1 Hunger DFE GmbH Tandem Seal Hunger DFE Tandem Seal Hunger DFE Tandem Seals were particularly designed for application as rod and piston seals. Two types of this product range shall be presented at this point: Rod/Piston Seal TDI/TDA consists of two parts, an elastic ring of PUR with a sealing lip and a slide ring of abrasion resistant PTFE-Bronze-Compound with a sealing edge. Prior to fitting, the sealing lip protrudes beyond the nominal diameter of the seal and when fitted is pressed against the piston rod. Effective sealing is thereby provided at zero pressure. The interaction of both sealing elements results in the following advantages: very low friction coefficient low-wear = long life high reliable sliding speeds up to 1m/s no stick-slip effect high sealing effect due to tandem system (two seals in one groove) TDA TDI Rod/Piston Seal TDMI/TDMA as well consists of two sealing elements, an elastic ring of PUR with two sealing lips and a slide ring of abrasion resistant PTFE-Bronze- Compound. It is applied for the sealing of plunger pistons and piston rods. This tandem seal can be used in hydraulic oil based on mineral oil and compressed air. 2 Hunger DFE GmbH Compact Seals for Pistons Hunger DFE Compact Seal for Pistons The Hunger DFE slide ring piston seal type GD1000K is used to seal and guide pistons on double-acting hydraulic cylinders. The seal design and materials used make it particularly suitable for the most vigorous applications e.g. construction machine cylinders. The GD1000K consists of 6 parts, a special shaped elastic ring of a modified NBR, a slide ring of abrasion resistant PTFE-Bronze compound which acts as the sealing ring, two lateral support rings of modified PUR and two bearing rings of pressureresistant POM-PTFE- Bronze-Compound. The design of GD1000K ensures: fast response of the seal higher sealing effect longer service life higher resistance to media lower friction coefficient and excellent efficiency

Seal installation is very easy when combined with the use of HUNGER bearing elements: The maximum piston diameter, which the slide ring or sealing element has to pass over during assembly, is smaller with the use of FA type bearings than with conventional bearing rings. In most cases the slide ring does not need to be expanded for fitting. The minimum diameter of the rod seal and bearing housing, through which the seals have to pass during fitting, is larger with the use of FI and FAI type bearings. Due to the full coverage of the sliding surface by low-friction POM- PTFE-Compound an almost constant friction coefficient can be achieved at low as well as at high speeds. 5 Hunger DFE GmbH Wipers Hunger DFE Wiper The Hunger DFE wiper type AI has the function to keep out extremely fine dust, dirt, metal particles, grains of sand etc. so that the bearing elements and seals arranged behind it are not subjected to premature wear as a result of contaminant ingress. Wiper type AI covers a temperature range from C and can reach a sliding speed of 1 m/s. The AI wiper can be used with mineral oils and many other types of hydraulic fluids. Materials like NBR, Hytrel or FPM are part of our standard programme. However, wipers made of other materials like PTFE pure, PUR, NBR or Hytrel can also be supplied according to customer s requirements. AI-D AI-ST AI
