1 Heated Lamps How Does it Work? Step 1 A SmartHeat light will automatically turn on at startup or when temperatures drop. BE SAFER IN THE SNOW J.W. Speakers new line of heated lights with SmartHeat is redefining lighting with its integrated lens heating technology! Winter weather can cause snow and ice build-up on Step 2 The SmartHeat technology uses an internal sensor to sense the current temperature. If the technology senses the temperature to be below the low temperature threshold, the heat will stay on to de-ice the lens. If the technology senses the temperature to be above the high temperature threshold, the SmartHeat grid system will automatically turn off. Step 3 Once the ice has melted and the light has warmed up to meet the high temperature threshold, the SmartHeat grid system will automatically turn off. In extreme temperatures facing constant cold conditions, the SmartHeat grid system will continue to stay on preventing ice and snow from building on the lens of the light. Due to varying sensor locations on the different products in the SmartHeat Series, temperature thresholds cannot be measured by outside temperature and will vary between lights. 6 Safety Lamps & Work Lamps Specifically designed for the material handling industry, the Model 770 BLU represents a new way of thinking about visual safety devices. Forklift Safety Lamp Model 770 XD 3 x 5 Work Lamp Traditional visual warning devices (i.e. strobes) are most effective when a pedestrian is able to see the fork lift coming. If they are not paying close attention or there is a blind corner present, the traditional visual warning device really doesn t contribute much to preventing an accident. 8 Warranty Information Headlight Condensation J.W. SPEAKER AFTERMARKET WARRANTY Condensation is a naturally occurring condition that can affect any light. It does not suggest a defect in a product, as opposed to what happens when a leak occurs, in which case there is water ingress that could lead to a system failure. The explanation contained herein is intended to help end users differentiate between these two conditions so they understand what, if anything, needs to be done. If you have issues with a J.W. Speaker product, please troubleshoot your light before contacting the authorized dealer where your purchased your light. Condensation Water Ingress Condensation is the change of water from a gaseous form (vapor) into liquid water. It appears as small droplets of moisture inside the light. Water ingress describes water that leaks into the light, manifesting itself as large droplets and pooling of water that is clearly visible. Warranty Information Basic troubleshooting can be done by switching components from side-to-side to isolate the problem, individually such as just the bulbs, then just the ballasts, etc. If you are the original purchaser and after you have confirmed the defective Speaker Part, please review the Pacesetter Warranty Instructions inside the back cover of this catalogue or visit ca/warranty/ on how to submit a warranty claim. Please sure to carefully follow the instructions for contacting the Pacesetter Warranty department. Do not contact J.W.Speaker as they will not process claims directly with the end user. Pacesetter handles all warranty claims on behalf of J.W. Speaker for all of Canada, on all products purchased from Pacesetter. Please ensure you have your proof of sale. Warranty is non-transferrable and valid only to the original purchaser. WARRANTY SCOPE AND TERMS J.W. Speaker Corporation provides warranty coverage for its products against defects in materials, components and workmanship. There is no express or implied coverage for any other costs, such as labor costs, travel, incidentals and collateral damage. This warranty applies to the original purchaser only and is not transferrable. Coverage extends only to replacing a defective part. Exceptions and exclusions are referenced in Sections 2.0 and 3.0. All products sold by J.W. Speaker provide a five (5) year limited warranty, with exceptions and exclusions summarized below. EXCEPTIONS The following exceptions apply to J.W. Speaker standard warranty: Condensation does not cause a problem with normal operation of the light and is, therefore, NOT considered to be a defect or warrantable condition. Sources of water ingress can vary. If a light suffers water ingress as the result of physical abuse and/ or misuse, it would not constitute a manufacturing defect. In fact, J.W. Speaker lamps are designed to allow moisture to escape and not reenter, but it takes time for the moisture to evaporate (the amount of time will depend upon whether or not the light is turned on or not). Otherwise, water ingress caused by a defect in workmanship is a warrantable item. In this event, please contact the dealer who supplied the product to schedule a return. WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS J.W. Speaker s Warranty Policy does not allow for claims resulting from the following conditions: Plastic parts used in lights naturally absorb moisture in the air Visit for more details. As the light heats up these plastics parts release moisture that mixes with air WARRANTY CLAIM PROCESS Moisture attaches itself to the coolest part of the lamp, e.g. the lens This Warranty Policy applies ONLY to the customers who purchased products directly from J.W. Speaker. Claims from end customers must be routed to the source where purchased, and processed with them to obtain a Returned Materials Authorization (RMA).
