3 . TR T STRUTS. The following simple maintenance procedures will ensure maximum R filtering efficiency and a longer filter life.. R cartridges should be examined frequently until a pattern of usage is established.. ailure to replace cartridges in an expedient fashion may result in excessive pressure drop and the possibility of contaminant carry over. Refer to the R artridge hangeut alculator available on Thermal s website for recommended change out schedules. This calculator allows the user to determine an accurate cartridge replacement schedule based on their specific application. f the calculator is unavailable, replace cartridges every 0 days or when the cartridge appears to be contaminated.. o not subject the unit to vapours or liquids from synthetic solvents, acetone, methanol, esters, lacquer thinners, phosphates, etc.. T R RTRS WR WR. ever replace filter cartridge when the unit is under pressure. lways follow safe work procedures when working with high pressure.. lose inlet, wait for unit to vent, then close the outlet isolation valve to the R filter.. To vent filter, open drain cock. ake certain filter is TY VT and under pressure prior to removing the top end cap.. To remove the end cap: depress, turn counter clockwise and pull out. T S ST UTS.. nspect filter media. Replace when completely saturated, or earlier. WR WR. o not reuse contaminated media. 5. nsert new R cartridges (sewn end down) into the filter unit. 6. Replace end cap, close drain cock and open isolation valves before returning R unit to service. asten the setscrew ensuring the cap is closed and unable to be removed under pressure. 4 . TR STT STRUTS. or maximum efficiency, R unit should be installed as indicated in igure.. nstall in a vertical position only.. Tighten fittings into casting 6.0 to 6.5 turns for 60 and 60 and 6.5 to 7.0 turns for 00, 50, 00 and 50. o not overtighten threaded connections. This may lead to thread damage or possible cracking of the casting.. nsure flow direction is as indicated on the unit. 5. nstallation of drain leg is highly recommended.
