Great features and proven performance in demanding applications are the reasons why. MAGNALOCK TECHNOLOGY Magnalocks are designed to secure any kind of door or gate that closes against a fixed stop. The product consists of an electromagnet which mounts on the fixed frame, and a strike plate which mounts on the moving door or gate. The strike plate is delivered with fasteners that let it flex, so when a door closes, it automatically self-aligns with the magnet. Powerful magnetic force then secures the door, and release is achieved by switching off current. Magnalocks are remarkably efficient. Model 32 draws only 3-1/2 watts. Model 62 draws only 3 watts. Models 34 and 82SC draw only 4 watts. Low power consumption is especially important when large numbers of Magnalocks are operated from a central power supply. Efficiency saves in wire gauge, power supply and battery backup costs. Advanced internal electronics eliminate problems found in other designs. Magnalocks reverse out residual magnetism and accelerate field collapse, so that inductive kickback and EMI are suppressed. There is no arcing over control switches, or interference with nearby electronics. Ferrous metal aging which can lead to stickiness is blocked. Securitron s patented Senstat option provides a lock status sensing signal which positively indicates that the door is secure. This interfaces with access control or alarm systems and is superior to the commonly used door position switch which indicates that the door is closed but not that it is secure. All Senstat Magnalocks use Form C isolated contacts. Standard Magnalocks are suspended from the door frame, so the door swings away from the magnet body the preferred mounting method. But if the door swings into the protected area security considerations may dictate the lock mounts on the in-swinging side of the door. The F option provides for face mounting on the header above the door. Mounting holes are drilled through the magnet face, and wire exits the rear. The Z bracket is normally used with F Magnalocks. The G option (available on the 62 and 82 Models only) adds a 3/4" female 1" male universal conduit fitting to allow conduit wiring for outdoor installations. The G version is also useful for surface wired installations on concrete filled door frames. This avoids the cost of drilling a wire way in the concrete. (See image below.) DOUBLE MODEL 62 CONFIGURATION For double doors without a center mullion, the DM-62 supplies two 1,200 lb. holding force Model 62 Magnalocks in a single, brushed stainless steel housing. The 22 [572mm] wide housing provides adequate lock separation for internal obstructions often found in double doors. Electrically, the dual locks are controlled as one. On concrete filled frames the bracket anchors to the frame using sheet metal screws; the magnet mounts to the bracket with machine screws. The bracket includes a central splice area, avoiding the need to drill a wireway through the concrete. On wood frames, 4 [4mm] wood screws penetrate into the header. Separate part numbers are used for the Model 32, 62, and 82 Magnalocks. The bracket is positioned either to extend 1 [mm] or 1-1/2 [38mm], and also serves to conceal the hookup cable within its hollow interior. Model UHB works with Model 32, 34 or 62 series Magnalocks and the longer UHB-82 works with the Model 82. Concealed lock mounting is an important feature, enhancing aesthetic appearance. The lock is mortised into the frame, and the floating adjustable strike is mortised into the door. Additionally, the SAM can be installed in any position on the door top, side, or bottom. Templates are available to door manufacturers for door and frame preparation prior to installation. The XM-1 consists of Securitron s model XMS egress motion detector and the EEB2 integrated push button/timer. The EEB2 mounts in a single gang cut-out. The XM1N also includes the XMS motion detector but substitutes the EEB3N integrated push botton/timer which mounts directly on a 1 3/4 narrow stile door frame. XMS Exit Motion Sensor The XMS Passive Infrared Request-to-Exit Device is a motion detector specifically designed to reliably release manetic locks. A person approaching the door is seen by the motion detector just before reaching the door. The XMS automatically cuts power to the lock, allowing the individual to exit without even realizing that the door is secured. For additional safety, an integrated push botton timer (such as the EEB2 or EEB3N) should be mounted next to the door. 42 1-800-MAGLOCK ( ) ACCESS CONTROL ACCESSORIES LOCK CONTROL PANELS ITEM APPLICATION USE PART# ORDERING DESCRIPTION LOCK CONTROL PANELS DESK MOUNT FLUSH MOUNT RACK MOUNT