4 PIRELLI TYRES - TOP PERFORMANCE Founded in 1872, Pirelli has a presence on four continents with 23 industrial sites and operates through a capillary sales network in over 160 countries. In line with the strategy of focusing on premium quality and Green Performance, Pirelli, which has always invested in research and development, strives constantly for higher quality, better technology and lower environmental impact. Efforts towards these aims are also made by Pirelli Eco Technology which is focused on developing technologies to control vehicle polluting emissions, and by Pirelli Ambiente which operates in the area of renewable energy sources. In pursuing its objectives, Pirelli is committed to combining economic success with social responsibility. In line with an industrial tradition that dates back over a century, Pirelli continues to invest in international expansion projects while maintaining strong roots in the local communities where it operates. In the industrial vehicle tyre lines, Pirelli Tyre has progressively increased its attention on markets in emerging countries, investing in Brazil, the Middle East, China and Mexico. It has also given more focus to producing tyres with higher technological content and to developing solutions and services for fleets. The goal is to achieve better mileage and higher efficiency from fuel consumption by improving resistance to rolling and increasing eco-compatible elements in general. The renewable materials used and their durability is reflected by length of the tyre s first life as well as by the number of reconstructions that can be achieved on the same carcass. All the new tyres in the 01 series have the latest generation SATT structure in common, the most advanced structure available for producing Truck tyres which is the basis for the extra-long life of the product, the high retreadability, the excellent even wear and the improved driving precision. At the same time, the Truck Business Unit is investing even more in terms of fleet services and solutions (Pirelli Fleet Solutions), including CQ24 International (the 24/7 roadside assistance service in the event of tyre breakdown) and Cyber Fleet (a tyre pressure monitoring system). The objective is to offer a range of high performance products and advanced solutions for fleets, to provide efficient and safe mobility. The real innovation in the range began in 2009 with the introduction of the first Series 01 line on Regional (FR:01 and TR:01) and Trailer (ST:01) segments. Then, in 2011, it was enhanced with three new lines designed respectively for use in critical winter conditions W:01 (winter), long distance haulage H:01 (highway) and construction vehicles G:01 (gravel, on/ off) for a total of six new treads available in an astonishing 22 different sizes. The Series:01 products also bear the ECOIMPACT logo. Developed with new profiles, structures and materials to meet the needs of professional operators, they are at the very top of the European market in terms of high mileage, low rolling resistance (and hence high fuel economy) and respect for the environment, thanks to their low noise and the highly aromatic oil free (HAOF) materials. 1 PIRELLI TRUCK TYRES.

5 PRODUCT SEGMENTATION Pirelli industrial vehicle segmentation is based on the concept of severity. The classic division between on/off-road has been further split into different areas of use classified according to the growing severity of the road surface on which the vehicle usually travels. The severity parameter has a direct effect on all tyre selection variables, both technical (materials utilised, design, etc.) and financial (wear, running costs, length of first life and useful life, etc.). The combination of severity and vehicle type provides optimum tyre specifications for each segment. Further details of this definition, allowing each type of use to be clearly identified, are set out in the following chart. Plus Versions Specially recommended under the most extreme conditions of use: high temperatures, fully laden, difficult road conditions. PIRELLI SEGMENTATION - WINTER LOW SEVERITY Products designed for use over long and medium distances (H and R) under critical weather conditions (below 4 C) and on snow-covered surfaces. Products designed for long-haul transport vehicles on motorways or arterial roads with very low specific treadwear conditions. ON MEDIUM SEVERITY Products designed for medium/long-haul vehicles with slightly abrasive road surfaces, winding or mountainous roads. SEVERITY HIGH SEVERITY Products designed for use on urban and suburban passenger vehicles in stop & go traffic conditions, low average speed, continual changes in the road surface (asphalt, concrete, cobblestones) and high degree of abrasion. ON/OFF Products designed for mixed use vehicles on the road, on construction sites and under slightly-aggressive tread-wear conditions. ON/OFF + OFF MULTIPURPOSE Products designed for vehicles used solely on construction sites, in quarries and mining operations with highlyaggressive tread-wear conditions. Products designed for vehicles used in demanding offthe-road situations on various types of surface (asphalt, track, muddy or grassy terrain, sand). Typical use of military vehicles. 2

(H) SECTION HEIGHT (mm) Half difference between the overall and the nominal rim. (OD) OVERALL DIAMETER (mm) The of an inflated tyre at the outermost surface of the tread. (Rstat) STATIC LADEN RADIUS (mm) The distance between wheel centre and road surface referring to a tyre inflated and loaded at the values shown in the table under static conditions. ROLLING CIRCUMFERENCE (mm) The distance covered in one complete revolution of the tyre under load and pressure conditions indicated in the tables. (A) MINIMUM DUAL SPACING FOR TWIN FITMENTS (mm Dual spacing is the distance between the centre lines of the twin tyres. The A min values refer to tyres without chains and may also be applied in the case of the fitment of chains for twin tyres.
