Better by design, the P Series does a thousand and one everyday jobs of pulling, stretching and tensioning. Standard features All P Series manual ratchet pullers have a 4:1 design factor, rated for pulling applications only. Handle and frame are heavy gauge steel with rivet construction and slip-resistant grip. All steel parts are plated for years of useful life. Exclusive long life "buttress tooth" cast gear design has no laminated plates to separate or wear and provides maximum strength. Sturdy steel drive and holding pawls have long life, stainless steel springs. All pivot points are hardened steel. Safety latch hooks are drop forged steel, heat treated and plated for corrosion resistance. Top hook rotates 360 for easy operation. Cast-aluminium drum has a "through-the-drum" anchor, larger diameter and a drum guard. This means the wire rope won't come loose, bends less so it lasts longer and spools evenly while rewinding. Standard features Enhanced safety Meets all pertinent world standards. Innovative "Torsion-Lok" brake system ensures positive brake engagement. A unique safety feature only available on L5H. Free chain knob with colour-coded red/green indicator window shows at a glance if the hoist is in "load" or "free chain" position. Easy to read instructions, are all conveniently located on the handle, and colour coordinated with the free chain knob. Forged alloy steel load hooks have wide throat openings with a slip resistant barbed tip to better retain slings designed to spread at % of the rated load to indicate a clear visual warning of hoist overload. 14 MLK - HLK Air Chain Hoists Features and benefits 14 Benefits Safety The CE mark on the MLK and HLK hoists is your assurance all the safety features are included in compliance with the European Machinery Directive. 100 % duty cycle Air hoists can be operated continuously, as air motor don't heat up! Environment Dust, dirt, moisture and corrosive gases are kept out of the motor by air pressure that runs it. This basic fact makes air hoists the first choice in foundries, electroplating shops, etc No electrical hazard As no electricity is used, the freedom from electrical shock and the use of air power in explosive environments are obvious advantages. This is why air hoists are used extensively in flammable environments found in chemical plants, refineries, etc. Spark resistant models are also available. Accurate load spotting Simple speed and directional controls provide precise spotting capabilities. Manual, easy to operate air valves admit air to the motor through a variable orifice. Complete control, from an inching crawl to full speed, is available without expensive electric control systems. Most parts interchangeable and low maintenance Motor, brake and throttle parts are interchangeable with all current Ingersoll-Rand air chain hoists. Adjustment of screws will provide maximum control for each hoisting application. 9 - PHS progressive pilot pendent control Furnishes a variable pressure signal to the valve chest where flow to hoist is metered accordingly. Air to run hoist motor does not travel through pendent, thus pendent length does not affect performance. Control hoses are flexible and easily converted to different lengths. Guards on either side of levers are cast-in for protection against accidental operation Emergency stop button In the event of an emergency situation the operator can safely stop the hoist (and trolley): the emergency stop device is connected to a shut-off valve, in the hoist body, acting directly on the main air flow (and not only on the pendent air supply) Two-piece, single-line hook block Two-piece "clam shell" design entraps chain links and hook bearing without using small load bearing pins or fasteners Link load chain Zinc plated steel chain as standard. 25 Palair Plus Lube-Free Hoist 0.25 to 2 metric ton lifting capacity Conformance with FEM and CE Regulations PALAIR PLUS has been designed in conformance with the requirements set by the FEM Standard (classification 1Am), and the latest European Machinery Directive. Lube-free air motor PALAIR PLUS is powered by the unique, non metallic, geared tooth ROTORAIR motor, renowned for its durability in working with "poor" air in unfavourable conditions. This has been proven by field experience on winches and hoists in difficult environments such as construction, marine and mining. Life testing has now established that no oil at all is required to maintain its effective performance. The advantages are worth noting: No environmental pollution from the exhaust. Savings on installation and maintenance (no need to fill out-ofthe-way or forgotten oilers). The reliability of air hoisting is now available for clean rooms, food processing areas, the textile industry or any area where exhaust oil mist cannot be tolerated. The concept is also an insurance against irregular maintenance. Note: PALAIR PLUS will operate just as well with lubricated air. Chain lubrication is a separate maintenance item and must be performed as outlined in the operation