2 General description A new challenge was the compaction of waste and recyclable material in various roll-of containers at different internal locations. The Mobil-Jumbo is a mobile Roll-Packer that grips, tears up and compacts waste and recyclable fractions in open containers in an effective way. By means of a heavy compaction drum with special teeth even huge amounts of waste can be reduced within short time to a minimum of the original volume. Based on experience the disposal trips can be reduced by approx. 60%. The containers can be allocated at varying positions of any place within a site. The Mobil-Jumbo is particularly suited for bulky and voluminous waste as wooden boxes, pallets, big cardboard, scrap, green waste, etc. The machine is driven by a robust and economical diesel engine. This engine is responsible for the independent moving of the machine and also for the compaction of the machine. An additional option is to drive the engine for the compaction operation via the electric power supply. The special flexible tubular construction of booms and base frame is made of qualitative high-class steel. Approved for decades with low-wearing hinges for the daily use in different waste fractions. This combination absorbs highest torsional moments. The hydraulic hoses are protected by robust 4mm steel cover sheets. The Mobil-Jumbo can be used in open containers up to a length of 7 meters. It is possible to compact from the discharging side as well as from the pick-up side of the container. The working area of the compaction drum can be overlooked well from the inside of the driver`s cabin. Therefor the operator has the possibility to interfere in the working process if required. In addition to that the cabin offers protection against climatic conditions. NEW! - Now the operator can adjust the compaction way for different container lengths from inside the cabin! The drive of the compaction drum is effected by hydraulic engines inside the drum which are supported by a hydraulic system. The machine reaches a speed of approx. 6 km/h and can be moved on an even or slightly rising ground (max. inclination 11%). The ground surface has to be solid (blacktop, pavement, hard and fast gravel, etc.). It is intended to use the Mobil-Jumbo only inside a closed area or on work yards. Among others an audible warning alarm while driving backwards is included as standard. 2 copyright

3 Technical details driving and compaction operation Hydraulic The hydraulic unit is divided into two independent systems: One system controls the traction drive and the steering. The second system switches the working hydraulic for the compaction operation. This is based on the solid and maintenance low hydraulic components like they are used also on the proven BERG- MANN Roll-Packer RP Driving- and compaction mode The low maintenance hydraulic motors inside the compaction drum are supplied by the hydraulic system and provide the drive and rotation of the drum. New on model type VI is the drive concept. In contrast to the prior model now an electro-hydraulic piston pump activates the two front wheel motors stepless by a joystick that is operated by the driver. Whilst driving backwards an acoustic warning is given. The steering of the Mobile Jumbo is effected by a conventional steering-wheel via the hydraulic system. The handbrake will be connected electrically. Additionally, the operator can easily connect the compaction operation with the switch of the joystick`s knob. An intervention into the automatic compaction mode via the operation knob is possible at any time. A module is available as additional accessory which enables the compaction operation by means of an electrical power supply. 3 copyright

4 Drive wheels The Mobil-Jumbo type VI is equipped with 4 profiled heavy duty wheels which are strapped with solid rubber. The traction drive is effected by the front wheels and the steering by the rear axle. It is new that the front wheels are not mounted any longer on front extensions which are surrounding the container. The machine width has been reduced by approx. 500mm and the balance point has been displaced in a way that the Mobil Jumbo simply can be driven in front of one of the face sides of the container and then start with the operation. Cabin NEW DESIGN (since 10/2013) vibration absorber The cabin makes it possible for the operator to always have a good insight into the container. As a consequence he can always interfere into the operating procedure. As standard the front window is equipped with with a safety grid. The operator can handle the functions compaction operation, driving operation or container lifting easily and uncomplicated with the joystick. Optional available are a cabin heating, an air conditioner, a radio, a reversing video system and much more. The setting oft he rolling way will also be done via the joystick. With only a few and easy steps it is possible to adapt the compaction way to different container lengths and save these settings. Optionally it is possible to programme different container lengths via a long-term memory and recall them afterwards by means of a selection switch. The cabin is equipped with an ergonomical, upholstered, washable seat with backrest. By means of vibration absorber the cabin is degenerated of the machine itself against vibrations. The operator always has a good field of view due to the vitrification. One of the windows is constructed as a sliding window. A fan is responsible for the cabin`s heating and a non fogged front window during adverse weather conditions. 4 copyright

5 Ladder and safety handrail The driver`s cabin can be reached easily by a ladder. The handrail and the nonslip coating ensure a safe hold on the machine. Comfort seat An ergonomic seat is available for the operator. Windscreen wiper A windscreen wiper with parallel wiper arms on the front window provides a free front view. Illumination Two head lamps are mounted on the front side of the cabin for the illumination of the working area respectively the driveway. Safety glass and safety guard The all around windows of the driver`s cabin guarantee a clear view to all areas of the machine. The windows are made out of safety glass whereby one side windows is constructed as a slide window. The front window is standardly protected by a solid grid. Indication- and operation instruments The indication and operation instruments for the drive and compaction operation are placed on the ergonomically arranged control panel. Besides the joystick and various function switches there is the operation hour counter, a fuel indicator and also a display for the engine control on the operator panel. The digital speed indicator receives the data directly from the control unit. Service and maintenance Amply dimensioned and lockable maintenance doors and covers allow a convenient access to the main important technical elements inside the machine. 5 copyright

6 Trust in experience of more than 30 years Idea & fabrication: Roll-Packer from 1981! For more than 30 years BERGMANN produces the system of the rolling compaction drum in an open container. Idea, conception and development are attributed to the company founder Heinrich Bergmann. The implementation and the patent application (no ) happened in the year At that time the lifting of the drum had to be done with a hydraulic hand operated pump! Due to the variety of possible applications (e.g. for domestic waste, cardboard packaging, foils, right up to one -way pallets and bulky waste) the first Roll-Packer Jumbo was designed in Since then its success model was of course extended, TÜV-GS certified and it is part of Bergmann`s product range up to the present day. The JUMBO Roll-Packer as of 1986! Due to increased customer wishes for more flexibility the first on rails mounted Roll-Packer Traversing System was constructed in the year /2000 the first prototype of the Mobil Jumbo Type I was built and patented (no ). Already in 2001 the second version of the Mobil Jumbo (Type II) was originated. With the idea-protected container moving device (no ) the Mobil Jumbo Type III obtained new importance in view of flexibility and efficiency. Via a new drive concept the Mobil Jumbo Type V, that has replaced the prior series, was optimized.
