12 installation and operation recommendation switchgear ageing withstandinanmv substation depends on 3 main factors H The need for proper implementation of connections: the new cold slip --- on and retractable technologies offer ease of installation, thereby promoting withstand over time. Their design enables operation in polluted environments with harsh atmospheres. H Theinfluenceoftherelative humidity factor: installation of heating resistors is essential in climates with high relative humidity and large temperature differences. H Ventilation control: the grids must be sized according to power loss in the substation. These grids must only be placed near the transformer, so as to prevent air circulating on the MV switchboard. operation We strongly recommend that you carry out at regular intervals (at least roughly every 2 years) afew operating cycles on the switching devices. Outside normal operating conditions (between -- 5 C and 40 C, absence of dust, corrosive gas, etc.), we recommend that you contact our Groupe Schneider Electric service centre in order to examine the measures to be taken to ensure proper installation operation. Our service centre is at your disposal at all times: H To conduct an installation diagnosis. H To suggest the appropriate maintenance operations. H To offer you maintenance contracts. 14 installation instructions preparing the cubicles priortoassembling the switchboard Delivery state: Earthing switch in closed position :bolt+washer : bolt+washer+nylstop nut A D C B Remove the front panel A, then pallet B. Remove the cover from the monitoring compartment C and the eye bolts D. E F Remove part E. (4bolts) Remove part F. (cubicle without LV box). fitting the end plate prèparation (only if the cubicle is at the end of the switchboard) bag of S4 bolts: (HM 6x12 bolts only). Mount 10 cage nuts on the cubicle. (see assembly overleaf) EN revision : 01 13

15 1 2 1 insert the cage nut from outside the cubicle in the specially provided rectangular hole. 2 topple the cage nut inside the cubicle push the cage nut in the direction of the arrow so as to place the upper part of the cage behind the plate. 4 nut correctly placed. fitting the end plate Instructions are given for the left hand side of the switchboard. Thesameappliesfortherighthand side. :screw+washer : screw+washer+nylstop nut Position the end plate. Place the screws onthecagenuts. Mount the screws with the nylstop nuts. 16 assembling the switchboard bag of bolts S1: (HM6x16 bolts only) : screw+washers+nut M K L upper view K L Fix the cubicles together. (the additional screws are for mounting the earth collector) Bolt mounting direction. K : left---hand cubicle L : right---hand cubicle M : to join the 2 cubicles. Screw HM6x60 to tighten moderately. Tightening torque : 6 Nm. fastening to the ground (bolts to be provided by the contractor depending on the installation layout) ,3x12, EN revision : 01 15

Version < 12 kv S6: mounting without field distribution block. Version > 12 kv S2: correct position of field distribution block. Incorrect position, risk of damage EN revision : 01

19 connecting MV cables Install the cable straps. H bag of bolts S3: HM 6x16 screws. Remaining bolts are intended for flanging the cables. Install the cable bushing. L1 Connect the cable on phase L1. The bolts remain fixed in place. Use a torque wrench and a 19 mm socket to immobilize the cable. Tightening torque: 50 Nm. 1 2 Fix the bottom plate and then flange the cable.(hm 8x50 screws) Mount the bottom plate 2 at the back of the cubicle EN revision : 01

22 start up instructions checking prior to switching on H leave nothing in the connection compartment H check on all phases that the field deflector lid is properly closed Reassemble the front panel. operating the device with power off refertothechapter: operating instructions Carry out a few operations on the disconnector and earthing switch. energising the HV incoming cables The devices must be in the open position. 23 voltage presence When the cables are energised, the lamps of the voltage presence indicator must come on. checking phase concordance L1 L2 L3 L1 L2 L3 Phases are concordant, the lamp does not come on. Phases are not concordant, the lamp comes on. cable test intervention Phase detection or current injection for fault tracking. H close the earthing switch. H open the front panel. 27 padlocking Padlock the switch in the open or closed position by 1, 2 or 3 padlocks (diameter = 8 mm). keylocking Refer to the keylocking installation and operation manual n operating safety The front panel can only be withdrawn or fitted when the earthing switch is closed EN revision : 01

28 maintenance instructions preventive maintenance, cleaning instructions and power --- up If necessary: contact the Schneider Electric group service centre. We strongly recommend that you carry out at regular intervals (at least roughly every 2 years) afew operating cycles on the switching devices. CAUTION Never lubricate the disconnector operating mechanism. If necessary: contact the Schneider Electric group service centre. In normal operating conditions (temperature between C and40 C) no special maintenance is required. CAUTION Never use solvents and alcohol. We recommend that you inspect each compartment (cable, fuse, busbar)* at regular intervals according to environmental conditions. If the insulating parts are dusty, that you remove the dust using a dry cloth. example : In harsher conditions (aggressive atmosphere, dust, temperature less than C or greater than 40 C) consult the nearest Schneider Electric service centre EN revision : 01 27

30 recovery of SF6 gas at end of life for disconnector cubicle The SF6 must be removed before any dismantling operation can be carried out in compliance with the procedures described in IEC and according to the following instructions. The gas must be treated in compliance with IEC H volume of gas to be recovered: 35 litres H internal gauge pressure: 40 kp A NB : SF6 gas recycling at the end of circuit-- breaker life, refer to its instruction for use. Remove the cover (A) from the control cabinet. control cover access B Remove the control cover (B). Remove the 3 screws retaining the operating mechanism. Cut the wiring to remove the operating mechanism. Drill 2 holes in the filler valve safety cap 4 mm, centreline 20 mm, max. depth 4 mm EN revision : 01 29

31 CAUTION pump the gas for at least 15 minutes. C Using a spanner wrench, remove the safety cap from the valve. Connect the special pumping equipment (C) EN revision : 01
