Make sure the surface for fastening is smooth, flat, aligned and that the floor is sufficiently flat and finished. Material of fastening surface Iron Aluminium Reinforced concrete Solid wood Hollow concrete blocks Minimum thickness 2 mm (for lesser thicknesses use threaded rivets) 3 mm (for lesser thicknesses use threaded rivets) 100 mm 50 mm 110 mm (for lesser thicknesses use chemical bolts) CEDA140 Automation for double door Mark the center of the TO corresponding to the midpoint of the crossbar. Fasten the special crossbar supporting hooks as shown on 6 and 7. Install the crossbar and before fastening it make sure the two centers are aligned. This will ensure that the crossbar is installed correctly with respect to the opening. CEDA140 Automation for single door Mark the edge of the upright or vertical wall at the side of the TO corresponding to the midpoint of the crossbar ± 20 mm. For opening toward the left: the center of the crossbar = the edge of the upright or left wall at the side of the opening. For opening toward the right: the center of the crossbar = the edge of the upright or right wall at the side of the opening. Fasten the special crossbar supporting hooks as shown on. 6 and 7. Install the crossbar and before fastening it make sure the two centers are aligned. This will ensure that the crossbar is installed correctly with respect to the opening. 8

9 Installation of the adapter and standard rail on the door 5/20 Y Adapter Door panel 70/ Cut the adapter to the size of the finished door width minus 2 mm on the side of the closing jamb. Make sure the top part of the door crossbar is reinforced at the base. Minimum thickness 3 mm. Decide Y : the perpendicular distance between the panel and the upright or vertical wall considering also any air seal brushes. Drill the adapter starting from the distance of about 70/80 mm from the end. NOTE! The number of fastening holes drilled depends on the weight of the door panel. Mark the fastening points using the adapter as template. Drill and fasten the adapter on the door panel using cylindrical screws with a metric pitch M6 or self-tapping cylindrical screws with a diameter of 5.5 depending on the type of material. Cut the rail to the size of the finished door width minus 2 mm on the side of the closing jamb. Drill the rail starting from a distance of about 70/80 mm from the end and fasten it under the door with self-tapping flush cylindrical screws with a diameter of Rail Fig. 9 Crossbar installation Crossbar supporting hooks Standard installation: door height (including the adapter and rail on the floor) + 15 mm The height measurement from the level of the finished floor to the lower edge of the crossbar must be as follows: Standard installation 5 mm (distance between the floor and the bottom rail edge) + door panel height (inclusive of the standard adapter and rail on the floor if it projects beyond the door) + 10 mm (distance between the upper edge of the standard adapter and the bottom edge of the crossbar). Fig. 10 LPF NOTE! Before installing the crossbar it is very important to determine the height taking as reference the highest point of the floor so as to prevent sticking at floor level during panel glide. Take care when fastening the crossbar not to damage the gliding base of the carriages with the drill bit. If damaged, the crossbar must be replaced entirely because the gliding base is not detachable. 9

NOTE! Use the carriage height adjustment screws to raise or lower the door panel by ± 10 mm (with the crossbar installed at the correct height). INSTALLATION OF THE RUNNER ON THE FLOOR Bottom of door panel Fig. 17 Fig

12 Final adjustment of sliding door panel After fastening the runners to the floor, it is necessary to make a final adjustment of the sliding door panels. Lower carriage bracket Perpendicular adjustment A Standard adapter 1 The distance B must be determined before fastening the runner to the floor, considering the air seal brush, if any. 2 The distance A can be adjusted by loosening the two screws that hold the lower bracket of the carriage to the adapter. The holes on the brackets are slotted so as to permit a movement of the door by about 18 mm. Before tightening the screws make sure the carriages are aligned with the crossbar and with each other. B Runner on the floor 3 If an air seal brush is to be installed between the sliding door and the upright or fixed wall, the door must be adjusted so as to leave about 1 mm between it and the brush along the entire length. Fig. 19 Height adjustment Height adjustment of the sliding door is made using the adjustment screws on the carriages as shown on 11 figure 16. After making the final adjustment tighten the screws on the load bearing wheels and raise the derail-proof wheel The door must be sufficiently plumb and in case of doors with double panels the panels must be parallel. The runner on the floor must not touch the upper part of the glide rail. LPF Any sealing brush at floor level must not cause glide resistance. Fig

