2 MOTOR GRADER TENDER SPECIFICATION Operations Department TENDER FOR THE SUPPLY AND DELIVERY OF (1) ONE ONLY NEW 2017CURRENT PRODUCTION MODEL ARTICULATED VARIABLE HORESPOWER MOTOR GRADER. These are the known makes and models, which, with the proper equipment, will comply with the following specification. 3 SPECIFICATION: Operations Department CONFIRMATION: 1. MAKE & MODEL the make and model of unit being tendered. Make: Model: NEW 2017 current production model 2. WEIGHT The basic weight of the grader with cab and the equipment specified but excluding the weight of the scarifier and any attachments e.g., snow plow equipment, shall be 15,753 kg (34730 lb.) Minimum. Weight on the rear tandem wheels of the grader as above shall be 11,440 kg (25220 lb.) minimum Weight of the grader equipped as requested. 3. ENGINE The engine shall be 6 cylinder diesel, 4 stroke cycle, Turbocharged, Diesel. Engine shall be wet sleeve design Tier III certified engine Engine shall produce 230 hp. Transmission shall be a direct drive powershift with a minimum of 8 speeds forward and 6 speeds reverse Transmission shall have auto shifting feature Transmission shall have shuttle shift feature Transmission guard with side shields to be included Transmission shall have built in self-diagnostic capability 7. HYDRAULICS Hydraulic system shall be closed centre, load sensing type with a variable displacement piston pump Bio Hydraulic Oil Hydraulic pump shall produce 200 litres per minute at 2000 rpm type Blade lift cylinders shall have independent float capability There shall be provision to install up to fourteen modulating hydraulic valves with seven control levers on each side of the adjustable control arm rests Hydraulic and powertrain systems shall have separate oil reservoirs Weather Guards shall be provided over auxiliary hydraulic Valve banks 5

7 Operations Department 11. FRAME The frame shall be constructed of welded steel members of either box or tubular section, or a combination of these two types. The frame shall be articulated behind the cab. The articulation joint shall have a mechanical locking device to prevent frame articulation while servicing or transporting machine and shall be located behind the cab. 12 NOISE SUPPRESSION The preferred sound level in cab shall not exceed 75 Db (A) as per ISO 6394:1998 (enclosed cab). Coat hook. 15. BRAKES Braking system shall be ISO 3450 compliant Service Brakes - wet disc type effective on all four wheels of the tandem drive and shall be air or hydraulic power boosted. Back up system to provide braking if engine fails. Parking Brakes - shall operate independently of the service brake system. Parking brake shall be spring applied, hydraulically released. 9

10 16. CIRCLE AND MOLDBOARD Operations Department Operating mechanism moldboard operating Mechanism shall be power operated. It shall be capable of lifting and lowering (bank sloping 90 ) side shifting and revolving of the moldboard. It shall be possible to side shift the moldboard hydraulically with reference to the blade circle. Stability - the mechanism shall be capable of holding the moldboard rigidly in any selected position withoutchatter, deflection or drift. Circle to be protected via overload counterbalance valve or slip clutch. Heavy duty circle support system with a minimum of 5 guide and clamp plates : Heavy duty wear inserts to be supplied for circle and moldboard. Length shall be 14ft. Thickness 1 in. minimum.
