.00 is required for each sign

3 2. Duration for Display of Temporary Sign. If a temporary sign pertains to an event, the temporary sign shall be removed within and by no later than seven (7) calendar days after the event is concluded. If a temporary commercial sign does not pertain to an event, the temporary sign shall be removed within and by no later than thirty (30) days after being erected. 3. Display of Temporary Sign Requires Permission of Real Property Owner. A temporary sign on any parcel shall not be maintained if the placement of the same does not have the permission of the owner of real property. 4. A Temporary Sign May Not Display Any Lighting and Must Remain Static. A temporary sign may not display any lighting or illuminations of any kind, especially those that flash, move, rotate, scintillate, blink, flicker, or vary in intensity of color. 5. A Temporary Sign May Not Incorporate Fluorescent Color or Exhibit Fluorescence. 6. A Temporary Sign May Not Obstruct A Permanent Sign or the Vision Between Pedestrians and Vehicles. A temporary sign may not obstruct the view of a permanent sign as viewed from any public road, street or highway or any public sidewalk, and may not obstruct the vision between pedestrians and vehicles using the public right-of-way, including, but not restricted to, those meeting intersection visibility requirements. 7. Temporary Sign May Display Multiple Messages. A temporary sign may display multiple independent messages on any portion of the sign surface of a temporary sign. 8. Removal Responsibility. The removal of temporary signs is the joint and several responsibility of the owner of the property upon which the sign is placed, and, if applicable, a candidate for whom such sign was placed. Trailer Signs (Section C) 1. Permit required. a. A trailer sign may not be displayed unless a permit is issued by the City of Casselberry for the trailer sign pursuant to the requirements of Section b. A permit shall not be valid for longer than a period of 30 days from the date of issuance, after which time the owner of the trailer sign or the owner of the premises shall remove the sign from the premises. A permit cannot be renewed nor can a permit be obtained for the same premises within a period of 120 days after the expiration of a permit. c. No more than two permits may be issued to the same premises in any one calendar year. In the event a trailer sign is not removed within five days after the expiration or revocation of the permit, no new permit will be issued for that premises for a period of 180 days following the removal of the trailer sign. i. Location. Trailer signs are allowed in commercial, office and industrial zoning districts. 2. Securing trailer signs. 3. Each trailer sign shall have its wheels locked so that only the person renting, leasing, owning, or providing the sign shall have the capability of unlocking the wheels. 4. Lighting. All incandescent bulbs in, on, or attached to any trailer sign shall be P. A. R.-rated outdoor lamps of not more than 100 watts; spot-type bulbs are prohibited. Animation is prohibited on all trailer signs. 5. Required label. Each trailer sign shall have permanently affixed and prominently displayed the name, business address, and phone number of the owner of the sign. 6. Number. No more than one trailer sign is permitted per premises.

A temporary commercial banner, inflatable, or feather/streamer sign is limited to a maximum duration of display of no more than thirty (30) days per calendar year per parcel. 2 The square footage limitation is per side for a back-to-back sign. For example, a four (4) square foot limitation means that there is a limit of four (4) square feet of surface area per side of a back-to-back sign, and an aggregate limit of eight (8) square feet is allowed if the sign is a back-to-back temporary sign. 3 Not applicable to signs displayed on flagpoles. 4 Minimum sign setbacks do not apply to wall signs. All Temporary Signs are prohibited on public property and public rights-of-way. 5 Not applicable to signs displayed on flagpoles. 6 There is no limit to the number of separate messages that may appear on the allowable surface(s) of any Temporary Sign.

Animated, revolving or moving signs, except that manually changeable copy signs are allowed., and a premises is allowed a maximum of two (2) static LED signs no more than 4.5 square feet with photocells that display a maximum of four characters 8. Signs that contain lighting in violation of Subsection (6), or which impair the vision of motorists or otherwise distract motorists so as to interfere with motorists' ability to safely operate their vehicles. 9. Electronic display type signs 10. Signs containing objects that digitally or electronically produce color and/or black and white images similar to a television screen. Also, multi-vision signs or display devices capable of presenting two or more separate images or ad copy sequentially by use of rotating multi-side cylinders. 11. Signs in the right-of-way. 12. Wall-wrap signs. 13. Abandoned signs; Discontinued signs. 14. Signs, other than traffic control device signs, that use the word stop or danger, or present or imply the need or requirement of stopping or the existence of danger, or which are a copy or imitation of traffic control device signs and which are adjacent to the right-of-way of any road, street, or highway 15. Signs that obstruct, conceal, hide or otherwise obscure from view any traffic control device sign or official traffic signal.