22 Emergency battery Automatic emergency door opening or closing The automation can be equipped with a rechargeable emergency battery that, in case of power outage on the 230V mains, automatically opens or closes the doors. After this action, the doors remain in that position until power is restored. The automation resumes as programmed with the switch once power has been restored on the mains. The emergency opening or closure depends on the program setting of the electronic circuit. Control and automatic test of the emergency battery The emergency battery function is kept under constant control by the electronic circuit on the microprocessor controller. This control and test ensures constant efficiency of the battery that, in case of malfunction, blocks the door open and signals the possible malfunction. Manual emergency door opening When an emergency situation requires opening the door and this is not automatic in case of power outage on the 230V mains, a key for management of this function can be installed. In this case the emergency battery will not act until the key is pressed. To obtain this function the program setting must be made as follows: parameter [S] on CH and connect the key to contacts 3 and 6 on the electronic circuit. Manual emergency door opening/closing with program selection switch If necessary, in case of a power outage, it is possible to open or close the doors using the program selection switch. Select "OPEN" to open the door and "CLOSE" to close it. To permit this function the program setting on the electronic program circuit must be [S] on AP and [ t ] on E1 22

23 Technical description and operation Description of CEDA140 automation The automation is electromechanical without any clutches or brakes so as to prevent possible blockages of a continuous nature caused by damage or breakage of the structure. The power supply is 230V ~ 50/60 Hz with a 100W 24V AC low voltage transformer. The main section bar/crossbar of the automation is made of highly resistant anodized extruded aluminum. The gearmotor, toothed belt, and electronic control circuit are incorporated under the covering case in anodized extruded aluminum, fastened with a built-in fastening system for more rapid and easier access in case of maintenance. Dimensions of automation with casing: 165 mm width and 120 mm height. The carriages supporting the door are made of sheet steel, and are equipped with wheels in high density plastic material fitted with bearings with permanent lubrication that glide on a rail inside the main crossbar/section bar. Transmission and movement are obtained by means of a 45 watt 24V gearmotor with permanently lubricated wormscrew and toothed belt made of antistatic rubber material. The trefoil cables are made of long-lasting steel with properties of wear resistance. The electronic control circuitry consists of a microprocessor with keys on the control panel for adjustment of parameters such as opening and closing speed, slowing speed, low approach speed, automatic reclosing time and mode of operation. The movement, position and speed of the door are managed by the electronic control board through a reading device which consists of an optical encoder installed on the gearmotor or belt transmission. Safety anti-crushing device on both opening and closure that enables the doors to reverse motion if they encounter an obstacle during closure, and to halt motion during opening. Safety and Control Accessories - Microwave or infrared radar for activation and control inside and outside the door. - Miniaturized safety barrier photocells for control of threshold and/or motor stop. - Knob or keyboard switch with six positions: closed, entrance only, exit only, total two-way opening, partial/reduced two-way opening, open. - Adapter system made of aluminum for suspensions of the doors with the carriages. - Aluminum rail system on the floor with plastic self-lubricating non-stick runner. - Emergency battery for opening or closing in case of power outage on 230V ~ mains. - Door closure block with electromechanical pin. Door startup! Check and make sure the mechanical assembly and electrical connections have been done correctly.! Make sure the program function selector switch is not in the CLOSED position. Power the automation at the 230V ~ mains and check that the display of the electronic circuit board lights up. A few seconds after the electronic circuit board has automatically run a series of controls and tests of the circuit, the door will start to open all the way to the stop and then close again, at slow speed (this maneuver serves to memorize the length of the door run). After performing this maneuver the door is ready to function normally (unless it encounters malfunctions, and using the standard settings made in the factory). 23

24 CEDA140 programming parameters Programming of the parameters for operation of the CEDA140 automation can be done using the keys and displayed on the control panel of the electronic control circuit board.
