The ParkLink web page contains helpful information and answers to many commonly-asked questions. The web page is easily accessed from the City s main website at www.raleighnc.

On-Street Parking The on-street program is operated and managed by City of Raleigh employees.

2 ParkLink is the branded name of the City of Raleigh s parking program which includes both on-street and off-street programs. ParkLink is a user-pay enterprise in which 100% of all parking revenue remains in the parking fund to cover all operating costs, staff salaries and capital improvement projects. The ParkLink web page contains helpful information and answers to many commonly-asked questions. The web page is easily accessed from the City s main website at by typing parklink in the search box. The following information has been abridged for the purpose of this Parking Guide. On-Street Parking The on-street program is operated and managed by City of Raleigh employees. The business office is located in One Bank of America Plaza, street level at the intersection of Wilmington Street and Cabarrus Street. For customer service, please call ParkLink is responsible for resolving parking issues, enforcement, citation appeals, meter maintenance and collection, as well as issuing all on-street parking permits for construction, the controlled residential parking program, special events and other needs that arise.

Meter Zones There are seven metered parking zones downtown which are in effect from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM weekdays only, except for city-observed holidays.

Simply remember the space number on the curb where you park and enter this number into the nearest pay station and follow the screen prompts to complete your payment.

Off-Street Parking McLaurin Parking Company manages the City s parking facilities and customer accounts.

3 Meter Zones There are seven metered parking zones downtown which are in effect from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM weekdays only, except for city-observed holidays. Each zone can be identified by the color-coded decal along the top of each pay station as well as at the bottom of the Pay to Park signs. Simply remember the space number on the curb where you park and enter this number into the nearest pay station and follow the screen prompts to complete your payment. Payment can also be made at any other pay station in the same color zone. For convenience, the map on the inside of this brochure shows the streets and blocks served by metered parking. Off-Street Parking McLaurin Parking Company manages the City s parking facilities and customer accounts. If you are interested in monthly parking, please contact McLaurin Parking at or apply online at Wayfinding for Large Downtown Special Events To assist customers who are unfamiliar with Downtown decks and their locations, and who may have difficulty finding the deck they parked in at the close of a special event, each of the ParkLink decks has now been colorcoded. These signs will be set up in the vehicular and pedestrian entrances for all city-wide special events so that customers only need to remember the color of the deck they parked in to seek assistance from any police officer or a Downtown Raleigh Safety Ambassador. 5 Parking FAQs Q. What is the fine for meter and time zone violations? A. $20 Q. What are the time zone limits? A. The standard time limit is 2 hours; however there are some areas with lower limits of 1 hr, 30 min, and 15 min for the businesses served in the immediate vicinity. Customers should check the time limit signs before parking. Q. Is there a required distance to park from a driveway? A. Yes. Not less than 5 feet from either side of a private or public driveway. Q. How close may I park to a fire hydrant? A. Not less than 15 feet from either side. Q. How close may I park to a marked crosswalk? A. Not less than 12 feet from either side. Q. How far from the curb am I allowed to park? A. Not more than 12 inches in unlined parking areas. In delineated spaces, no tire can be over a space line. Q. May I park in a materials loading zone? A. Only if you are actively loading or unloading materials. Citations are issued when there is no sign of activity to or from the vehicle. Loading zones have a 1-hour maximum time limit. Q. What is the difference between a Commercial and a regular loading zone? A. Commercial loading zones are restricted to vehicles displaying a commercial tag and/or the company name must be painted or otherwise permanently displayed on at least one side of the vehicle with lettering of at least 2 inches in height. Q. Why was my vehicle booted? A. Vehicles with three (3) or more unpaid citations of at least 90 days are subject to being booted.

6 For Your Safety If Your Vehicle Is Broken Into Or Stolen Call 911 immediately. Stolen vehicles are frequently used in the commission of other crimes. Prompt reporting will help to recover your vehicle and may prevent its use for other illegal purposes. Parking Park in a well-lit busy area, especially in the evening, or if you expect to return to your vehicle late at night. The Downtown Raleigh Safety Ambassadors who patrol our parking decks also provide free safe-walk escorts to and from vehicles upon request. Call them at the number listed below. Please report any safety issues or parking maintenance concerns to McLaurin Parking at the number listed below. Protecting Valuables Take personal items of value with you, or lock them in your trunk. Do not leave luggage, packages and other valuables in plain view to tempt a thief. Engrave accessories such as removable CD players and GPS units with a unique identity number.
