Prospective Bidders This Addendum forms a part of the Contract Documents and modifies the original Bidding Documents dated December 7, 2014 as noted below. Acknowledge receipt of this Addendum in the space provided on the Bid Form. Failure to do so may subject the Bidder to disqualification. Response to Questions: Q: You have wall hydrants on the drawing but none on the schedule. Can any hydrant be installed or do you have a spec.? A: Refer to Addendum to the Project Drawings Q: I saw a WCB on the schedule but cannot find it in any of the drawings? A: Refer to Addendum to the Project Drawings Q: On P-101 you have 3 locations that have 2 cleanouts outside the building with 2 clean outs in front of them inside the building. Is there a purpose for these additional cleanouts or can they be removed from the scope of work? A: There are actually four (4) locations for cleanouts outside of building (not three (3). This is a request from owner, (aka aps). Q: There are no condensate lines shown for any FC, BC, or AC units. The detail for the FC units show a condensate but not where they are run to. I did not see a detail for any other units. Do they also require condensate drains? If so can you also include routing for them as well as all FC units? A: Refer to Addendum to the Project Drawings Q: The specification calls out for tan, yellow gold and red granite aggregates mixed into the concrete. Is there a specific source for this special color aggregate or a preferred place to obtain these materials? A: There is no preferred source for this material. Q: I had a question regarding the site utilities for the Onate Elementary School Project. In the addendum #1, two plan sheets were provided (sheet 7 of 8 and 6 of 8) referencing a new 8 water line extension with several branch offs; are these to be included in this project? If so, can you provide sheet 5 of 8 and 8 of 8? A: The supplemental drawings were provided for information only. The work reflected on them has already been completed. 2 Onate Elementary School SSWA Project No Q: Specification section Bid Lots, 1.3 Bid Lot 2, item B states to include as part of Bid Lot a separate line item for five-year operation and maintenance contract. This request is not delineated on the Bid Form. Please advise. A: Refer to Addendum to the Project Specifications Q: Specification section Bid Lots, 1.3 Bid Lot 2, item C states If Bid Lot is accepted, provide two 2 inch empty conduits with pull strings from the main electrical room to an interior location near the PV location for future use, as part of Base Bid. Should this read If Bid Lot is NOT accepted.? It would seem to make sense to have these conduits in the Base Bid regardless of the acceptance of Bid Lot 2. A: Refer to Addendum to the Project Specifications Q: Sheet ES101 calls for three conduits (2ea 1 and 1ea 2 ) extending from the NE corner of existing bldg. A to the existing Security, FA and Intercom cabinets. Can these conduits be run on the roof of the existing building? A: For purposes of this bid, conduits are to be run through building as shown. The majority of the run is in a corridor ceiling. Assume one exterior wall penetration and a minimum of two interior wall penetrations. Q: If these conduits need to be run in ceiling spaces, we will need to know ceiling/wall types of the existing building. A: Ceilings are 2 x4 acoustical lay-in. Exterior walls are 8 slump block. Interior walls are frame with gyp board. Q: Also, this work will disrupt the activities in the occupied spaces so careful coordination will be required to minimize this disruption. Finally, who will be responsible for moving furniture in these spaces to allow access to these ceilings? A: APS will move any furniture necessary. Q: On page AS102 detail #17 - is there a footing for a wall along the back side of the curb? If so what is the length of wall required. Or is that detail supposed to point to the Mechanical yard? A: The leader should be pointing to the CMU wall of the mechanical yard. Q: When trying to get a price on the aggregate spec for the polished Terraza areas they are calling out colored aggregate that is not locally found and does not meet the strength requirements. Tan, Red, Yellow granite aggregates, is there another mix they want to adopt? A: Aggregate may have to be ordered. If the aggregate is not available, a substitute may be considered. Refer to specifications for post addenda substitution procedure. Addendum To The Project Specifications: AD2 01 Section Instructions to Bidders SUBTITUTIONS: The following manufacturers and products have been approved as acceptable equals to those specified, provided that the proposed items are in accordance with the function, material, physical size and meet the design intent specified. Contract requirements are not waived by these prior approvals and it shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to verify that these products are in accordance with the Drawings and Specifications prior to including them in his/her bid. The items submitted for prior approval have only been reviewed for general conformance since complete and detailed submittals have not been made at this time.