WALL MOUNT The LCP Series panel is designed to operate any DC electric lock or strike that operates on 12 or 24 volts (fail safe or fail secure.) Other electric locks can be accommodated by adding relays. The panel is constructed of control zones supplied in multiples of four. A single multi-color monitoring LED per zone displays four possible conditions of the lock: Green shows that the zone is secure and this condition may be driven from a door switch, lock status switch or the power status of the lock. Off shows that the lock has been legally released from either the panel control switch or from a remote switch at the door. In this condition, the toggle switch itself illuminates yellow. Red is the alarm condition showing that a lock which should be secure is not reporting secure. This condition is latching and is reset from a momentary switch once the zone has been resecured. A Sonalert accompanies the red violation condition. Orange shows that the zone has been resecured and is ready for alarm reset. After reset, the indicator turns green again. 43 LIFETIME REPLACEMENT WARRANTY ACCESS CONTROL ACCESSORIES LOCK CONTROL PANEL OPTIONS ITEM APPLICATION USE PART# ORDERING DESCRIPTION SILENCE LATCH (OPTION SLR) This option adds a momentary illuminated button which is used to silence the Sonalert only after it has sounded. When the Sonalert has been silenced the button illuminates and a built-in reminder tone is emitted. Once the alarm condition is cleared, the silence function automatically resets so that Sonalert will sound again for the next alarm event. SLR Silence latch with recurrent reminder signal EMERGENCY RELEASE (OPTION ER ) This option adds an alternate action illuminated button which, when pressed, illuminates and immediately releases all locks. Pressing the button again restores power to the locks. This option is used only with fail safe locks. ER Emergency all release (fail safe locks only) ADDITIONAL MONITORING LIGHTS (OPTION AM ) This option adds a second LED (yellow) to each control zone. The LED illuminates from an external closure or voltage input and at the same time, a pulsing Sonalert sounds. The most common use for this option is to annunciate the start of exit delay for a fail safe lock in the NFPA 1 delayed exit installation. Other conditions, depending on the specific job, can also use this capability. AM Additional set of monitoring lights (per four zones) SWITCH BYPASS KEYSWITCH (OPTION KB1 OR KB2 The bypass keyswitch, when turned off, secures all zones and shunts out the control switches and emergency release button (if one has been supplied) so that the panel may be left unattended for a time. This option yields a mortise cylinder type keyswitch with cylinder supplied. The suffix 1 is wired for fail safe locks. The suffix 2 is wired for fail secure locks. KB1 KB2 Key switch control bypass (fail safe locks) w/cylinder Key switch control bypass (fail secure locks) w/cylinder MOMENTARY CONTROL SWITCHES (OPTION MOM ) This option changes the lock control toggle switches from alternate (standard) to spring loaded momentary. It is used if the installation permits only momentary release of a lock from the panel. (Momentary switches are not illuminated.) MOM Momentary control switches (alternate is standard) HIGH VOLUME USE (OPTION HT ) The standard toggle switches are limited in life to about 30,000 operations. This is more than adequate for most installations where the panel switches are used sporadically but for high volume use, we suggest push button switches, with a life of about 200,000 operations. HT Heavy duty push button switches (per four zones) MagnaCare SECURITRON MAGNALOCK CORPORATION warrants that it will replace at customer s request, at any time for any reason, products manufactured and branded by SECURITRON. SECURITRON will use its best efforts to ship a replacement product by next day air freight at no cost to the customer within 24 hours of SECURITRON s receipt of the product from customer. Transportation and insurance charges on all returned goods must be prepaid by the customer. Returned goods are subject to a minimum 15% restocking charge plus an additional charge for any damages. Goods are returned under the terms of SECURITRON s MAGNACARE Limited Lifetime Warranty and must be accompanied by a copy of the original invoice. CANCELLATIONS: Any order and/or item(s) may be subject to a 5% cancellation charge for catalog items. Cancellation for non-catalog or custom items will be subject to a 20% cancellation charge plus all costs (both direct and indirect) incurred by manufacturing at the point of cancellation that are properly allocated to the cancellation order and/ or item(s).
