20 technicalinformation WIRING INSTRUCTIONS FOR SC180/E (Screwless brass pushbar lampholder) METHOD FOR CORRECT INSTALLATION lightingcomponents screwless terminals & earth Insertion of conductor Step 1 Insert the bootlace of the cord in to the screwless terminal, with the serrated side facing the U bush of the insert body. Bootlace, with two side serrations should be used for greater retention. ScrewlessInsert Step 2 After inserting the conductors as per step 1 pull the conductors upwards lightly to ensure firm gripping in the terminals. Terminal Release Step 1 enhanced safety (BS7895) For easy release of the conductor (when required), insert an approx. 1 mm dia pointed pin at an angle (approx. 45 o ) in to the wire release hole. Step 2 After inserting the pin, slighty push the pin in direction of arrow to release the conductor from the grip of the screwless terminal. On release of the conductor, pull it out from the insert. Safety (ON position) Safety (OFF position) Pushbar moves to OFF position automatically when the lamp is removed. In normal use the lampholder pins cannot become live until a lamp is in place.
