3 The Thomas F. Larwin documents the development of the San Diego Trolley in the early 1980s, and expansion of trolley service through the early 2000s. The collection includes news and press clippings; reports on national developments in light rail transit (LRT) systems; Metropolitan Transit Development Board (MTDB) correspondence, memoranda, and news; MTDB newsletters. Also present is a large collection of 35mm color photographs (slides) documenting the development of the San Diego Trolley from the 1980s-early 2000s, as well as photographs of other light rail transit systems from around globe. The collection also includes a wide range of San Diego Trolley related memorabilia; including service maps, service announcements, schedules, and marketing materials such as souvenir tickets, label pins, patches, and key chains.
