You will require the drilling template for reliable and safe fastening to the ceiling. 6 1 Before you begin Sirona Dental Systems GmbH 1.1 Safety information It is essential that you comply with the warning and safety information contained in the. All such information is highlighted by the signal words CAUTION, WARNING or DANGER. DANGER It is essential that you switch the line voltage OFF at the main switch of the building installation before beginning installation of the unit! CAUTION The installation must be carried out in accordance with the requirements stated in our. CAUTION The installation may be carried out only by personnel specifically authorized by SIRONA. CAUTION Any person who assembles or modifies a medical electrical system complying with the standard IEC (safety requirements for medical electrical equipment) by combining it with other equipment is responsible for ensuring that the requirements of this regulation are met to their full extent for the safety of the patients, the operators and the environment. CAUTION Electromagnetic compatibility: The unit should not be operated in the immediate vicinity of other devices (see also "Installation Requirements ). If this proves to be unavoidable, the unit should be monitored to ensure that it is used properly. CAUTION Use an ESD wrist band during installation. Connect it to the protective ground wire. CAUTION When opening the unit: Please observe the usual precautionary measures for handling PCBs (ESD). Touch a ground point to discharge static electricity before handling any components. If any equipment not approved by SIRONA is connected, it must comply with the applicable standards: - IEC for information technology equipment and - IEC for medical electrical equipment. See also Installation Requirements. In case of doubt, contact the manufacturer of the system components. CAUTION Wireless phone interference with medical electrical equipment: To ensure safe operation of medical electrical equipment, the use of mobile wireless phones in practice or hospital environments is prohibited. 6 D

Please carry out incoming inspection of the equipment in order to make sure that it was not damaged during transport. Check the packaging and the equipment for visible signs of damage. Check the shipment for completeness based on the attached scope of supply checklist. i NOTE If the shipment was damaged during transport, document all damage carefully and contact the responsible carrying agent immediately. i NOTE Disposal: Return the packaging materials to SIRONA or dispose of them in compliance with the legal regulations applicable in your country. 14 D

Avoid severe jolts and vibrations! The lamp reflector is a sensitive component which therefore must be handled with care. D

Be sure to switch the line voltage OFF at the main switch of the building installation BEFORE beginning the installation procedure. DANGER Shock hazard! When determining the fastening points, make sure that none of them are located above electrical cables installed in the ceiling. Attaching the drilling template and center punching the fastening points Attach the drilling template to the ceiling according to the relevant instructions provided for that purpose. Center punch the three boldly encircled fastening holes and remove the drilling template again. Preparing the drilling template Cut an opening in the drilling template at the location where the power cable is to be inserted. Insert the power cable through the opening in the drilling template. Important information on ceiling construction WARNING The total weight of the SIROLUX FANTASTIC Light Track System is approx 31 kg. The ceiling construction must be suitable for mounting the SIROLUX FANTASTIC Light Track System (see On-site Installation, Dimensions, Technical data ). WARNING The Light Track System may come loose from the ceiling if not fastened properly. Always used fasteners which are appropriate for the ceiling constructure at hand. WARNING Never use a worn-out drill bit (decreased diameter). For concrete ceilings WARNING The heavy duty steel wall plugs supplied may be used only for concrete ceilings! For other ceilings WARNING For all nonconcrete ceilings, the ceiling construction must be checked for sufficient fastening substance and special wall plugs must be purchased from a specialized dealer. For wood joist ceilings, an (approx. 10 mm thick) anchor plate is required, which can be made by a local fitter. Two spacers can be made for suspended. Please provide detailed information on the load capacity of the ceiling and purchase the appropriate installation materials from a specialized dealer. 1. Drill the wall plug hole depending on the condition of the ceiling and the installation materials (for concrete ceilings: approx. 70 mm deep with a hole diameter of 12 mm). 20 D

Kl.11 Fuse F1: T2AH Unscrew the front and rear cover of the Light Track System rail. CAUTION The Light Track System rail is configured for 230V mains power at the factory. Changes are only required if the Light Track System shall be connected to 115V. Before connecting to mains power, check that the labels show the proper mains power selection. 1. Label positions for 230V mains power and fuse F1 with T2AH. 2. Wiring scheme of terminal Kl 11 for operation with 230V. D

