1 Quick Reference: Deactivating Vehicles Due to finishing contract or vehicle rotation, a customer may wish to have certain vehicles removed from the Active Vehicles list. There are various ways to do this in TyreCheck, each with different outcomes. Using the For Exit Process (Web Interface) NOTE: The outcome for this process (whether the vehicle remains visible but inactive, or is removed from visibility) is configurable. Depending on your system the vehicle can be moved to Inactive Vehicles, or Archived. Archiving is a process that removes the vehicle from website visibility, but stores the details in the background. Check with your TyreCheck administrator for your system s settings. For Exit: Deactivating a Vehicle and Moving Tyres to Fleet Stock 1. Click the Vehicles tab. 2. Click the appropriate filter. 3. Enter the desired criteria. 4. Click the Add button Apply the filter. 6. Select the checkbox beside the vehicle.

2 7. Click the For Exit button Enter the Notification Date and the Exit Date. 9. Click the Save button Click the Vehicle for Exit option under Vehicle Management. 11. Locate the vehicle and click the registration number. 12. Click the Fast Inspection Input button (3.7.4), or Add Inspection and select Final Inspection (3.8.0 and above) as the inspection type. Note: A vehicle must have a final inspection performed or the system will not allow the Vehicle for Exit process.

3 13. Enter inspection details for all of the tyres, and click the Save button. The vehicle details page reloads showing the new inspection. 14. Click the Vehicles for Exit option under Vehicle Management. 15. Click the checkbox beside the vehicle. 16. Select the Transfer Tyres to Stock checkbox. 17. Click the Check button

4 Process Outcomes: The vehicle displays under Inactive Vehicles. The vehicle no longer has tyres assigned. The tyres from the vehicle have been returned to fleet stock. For Exit: Inactivating a Vehicle without Removing Tyres from Vehicle 1. Complete steps 1-14 from the previous section: For Exit: Removing a Vehicle and Moving Tyres to Fleet Stock.

5 2. Click the checkbox beside the vehicle. 3. Leave the Transfer Tyres to Stock checkbox unchecked. 4. Click the Check button Process Outcomes: The vehicle now displays under Inactive Vehicles. The vehicle still has all tyres assigned. Tyres on this vehicle remain in rolling stock.

6 Using the Delete Button (Web Interface) NOTE: The delete process is configurable and depending on your system, you may or may not be permitted to delete the vehicle while the vehicle has mounted tyres. Check with your TyreCheck administrator for your system s settings. 1. Locate a vehicle within the Vehicles module. Note: For detailed instructions on locating a vehicle, see steps 1-5 from For Exit: Removing a Vehicle and Moving Tyres to Fleet Stock. 2. Hover over the vehicle row to access the action buttons. 3. Click the Delete button. 4. Click the OK button on the warning message. Process Outcomes: If you are permitted to delete the vehicle, the vehicle displays in the Active Vehicles category. Note: Deleted pending vehicles display in Active Vehicles after the delete process. The vehicle status is set to Removed. This process occurs whether or not the vehicle has inspections or service requests.

7 Using the Archive Button: Web Interface Note: Using the Archive button results in the vehicle being removed from website visibility. Only choose to archive a vehicle if you are sure this is the action you wish to take. 1. Locate a vehicle within the Vehicles module. Note: For detailed instructions on locating a vehicle, see steps 1-5 from For Exit: Removing a Vehicle and Moving Tyres to Fleet Stock. 2. Hover over the vehicle row to access the action buttons. 3. Click the Archive button. 4. Click the Confirm button on the Archive page. Process Outcomes: Using the Archive button results in the vehicle being removed from website visibility. No data changes occur to the vehicle. The vehicle data is stored on the database and can be restored to active vehicles. Using the Delete Button: PDA Interface 1. Launch the TyreCheck application on the PDA. 2. Enter your User Code and Password. 3. Click the green Unlock button to log in.

8 4. Click the Vehicles button. 5. Select the proper Company, Fleet, and Location, and then tap the green Check button. 6. Enter a portion of the vehicle registration number, and tap the Search icon. 7. Tap the desired vehicle. 8. Tap the Vehicle button.

9 Tap into the Vehicle Detail panel. 10. Click the red Delete (Trash Can) icon. 11. Click the red Exit button. The vehicle no longer displays in the search list. 12. Click the red Exit button.

10 13. Click the red Exit button again. 14. Click the blue Sync button. 15. Log in to the Web interface and navigate to Active Vehicles.

11 16. Search for registration numbers beginning with Deleted (see below). Note: The vehicle appears in the list with the registration number prefixed with Deleted_. The vehicle status remains active. Process Outcomes: Behavior is the same whether or not the vehicle has inspections. The following system rules apply for deleting vehicles on the PDA.
