1 Fitting Instructions: Tiger (050cc) Box Pannier Kit - A95080 Box Pannier Kit, US, CA, SG - A Throughout this operation, ensure that the motorcycle is stabilised and adequately supported on a paddock stand to prevent risk of injury from the motorcycle falling. Always have Triumph approved parts, accessories and conversions fitted by a trained technician of an authorised Triumph dealer. The fitment of parts, accessories and conversions by a technician who is not of an authorised Triumph dealer may affect the handling, stability or other aspects of the motorcycles operation which may result in loss of motorcycle control and an accident cefo 7 Parts Supplied:. 2 NOTE This accessory kit is to be used in conjunction with A Grab rail kit. Failure to tighten any of the fasteners to the correct torque may result in loss of motorcycle control and an accident. This accessory kit is designed for use on Triumph Tiger (050cc) motorcycles only and should not be fitted to any other Triumph model, or to any other manufacturer s motorcycle. Fitting this accessory kit to any other Triumph model, or to any other manufacturer s motorcycle, may interfere with the rider and could affect the stability and handling of the motorcycle leading to loss of control and an accident. Lock Barrel Fitment. Take a lock barrel and key (supplied with the motorcycle), insert the key into the barrel and push the barrel into position in the pannier until it clicks into place. NOTE The lock barrel will only fit one way.. Check the operation of the lock barrel.. Turn the key to the central position and remove the key.. Fit a lock barrel to the remaining pannier in the same manner. Reflector fitment - United States, Canada & Singapore only 0 mm. Left hand pannier. Reflector Forward Forward 50 mm approx. Peel the protective film from the back of each reflector.. Fit one reflector to each pannier, in the position shown ensuring the surface of the pannier is clean and free from grease. Failure to fit a reflector to each pannier as shown contravenes federal law and renders the motorcycle illegal for road use in the United States, Canada and Singapore. Always fit the reflectors as shown. 50 mm approx. Right hand pannier. Reflector 0 mm A , Issue, ADC 87

3 Pannier Rail Fitment. If not already fitted, install the grab rail kit (Triumph part number A ). 6. Secure the bracket to the right hand side of the rear subframe with the M8 x 0 mm bolt supplied. Do not fully tighten the bolt at this stage.. Position the motorcycle on a paddock stand.. Remove the seat and disconnect the battery, negative (black) lead first.. Remove the bungs from both sides of the grab rail (if already fitted). NOTE Retain the bungs for use if the motorcycle is returned to original condition. Caution When fitting the intermediate brackets, and until all pannier rail fixings are tightened, ensure the rear panel painted surface is protected from damage. Damage to the rear panel painted surfaces could result from inadequate care during installation of the intermediate brackets and pannier rails. 5. Recover the right hand intermediate bracket from the kit and attach the foam rubber pad to the underside of the bracket as shown below.. Right hand intermediate bracket. M8 x 0 mm bolt. Rear subframe 7. Fit the left hand intermediate bracket in the same manner. 8. Recover the right hand pannier rail from the kit. 9. Recover six compression limiters from the kit and press into the holes in the pannier rail as shown. cefn. Intermediate bracket. Pad. Compression limiters. Pannier rail A , Issue, ADC 87

4 0. Loosely secure the centre of the pannier rail to the right hand intermediate bracket with the two M6 x 5 mm capscrews, nuts and washers supplied. Do not fully tighten the fixings at this stage.. Recover the right hand socket locator bracket and a rubber boot from the kit. Fit the rubber boot over the end of the socket locator. ceff. Right hand pannier rail. M6 x 5 mm capscrews. M6 nuts. Washers. Align the upper end of the pannier rail to the grab rail. Secure with the M6 x 0 mm capscrews and washers supplied. Do not fully tighten the capscrews at this stage.. Socket locator. Rubber boot. Position the right hand socket locator bracket to the inside of the lower end of the pannier rail. Secure the bracket with the M6 x 0 mm capscrews, nuts and washers. Do not fully tighten the fixings at this stage. 5. Pannier rail. Grab rail. M6 x 0 mm capscrews and washers. Fit the left hand pannier rail in the same manner.. Right hand locator bracket. Right hand pannier rail. M6 x 0 mm capscrews. Washers 5. M6 nuts A , Issue, ADC 87

5 5. Fit the lower end of the socket locator bracket to the inside face of the passenger footrest hanger. Secure with the M8 x 0 mm bolt. Tighten the bolt to 7 Nm. release. Lift the carrying handle to its fully raised position. cefi. Socket locator bracket. Passenger footrest hanger. M8 x 0 mm bolt 6. Tighten the intermediate bracket bolt to 7 Nm. cddo. Carrying handle. Position the pannier against the pannier rail and engage the front fixed hook of the pannier with the front locating point on the rail. The rear fixed hook should be above the pannier rail at this point. 7. Tighten all pannier rail fixings to 9 Nm. 8. Fit the left hand socket locator bracket in the same manner. 9. Reconnect the battery, positive (red) lead first and refit the seat. Mounting the Panniers. Insert the key into the lock. Turn the key anti-clockwise and the carrying handle will o. Front fixed hook (pannier). Front locating point (pannier rail). Rear fixed hook. Lower the rear fixed hook to the pannier rail ensuring that the end of the locating A , Issue, ADC 87 5