and maintenance manual. Variable speed with "PHS" progressive pendent or pull chain control PALAIR PLUS is remote controlled by the "PHS" piloted pendent (Pendent High Sensitivity) allowing infinitely variable up and down speeds with complete operator control: The operator can precisely control the load with one hand on the pendent and the other hand guiding the load. The PHS pendent is fitted as standard with an emergency stop device acting directly on the main air flow (the shutoff valve is incorporated in the hoist body): This device is compulsory to meet the European Machinery Directives (as per EN418 standard). The PHS pendent is available in one motor version for a top hook suspension hoist or a hoist fitted with a manual trolley, and in two motor version for a hoist fitted with a motorised trolley. Overload Protection Device An overload protection device is already compulsory in several countries and the European Machinery Directive includes this requirement for working loads of 1000 kg and above. The PALAIR PLUS overload protection device meets all regulations without penalising performance, even at the rated capacity. The efficiency and accuracy of the system are excellent. The PALAIR PLUS overload protection device is adjusted at the factory at 120 % of the safe working load. In addition, it is completely integrated in the motor body, which does not penalise the headroom, unlike external devices. The U.S.D.A. accepted features and lube free operation make this hoist ideally suited for industries in food processing, pharmaceuticals, clean rooms, paint booths, textiles, or wherever oil-free operation and corrosion resistance is required. Here is why the Palair Premium has U.S.D.A. acceptance for meat and poultry equipment as listed in the FSIS Directive Corrosion resistance materials - metal parts are either stainless steel 316, electroless nickel treated or nickel diffused. Electroless nickel is a high-heat chemical treatment and provides high wear durability and will not flake off like paint. Stainless steel 316 is highly corrosion resistant and is used for load hooks, bottom blocks and load chain for models with these stainless steel options. Nickel diffused is a patented nickel treatment used on Ingersoll-Rand's full strength corrosion resistant chain. 34 PT Trolley Series Plain hook-on, 0.5 to 5 metric ton capacity A plain hook-on style trolley rated for both manuel or powered hoists; the versatility to fit most types of beams; with compatibility to all hoist brands. Selection criteria The standard models are designed for more permanent installations with usual beam widths. The PT-8 Series are designed to offer a maximum versatility; they feature a wider hanger shaft with suspension bail allowing hoist attachment either directly to the shaft or to the suspension bail provided. The -8 Series are ideal for frequent hoist change-out or oversize loads. Standard features The 5:1 design factor allow the PT Series to be used with both manual or powered hoists. Meets pertinent European standards. The side plates, including the rails sweeps/drop stops, are made of cold formed steel for strength, durability and even load distribution. The wheel axles are "rivet-locked" in place so they don't come loose. They are not knurled, welded or modified bolts. The wheels are cast iron. The universal tread fits either flat or tapered beams. The TVP and TVG Series can also be used for translating loads with air chain hoists. They feature a patented adjusting system allowing quick and easy installations. Standard features Patented, quick adjustable, "Threaded bolt" suspension shaft fits a wide variety of beam widths. No hand tools are required to assemble and adjust the trolley. Trolleys wheels and side plates rotate freely on the threaded suspension shaft. 42 Spark and Corrosion Resistant Protection S.COR.E TM For Chain Hoists and Trolleys The S.COR.E Series product line is intended to provide improved levels of corrosion and sparkresistant protection for manual, pneumatic hoists and trolleys, with capacities available from 0.5 to 20 tons. The S.COR.E Series of options provides for improved protection, durability and performance for hoist operations in corrosive or harsh environments. It is generally accepted that rusty and / or corroded steel is more likely to generate sparks than if free from corrosion or rust. Therefore, any improvement in corrosion or rust-resistance results in improved spark-resistance. A spark of sufficient heat to ignite the surrounding atmosphere is generally unlikely in mechanical hoisting equipment, but it may potentially be generated by friction during operation or unintentional impact of hoist or trolley with other metal components. In order to provide the user with corrosion and spark-resistance protection, Ingersoll-Rand offers different levels of protection from which you can select to fit your particular needs. The levels of protection offered meet Ingersoll-Rand's interpretation of existing industry specifications and / or requirements.