22 3 Installation Sirona Dental Systems GmbH V mains power supply 1. Kl 11 F1 2. Kl 11 Fuse F1: T4AH Unscrew the front and rear cover of the Light Track System rail. CAUTION The Light Track System rail is configured for 230V mains power at the factory. Changes are required before connecting to 115V mains power. 1. Remove the labels for 230V mains power and fuse F1 T2AH. Stick on the labels for 115V mains power and F1 T4AH. Exchange the fuse F1 T2AH with a fuse of type T4AH. 2. Rewire the leads on terminal Kl 11 as shown. 22 D

Install the cable for the composite function as well (if available). Check the two ceiling mounts horizontally with the spirit level. If necessary, compensate on the right or left at locations B. 2. Thread the power cable through the opening in the holder and fit the ceiling rail. Screw on the ceiling rail tight with four screws C and washers. Connect the power cable to terminal Kl 12: L (brown) to 12 L N (blue) to 12 N PE (green/yellow) to 12 PE D

24 3 Installation Sirona Dental Systems GmbH 3.6 Shortening and mounting the support tube X X Dia. 5 mm +0.1 Y A B Unscrew the slide cover (watch out for washer). i NOTE If the room height is between 260 cm and 280 cm, you will require the long support tube, which then must be shortened as required. 1. Shorten the support tube. Place the support tube in the slide and fasten it with the Allen screws. Transfer the 176 cm dimension from the floor to the support tube. Measure dimension X. Loosen the Allen screws again slightly and remove the support tube. Cut dimension X off of the upper end of the tube. Drill hole A 9 mm from the end of the tube with a diameter of 5 mm +0.1 at the upper end of the tube opposite safety plate B (see illustration above). i NOTE Tip: To make sure that the support tube does not slip away while you're center punching and drilling it, you can unscrew safety plate B (see also page 26) and e.g. place a ruler underneath the flattened side of the tube connection to fix the tube in its position. 2. Measure the new length of the support tube, Y. 24 D

Measure the length of the cable and stow the excess cable length in cable takeup C. i NOTE The remaining length of cable should correspond to the length of the support tube, Y. 4. Mount the support tube. Thread the cable incl. cable takeup into the support tube from above. Insert the support tube into the slide as shown and hammer in dowel pin D. i NOTE Dowel pin D is included in the scope of supply of the support tube. Tighten the two Allen screws E firmly. D

26 3 Installation Sirona Dental Systems GmbH 3.7 Mounting the flexible support arm with lamp B1 1 A D B C1 2F 1E 2C 1. Attach slide cover A (see dismantling instruction on page 24). Preparing the flexible lamp support arm 2. Pull the bellows back slightly on the flexible lamp arm. Using a screwdriver, carefully pry the two parts of support ring B apart on both sides and remove both ring halves. 3. Using a screwdriver, carefully pry apart the two covers C on both sides of the articulated arch and remove them. 4. Fit sleeve D (included in the scope of supply of the support tube) onto the shaft of the flexible support arm. Mounting the flexible lamp support arm 5. Now loosen screw E on the support tube and pull out safety plate F, unless you already did this before drilling the hole in the support tube (see page 24). 26 D

27 Sirona Dental Systems GmbH 3 Installation F båöäáëü G1 9. H 6. Pull the cables of the support tube downward through the shaft and the articulated arch of the flexible lamp support arm. 7. Insert the shaft of the lamp support arm into the support arm from below and fasten this connection by refitting safety plate F. i NOTE When assembling, make sure that the two stop pins G of the flexible support arm and the support tube are not located on top of each other. 8. Plug the cables together, roll them up in a loop and stow them in the arm. i NOTE The large connector should be stowed in the articulated arch so that it points toward the lamp. The small connector should be stowed in the articulated arch so that it points upward toward the support arm. CAUTION Make sure that the cables are not crushed. 9. Adjust the brake of the flexible lamp support arm with brake screw H. i NOTE The brake should be adjusted so that the support arm shows a slight braking resistance and does not automatically move under its own weight. Push sleeve J upward onto the support tube, reattach covers K and support ring L to the flexible lamp support arm and push the bellows back onto the support ring (see also dismantling on page 26). 12. Attach the two handles M to the lamp while pressing the button. Four handle positions are possible. 28 D
