1 Abridged Specifications: 10D1477 Electrodeless Sensor with 50XM1000 Transmitter The 10D1477 electrodeless ceramic lined wafer sensors and 50XM1000 transmitters are pulsed DC magnetic flowmeters. These systems are recommended for industrial applications of low conductivity fluids ( 0.05 µs/cm), for noisy slurries, and for fluids that coat internal piping surfaces (sludges and pastes). Ceramic can be preferred for abrasive fluids, highly corrosive fluids (except hydrofluoric acid and hot caustics), or fluids that are both corrosive and abrasive. Electrodeless design means the electrodes are not wetted by the process fluid as in a standard sensor. Large plate electrodes are located inside the liner and utilize a capacitance measurement technique to sense the voltage produced by flowing fluid. Ceramic lined sensors may not be recommended on applications that can produce large, instantaneous changes in process temperature of more than 180 F (from cold to hot) or 126 F (from hot to cold).
