2 Adjust the upper and lower frames by loosening both Adjustment Knobs to free the Clamp Locks.

3 a. With Clamp Lock freed, adjust the Upper Frame until it rests on the vehicle. b. This position is relative to the Lower Frame and will depend on the vehicle shape. Caution: Some vehicles have a spoiler. Do not use this product if any part of the rack contacts the spoiler.

4 Lower Frame a. The location of the Lower Frame is extremely important to the load. b. A common location is a well-supported license plate depression, just above or below the numbers. c. Press the area firmly with your hand and if deformation occurs, choose another location. Adjust the Upper Frame and Lower Frame so that Load Arms are just above horizontal. Caution: Do not place the Lower Frame on glass, plastic, or thin metal. Some SUV s, vans, and wagons have a large section of poorly supported metal that will dent under weight Tighten Adjustment Knobs until the Clamp Locks are well seated. If the frames feel loose, disengage the Adjustment Knobs and try again.

Upper Hooks and Straps Insert the Upper Hooks into the leading edge of the hatch or trunk. Adjust the Upper Straps by pulling on the ends. Straps can be loosened by pressing the metal Buckles. Caution: Some vehicles have a spoiler. Do not use this product if any part of the rack contacts the spoiler.

6 2. Lower Hooks and Straps The primary choice is to attach the Lower Hooks to the bottom of the trunk/hatch. The secondary choice is to attach the Lower Hooks under the bumper if there is a rigid, metal attachment point. Otherwise, attach the Lower Hooks to tie-down hooks underneath the vehicle or holes in the vehicle s frame. Warning: Do not attach the Lower Hooks to glass or plastic. 3. Adjust the Lower Straps by pulling on the ends. Straps can be loosened by pressing the metal Buckles. Caution: Keep Straps away from hot vehicle exhaust. Keep Straps from rubbing on sharp metal edges. Do not attach Lower Hooks to plastic bumpers.

4. Side Hooks and Straps a. Verify that the rack is centered on the vehicle. Warning: Do not attach the Lower Hooks to glass or plastic. 5. Attach the Side Hooks to the side of the trunk/hatch.

Make sure that the will not slide up or down when tightened. Note: If it is difficult to get the Hook in, insert it at a wider section and then slide it into place. Adjust the Side Straps by pulling on the ends. Straps can be loosened by pressing the metal Buckles.

8 Loading Bikes Load the heaviest bike onto the rack first. The first bike should always be loaded with the chain away from the vehicle. Ensure that the bike frame is seated on the Foam. Alternate bike directions to avoid interference. Tightly secure SoftWraps over bike frame to secure bike to rack arms. Secure the front wheel on the bike closest to the car. Final Check Tighten the Upper Straps and Side Straps again after bikes are loaded. Straps may slack and cause Hooks to disengage when bikes were loaded on rack. Make sure Load Arms are just above horizontal. Make sure bikes have sufficient clearance from the ground. Make sure that bikes are secured by SoftWraps. Before driving away, read all warnings.

9 Warnings Maximum weight load is 40 lbs (27kg). Do not carry tandem or recumbent bicycles. Remove any bike attachments. Straps must be tightened after bikes are loaded. Strap tension must be checked periodically during travel. Straps loosen over time. Check before each use; tighten if necessary. Failure to check and tighten Straps can result in property damage, personal injury, or death. Never drive off-road with bicycles loaded. Do not let bicycle tires or Straps hang near vehicle s hot exhaust. Do not install onto trailers, campers, or RVs. Never open trunk/hatch with carrier installed. Opening the hatch or trunk with carrier installed could result in damage to the vehicle. Replace any of the Straps and Hooks that appear worn or damaged. Excessive tightening of the Straps may cause damage to softer body materials. Rear window wiper may not be usable while rack is installed. Do not allow wiper to contact any part of the rack. Do not use this product if any part of the rack contacts the spoiler. SUVs, vans, and wagons with a gap between the rear spoiler and rear window or hatch must route Upper Straps under the spoiler when possible. Do not allow Straps to contact spoiler. For convertible vehicles, do not raise or lower top while carrier is installed. For convertible vehicles, do not allow the Upper Frame of the carrier to rest on car convertible top. Remove the rack before entering an automatic car wash. Remove rack from vehicle and clean pads and contact points on vehicle regularly. Remove rack from vehicle when rack is not being used to carry bikes.
