The flow coefficient Cv is the flow of water in m 3 /h determined by measurements, at an average temperature of 20 C, passing through a valve at a head loss of 1 bar. On the basis of the Cv value, the admissible head loss across the valve and the density of the flow medium, the flow rate can easily be calculated for the prevailing operating conditions.
