7 5 steps to understanding a solar and home battery system Solar Panels Capture Capture Photons (sun light) are absorbed by the solar panels on your roof. Solar panels capture the photons as Direct Current (DC) electricity. Inverter Converts Convert DC electricity cannot be used in your home and therefore needs to be converted to Alternating Current (AC), which is done by your premium inverter.
