1 May 2002 SPORTS CAR CLUB OF AMERICA, EASTERN TENNESSEE REGION #68 Meeting Reminder We have a new meeting place. We meet at the Texas Roadhouse just east of West Town Mall. Meetings are at 7:00pm on the 1 st Tuesday of each month. Board members should be there by 6:30pm. Solo II Registration & Tech Solo II competitors are reminded that registration closes at 11:00 am. Tech inspection closes at 11:15. If you do not make these deadlines you will not be able to run the event. Minutes April 2 nd, 2002 Board Meeting Wayne Henry called the meeting to order. A motion was made to approve the minutes by Mark Irwin, Bill Johnson seconded, motion passed. Treasurer report-ron Hurst-The report is about the same as last month. We have $6000 in checking and $3000 in savings. Newsletter/website-Dave Disney-A newsletter should go out in about a week. Dogwood Grand Prix-Wayne- SCCA granted us a one-year reprieve. SOLO-Dave Yoder-We had a great event at Oak Ridge. He has received an inquiry from an English reported about Dogwood. He would like to do an article on us since he is already booked to come to this area. Dave asked if the group could put on a parking lot event. Mark Pilson suggested we try to get Bristol. Dave Yoder asked the group to choose between Oak Ridge and Wm Blount as back ups. Oak Ridge will be the backup. Wayne told the group they would have to help Dave put it on. Competition Report-Wayne-Bill J., Gary and Mark I. did a wet National in Atlanta. Bill finished 4th and Gary 2nd. Wayne served as a tech steward. Dave Disney asked about John Brown. Wayne reported he is doing fine. Debbie has '01 Dogwood Grand Prix shirts for sale. The money comes to the club. ETR stickers-dave Yoder moved we accept the sticker Mark designed and Dave Disney seconded, motion passed. We will have 500 run. Dave Yoder made the motion to authorize up to $1200 for stickers, Ron Hurst seconded, motion passed. Mark Pilson asked about changing savings to be for property. Ron suggested we keep it as is. Debbie asked to have the Board come at 6:30 for Board meetings. The Board will meet at 6:30 going forward. The meeting was adjourned. 1

Wayne Henry called the meeting to order. The minutes were distributed, Mark Pilson made the motion to approve, David Disney seconded. Passed Newsletter/Website-David Disney-A newsletter has not been done recently since there was nothing to put in it. David will do one soon with the Solo results. He needs articles. DGP-Wayne-As most everyone knows we didn't have the DGP. Debbie and Wayne are supposed to meet with Dogwood this month to discuss the possibilities of doing it next year. SOLO-Dave Yoder-The event to replace Dogwood was held at Oak Ridge Mall. Dave reminded everyone that the event is not over until the trailer leaves the site. Timing and scoring asked that the numbers be on the car. Lyonel suggested we use 8 x 10 sheets of paper for numbers so that everyone would have them. Mark Pilson made a report on the new ETR t-shirts. Lee Hammer modeled. Competition Report-Lee Graser-Jim Stockburger has gotten his license again. Rally -Skip Howard-Rally is catching on in the US. We have lots of opportunities for courses in our area. We would have to start with Rally Crosses to get people involved. Skip would be willing to help get things started. He would talk to other regions to see how they are running their programs. 2

3 Mark Pilson brought up purchasing land again. Wayne asked Mark to chair a committee to explore buying land. The committee will be Mack Fraser, Lee Graser, Ron Hurst. Wayne announced that the Board should come at 6:30 next meeting. This is so Debbie can hear what is being said. A request was made to change the night. It didn't go.
