The quarter-turn operation offers a quick way to isolate a portion of a system. Handles of the ball valve should be oriented to indicate the internal position of the valve. When the handle is inline with ports, it is in the open position, and when it is perpendicular to the ports, it is in the closed position. Suction ball valves can be equipped with a limit switch. This switch can be wired to the motor starter circuit to prevent the pump from being started with the suction line closed. High-pressure ball valves can be used throughout the hydraulic system to isolate a circuit or component for maintenance or as part of the system operation. Care should be given to relieve downstream pressure if the valve is to be used for maintenance procedures. Series BVHP High Pressure Ball Valve The BVHP Series is used for shut-off applications.