6 bracket fits into the locating cup moulded into the side of the pannier. fixings to the correct torques and recheck that the pannier now moves freely. cefm. Pannier. Locator cup. Locator bracket. Lock the pannier to the rail by turning and holding the key anti-clockwise and at the same time pressing the carrying handle to the fully closed position. Turn the key to the central 'LOCK' position and remove it. cefj. Free movement direction 6. Mount the remaining pannier in the same manner. 7. Fit the 8 caps to the M6 nuts on the pannier rail. The pannier must be allowed to move from side to side on the socket locator bracket. If the pannier is not free to move from side to side on the socket locator bracket, the stability and handling characteristics of the motorcycle may be affected leading to loss of control and an accident. 5. Check that the pannier locator cup moves freely on the socket locator bracket as shown below. If the pannier does not move freely, loosen all pannier rail and socket locator bracket fixings and reposition the pannier rail. Re-tighten all cefl. Pannier rail. M6 nuts. Caps A , Issue, ADC 87 6

7 Pannier Operation. Carrying handle. Press plate. key To unlock the lid of the pannier, insert the key. Turn the key to the 'OPEN' position, then press down on the press plate. The lid can then be opened. To lock the lid of the pannier, turn the key to the 'OPEN' position, press down on the press plate and close the lid then release the press plate. Turn the key to the central 'LOCK' position and remove it. If the key cannot be removed, repeat the lid locking procedure making sure the lid is properly closed and the press plate has returned to the fully locked position. To unlock and remove the pannier from the pannier rail, insert the key into the lock and turn it anti-clockwise whilst lifting the carrying handle to the fully raised position. Use the carrying handle to lift the pannier free from the pannier rail. A , Issue, ADC 87 7

8 Fitting Instructions: Tiger (050cc) Box Pannier Kit - A95080 Box Pannier Kit, US, CA, SG - A The maximum safe load for each pannier is 5 Kg ( lbs). Never exceed this loading limit as this may cause the motorcycle to become unstable leading to loss of control and an accident. In all cases, loads must be evenly distributed on both sides of the motorcycle. Uneven loading may cause instability, loss of control and an accident. After fitting the accessory kit the motorcycle will exhibit new handling characteristics. Operate the motorcycle in a safe area free from traffic to gain familiarity with any new handling characteristics. Operation of the motorcycle when not familiar with any new handling characteristics may result in loss of motorcycle control and an accident. Never ride an accessory equipped motorcycle (including those fitted with Triumph approved windscreens and luggage systems) at speeds above 80 mph (0 km/h). The presence of accessories such as windscreens and luggage systems will cause changes in the stability and handling of the motorcycle. Failure to allow for changes in motorcycle stability may lead to loss of control or an accident. Remember that the 80 mph (0 k/mh) limit will be reduced by the fitting of non-approved accessories, incorrect loading, worn tyres, overall motorcycle condition and poor road or weather conditions. This motorcycle must not be operated above the legal road speed limit except in authorised closed course conditions. Only operate this Triumph motorcycle at high speed in closed-course on-road competition or on closed course racetracks. High speed operation should only be attempted by riders who have been instructed in the techniques necessary for high speed riding and are familiar with the motorcycle s characteristics in all conditions. High speed operation in any other circumstances is dangerous and will lead to loss of motorcycle control and an accident. A , Issue, ADC 87 8

Incorrect loading may result in an unsafe riding condition leading to an accident. Always ensure any loads carried are evenly distributed on both sides of the motorcycle. Ensure that the load is correctly secured such that it will not move around while the motorcycle is in motion. Always check the load security regularly (though not while the motorcycle is in motion) and ensure that the load does not extend beyond the rear of the motorcycle. Never exceed the maximum vehicle loading weight as stated in the Owner s Handbook. This maximum loading weight is made up from the combined weight of the rider, passenger, any accessories fitted and any load carried. After fitting or removing luggage, operate the motorcycle in a safe area free from traffic to gain familiarity with the new handling characteristics. Operation when not familiar with the new characteristics of the motorcycle may result in loss of control and an accident. Never ride an accessory equipped motorcycle (especially those fitted with a pannier or top box system) at speeds above the legal speed limit or at a speed inappropriate for the circumstances. Speeds in excess of 0 km/h (80 mph) should not be attempted on an accessory equipped motorcycle even where the legal speed limit permits this. The presence of accessories will cause changes in the stability and handling of the motorcycle. Failure to allow for changes in motorcycle stability may lead to loss of control or an accident. Remember that the 0 km/h (80 mph) absolute limit will be reduced by the fitting of nonapproved accessories, incorrect loading, worn tyres, overall motorcycle condition and poor road or weather conditions.
