12 PROPERTY REGISTRATION Registering your property is easy using our online form which allows you to enter serial numbers, descriptions and even photos. Providing this information makes it easier for us to correctly identify and return stolen property. You may register laptops, phones, tablets, bicycles, mopeds and more. Be sure to have handy any relevant serial numbers, make/model information, photos and S.T.O.P. tag numbers Remember, this service helps us identify your property if stolen and recovered. You are still required to register your bicycles and mopeds with Parking Services. Project I.D. We engrave your valuables (computers, ipods, cell phones, and more) with your last name, first initial and last four numbers of your social security number, register and store the information in a database in the event your item is stolen. S.T.O.P. Tag S.T.O.P. (Security Tracking Of Office Property) is a highly visible anti-theft tag and registration process that deters theft by making the laptop nearly impossible to sell. Removal of the security plate would physically alter the computer s casing. A Stolen Property tattoo lies underneath the security plate. This service is available for $20 at the Russell House Information Desk.

13 BICYCLE SAFETY TIPS It is required that all Bicycles used on campus be registered with USC Parking Services at Pendleton Street Garage or the Bicycle Shop at the Blatt. The registration is free of charge. All bikes should be parked at designated bike racks. For safety helmets should be worn / all traffic signs and signals must be obeyed. Immediately report any suspicious activity near bicycle racks to USC Police Department by dialing 911 or U Locks are suggested as the best form of bike lock Bicycle Make, Model, Serial Number Locations Make and Model Serial # Headset Secure bicycle by locking the bike frame to the rack. 14 SCOOTERS AND MOPED LAWS Motorcycles, scooters, and mopeds must have a valid permit to park on campus. Motorcycles, scooters, mopeds should be parked in designated motorcycle spaces and prohibited from parking in regular spaces in garages, surface lots, and metered areas on campus Operation of motorcycles, scooters, and mopeds on sidewalks and walkways is strictly prohibited. Helmet Law requires operators of motorcycles and scooters including passengers wear a helmet under age or 21. Optional for those 21 and older. All vehicles that are considered scooters must be registered and insured as motorcycles. Mopeds are required to be registered but not insured.

15 DRIVING AND PARKING AROUND CAMPUS Obey all traffic signs and signals (No right turn on red when posted) Rollup windows and lock doors Do not leave valuables in plain view Contact USC Police Department immediately if you see any suspicious activity in the parking lots or garages.

18 FIREARMS SC Firearms Law prohibits the display or carry of firearms onto the premises of property owned, operated, leased, or controlled by the university or into any publicly-owned building without the express written permission of university officials.
