2 About CDS 1 CDS designs, manufactures, and services a complete line of downstream extrusion machinery for processors of polymer-based pipes, profiles, and tubes. CDS is based in Montreal, Canada and operates a network of sales agencies in North America and abroad. Quick history CDS originated from former Canada-based Metaplast, which manufactured extrusion equipment for over two decades. The unit's stainless steel mounting rails accommodates calibration tooling and an auxiliary tank, both of which can be supplied with controllable vacuum (dry sizing) and/or cooling water (wet sizing). The tanks can be sectioned to allow for separate spraying and flooding capability. An optional recirculation system increases cooling efficiency and reduces the amount of waste water produced. Like the standard Spray Cooling Tanks (see page 7) each compartment has adjustable water flow and spray controls. These units include a closed loop water recirculation and cooling system. Ideal for hard-to-cool extrudates, such as wood plastic composite (WPC) decking boards and foam profiles.

The table travel speed is self-adjusting and is designed to eliminate interference with the extrudate s advancement.

Linear rails and bearings assure smooth table and blade travel. Features such as a solid base, table and blade guards, and cut-off switches make our cross-cut saws safe and dependable. Options include custom blades, an electronic length controller for presetting cut lengths, and a vacuum dust/chip collector. The Planetary Saw is designed and manufactured to accurately cut pipes of various materials and diameters (O.D.) The unit's carbide or diamond-chip blade (6, 8, 10, or 12 ) executes its incision around the pipe s circumference while in synchronization with the extrusion line speed.

The speed can be set with a manual dial or a digital keypad for greater versatility. An oil-heating unit can be added for profiles that require heated rolls. CDS s Brushing/scouring machines create a realistic grain in wood composite materials. A full enclosure and a vacuum blower ensure that dust and chip buildup is minimized, and the brushes are all easily accessible for quick replacement.

The ejection process is triggered by a mechanical switch or photo-optic sensor. Table width, conveyor speed, and bin type can be customized according to the profile, plus an optional overhead light allows added visibility.
