2 Paris The Salon Rétromobile, held every year in Paris at the start of February, has become the European counterpart to the summer event at Pebble Beach in the US. For the last eight years, the Artcurial Motorcars sale has provided the keenly anticipated highlight of the Show, becoming the most prestigious annual sale in Europe. For the 2018 edition, the Artcurial Motorcars team has assembled a selection of 254 Collectors Automobiles and Motorcycles that promises plenty of bidding battles amongst international enthusiasts. The drivers lap of honour in the Ferrari 275P #0816 with 2 Scuderia Ferrari mechanics Archives Bertrand Dubuc Rétromobile 2018 by Artcurial Motorcars returns to the stage at Salon Rétromobile for four exceptional sales to be held in a convivial atmosphere by the trio Poulain/Lamoure/Novikoff : Friday 9 February for Collectors Automobiles, Saturday 10 February for the Guélon and Broual Collections, and Sunday 11 February for the Racing, Flying & Yachting sale. Artcurial Motorcars is renowned for its headline cars and record sales and the 1964 Le Mans 24 Hour Race-winning Ferrari 275P from the Bardinon Collection is set to ignite the 2018 sale! Racing as number 20, the prototype 275P led Ferrari to victory, driven by the celebrated duo Jean Guichet and Nino Vaccarella. During the fiercely contested race, the car covered km at an average speed of km/h. After Le Mans, the car competed at the highest level in races in the US before being acquired by Pierre Bardinon in Along with this car, collectors will discover a wide range of vehicles covering all periods in automobile history. 3 The Collections The auction house has established a reputation for selling important private collections. Not only do these collections showcase fabulous pieces assembled with dedication and passion, they also tell the stories of the men and women who have spent their lives searching, accumulating, maintaining and conserving these machines. It is the relationship between the collector and his collection that Artcurial Motorcars will promote this year, with no less than seven private collections presented in Rétromobile 2018 by Artcurial Motorcars : The Jean-Claude Miloé Collection, comprising four important Porsche including a 1964 Porsche 904 GTS that participated in the Tour de France auto in period. The Volante Collection, celebrating the famous French coachbuilder Vanvooren. The Guélon Collection, one of the most important collections of early motorcycles, from the first machines to the 1930s. The Reinders Collection, for lovers of the Citroën marque and Chapron-bodied cars. Two important private French collections. These comprise an Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 SS III series Zagato, a René Bonnet Aerodjet LM6 that participated in the 1963 Le Mans 24H, an ex-agostini Alpine 1600 S Group 4 Competition Client and the 1954 Maserati A6 GCS/53 Spyder n 645 from the 1955 Mille Miglia, driven by Attilio Buffa. In 1964 he opened the Briare museum to showcase these automobiles, cyclecars and the work of little known manufacturers. His son, Michel Broual helped to restore the cars that his father rescued. 4 Collection Reinders The Dutch collector Richard Reinders, a long-time Citroën enthusiast, started collecting 40 years ago.
