12 TRENDS IN SE ASIA HEAVY LIFTING Observations Cranes Composition Similar to other market (Europe, America, etc), S.E Asia has a wide range of cranes available in the market. Mobile Cranes capacity ranges from 50 ton to 1,200 ton and Crawler Crane ranges from 50 ton to 1,600 ton. 100 to 200 ton class cranes are the workhorse of the construction & oil & gas industry. High capacity cranes are mobilized from project to project around the region. In recent years, compact and long boom 100 ton (i.e. LTM ) is gaining popularity in Singapore. This long boom crane has high manoeuvrability within the jobsite, and versatile in their lifting considering the very long boom.

13 TRENDS IN SE ASIA HEAVY LIFTING Observations Cranes Composition The 500 ton mobile crane is one of the most popular among the high capacity class crane (easy to deploy and versatility). Singapore alone has a total of 16 unit. For smaller capacity cranes (100 ton and below), Asian brands (Tadano, Kato, Kobelco, Sany, XCMG, etc) are generally more popular among crane companies compare to European / American brands (Liebherr, Demag, Groove, Manitowac, etc). Drivers for development Government advocating for greener environment and safer workplace through changes in legislation.

14 TRENDS IN SE ASIA HEAVY LIFTING Observations Drivers for development Manufacture fitting new engines to meet counties new emission standards requirements (e.g Stage 3a, Stage 4). In recent years there are growing emphasis on complying with axle rating in many parts of the world. Single engine technology enabled weight saving on the superstructure, so that other areas (boom length, chassis strength) can be enhanced, via the weight saving of the engine. Extension of Coverage Extension of coverage from Factories to all workplaces where any lifting operation involving the use of a Crane to carried out 2. Development and Implementation of Lifting Plan Lifting operations are high-risk activities that require thorough and prior planning. New regulations require that a Responsible Person to establish and implement a Lifting Plan before any Lifting Operations 3. Enhancement of Duties of Lifting Supervisors It includes to supervise all lifting operations by mobile or tower crane in accordance with Lifting Plan as well as to brief all operations, riggers and signalman on Lifting Plan. 4. Enhancement of Mobile Cranes Mobile cranes are commonly used in lifting operations at workplaces. Proper operation of mobile cranes is crucial to ensure the safety of workers and members of the public. All mobile cranes are required to install or retrofit with data loggers by August 2018
