1 JAH03SY FITTING INSTRUCTINS REPLACES: REVISED: VT, VX AND VU HLDEN CMMDRE ARC BAR VEHICLE FRNTAL PRTECTIN SYSTEM (VFPS) FR AIR BAG & ADR CMPLIANT VEHICLES Check installation hardware before commencing. 1. Remove bumper assembly. Modify bumper retaining bracket below indicator light. See diagram Measure bumper as shown on figure 1. Using masking tape mark where cut is to occur. Check for correct alignment 3. Carefully cut bumper with air blade saw (body saw / mitre saw) using edge of masking tape as guide. NTE: Do not let blade protrude excessively though bumper whilst cutting. Check clearance of blade to avoid damage to vehicle components. 4. Check alignment of cut and refit bumper section to vehicle. 5. Connect indicator / park light wiring to original wiring located at the side of the headlights. Use cable locks (supplied). 6. Position passenger side mounting bracket (supplied) on chassis as shown in diagram 2, hard up against front face. Using bracket as a guide, mark chassis for where holes 1 and 2 are to be drilled. For hole 3 use backing plate as a guide. Ensure holes are drilled accurately to marked hole centres. Drill holes to 13mm. Blow filings clear and treat all exposed metal with a rust inhibitor. 7. Attach passenger side bracket to chassis. Use ½ x 1 ¾ bolts, flat and spring washers and backing washer plate (supplied). Check for alignment as shown in diagram 2. TIGHTEN ALL BLTS. 8. Driver s side; remove horn bracket form mounting bolt and cut where shown in diagram 3, to allow clearance for protection bar bracket to sit hard up against front face of chassis cross member shown below. 9. Hold drivers side mounting bracket on chassis as shown on diagram 2. Ensure bracket is flush against front face. Using bracket as a guide, mark chassis for where holes 1 and 2 are to be drilled. For hole 3 use backing plate as a guide. Ensure holes are drilled accurately to marked hole centres. Drill holes to 13mm. Blow filings clear and treat all exposed metal with a rust inhibitor. 10. Attach driver s side bracket to chassis. Use ½ x 1 ¾ bolts, flat and spring washers and backing washer plate (supplied). Check for alignment as shown in diagram 2. TIGHTEN ALL BLTS. NTE: Refit horn bracket and TIGHEN BLT Check the horn for correct operation. 11. Attach protection bar to brackets. Use ½ x 1 ¾ bolts, nuts, flat and spring washers (supplied). NTE: Position bolts with nuts to centre of vehicle to alloy easy access for tightening. Check for positioning of protection bar returns; ensure that returns finish with wheel arch. TIGHTEN BLTS to 92FT/LBS torque (minimum). 12. Fit Barjo LED indicator / park lights into protection bar as per instructions supplied with the LED indicator kit. NTE: Ensure park light is to outside. 2 13. Connect indicator / park light wiring and check for correct operation. 14. Attach alloy fill in panel (supplied) to bottom of protection bar with six tek screw (supplied). Trim bottom edge of plastic inner guard if necessary and tuck into end cap of bumper on protection bar. ENSURE NUMBER PLATE IS CLEARLY VISABLE ENSURE THESE INSTRUCTINS ARE LEFT WITH VEHICLE WNER AND/R PERATR Note: When fitting/refitting the licence plate to the vehicle, ensure there is no obstruction to licence plate vision in accordance with local authorities. If required relocate licence plate to an alternate location. Further VFPS Notes: a) Do not attach VFPS to the vehicle using anchorages not intended for this purpose (e.g. engine mounting bolts). b) Do not use this product for any vehicle make or model, other than those specified by the VFPS manufacturer. c) Do not remove the plaque or label from the VFPS. d) Do not modify the structure of the VFPS in any way. e) No accessory or fitment should project forward of the VFPS forward profile. f) ENSURE THESE INSTRUCTINS ARE LEFT WITH VEHICLE WNER AND/R PERATR. IMPRTANT INFRMATIN Periodically check bolts and nuts for correct tightness, especially if travelling on rough roads FITTING KIT 1 Pair steel mounting brackets. 1 ECB LED Indicator / Park light kit 1 Pair backing plates. 6 Cable locks ¾ x ½ bolts and nuts. 1 Alloy fill in panel. 22 ½ flat washers. 6 12g x 20mm self-drilling tek screws. 12 ½ spring washers..
