The patent also covers integration of batteries inside the pole, as well as the control electronics that govern the way the batteries are charged from the PV panel and the way the batteries are discharged to light the luminaire. The patent also covers the connection of this solar powered light pole to the grid, so that energy from the PV panel can flow to the grid during daylight hours. Self cooling design to maximize life of solid state electronics also includes anti-intrusion features for weather and pests. Components are protected with secure service access panel. Base mount or direct burial component capable. Effective Projected Area (EPA) Our EPA is calculated with the arm and luminaire only. The solar panel and components do not increase the calculation due to the unique product design. Typical Inovus Solar product EPA will be less than 3 ft 2. Microinverter Maximum energy production technology with 95.5% peak efficiency. Environmental enclosure rating: Outdoor - NEMA 6. Operating temp range of -40F to 149F. Expected life of 15 years along with a 15 year warranty. Luminaire We currently utilize a series of Inovus Solar LED luminaires.
