1 "DRC Speedway" Dirt Oval Rule Book LEGAL NOTICE: DRC Speedway "RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE TO ANYONE". We are a privately run Race track operating at a privately owned facility. If we feel a racer and his/her actions are detrimental to our sport and racing community, we can and will refuse race entry and participation. ***Final Decisions regarding rules interpretations are solely at the discretion of the Race Director*** Revised 10/23/2014 General Rules Race Format Heat Races: Each racer will participate in two 4 minute heat races. All first round heat races will be randomly sorted, and all heat races will use a rolling IFMAR start. Heat races will be resorted between rounds based on most laps in least time. The fastest racers from round one will be resorted together and will make up the A-Heat of round #2. After resort, you will be sorted into a heat with racers who performed similar to your first round time. Main Events: All classes will run 4 minute main events. The six racers in each class with the fastest single round times will qualify straight into the A-Main. The next six will be in the B-Main, etc... Top 2 finishers in each lower main will bump up to the next higher main. - NOTE- We may opt for 6 car mains instead of 8 while racing on our smaller winter track. Main Event Grid Lineup: All main events will be lined up according to qualifying position. Lower main transfer drivers will start 7 th and 8 th accordingly. If a racer cannot make the call for a Main Event, his/her grid position will be left open, and they will receive last place points for the main event they were scheduled to race in. There will be no alternates, and we will start in missing man formation. That racer earned that spot, and will not lose it. Track Procedures Turn marshals may not work on or repair cars. All cars must enter and exit the racing surface via the pit lane or designated on/off areas at all times. Any cars damaged and placed in the infield will remain there until that race is over. All drivers must turn marshal the race immediately following their race. All cars will be made available for tech inspection before and after each race. Once a car has gone through tech before the race it must go directly to the track and not to pit area. All cars must have a personal transponder, or it will not be scored. Race Format 8 cars maximum per heat race and Main Event. There will be no fewer than 2 rounds of heat races, unless poor weather or other uncontrollable circumstances arise. Scoring Issues In the event that laps may have been missed by the scoring system, please let the race

2 director know IMMEDIATELY after the race in question. The race director will investigate the situation. It is a judgment call for the race director, based on several factors, including but not limited to: if the system has been having issues or not, and if the race director witnessed the missed laps. If the race director does not witness missed laps first hand, the only other method to be awarded all appropriate laps is to have video evidence of the race to verify lap totals/timing. It is the racers responsibility to have transponders in perfect working order. The Race director will do everything possible to ensure proper scoring in any event, but a non-scoring transponder is not the race director s fault. DRC Speedway Rule Book Disclaimer DRC Speedway rules are based off of the Best of the West Series rules which use a modified form of DODC and BOTW Rules for 10th scale classes. There are a few minor additions to the rule books, and these additions are to help adapt the rules to our race program. If the rule book does not specifically say you can do something, either assume that you cannot, or ask an official for clarification or legality of what you would like to do. Any attempt to cheat the rules or to do anything that is not within the Spirit of the Rules may be deemed illegal at any time. No silicone capped or rubber capped tires are legal for competition in any class. Tire Additives and Warmers Doping of tires will be permitted. All tires MUST be wiped clean prior to being set on the track. If your car leaves obvious tire marks on the track or carpet you may be subject to DQ. Tire warmers are NOT permitted. All Classes: All entries must be 2wd and rear wheel drive only. For turn marshal safety all cars must have a front bumper that is made of a shock absorbing material e.g. nylon, delrin, plastic, kydex etc. Front bumpers must be mounted in such a way that they will contact an object prior to any other portion of the car in a front impact. All cars must have 4- wheel independent suspension. All cars must have single speed transmissions only. All EDM bodies, sprint car bodies and cages must resemble contemporary full scale cars racing in World of Outlaws and DIRT sanctioned events. All corners of bodies and wings must be rounded for safety. Wheelbase for all Sprint cars, EDM s and late models must be within and ". Max width is Sprint Cars All Cars Must have scale appearing cage, hood, side panels, nerf bars and bumpers. Minimum of a 4 post cage required that resembles a drivers cockpit. A driver arm guard area is permitted on right side panel bust must be of reasonable size. All electronics, radio gear, fuel tanks must be positioned inside the cage side frames. Three dimensional scale appearing exhaust headers are recommended, but not mandatory. Rear cage side panels may be used but may not extend more than.250 beyond rear cage frame. No lexan or any other material may be mounted to nerf bars, bumpers, cage, wing or any other part of the car that will trap, alter, or direct air flow for the purpose of gaining an aerodynamic advantage. Must have appropriate openings on both sides of cage in driver compartment, forward portion of side panels can be no taller than highest point of hood. - Maximum Length: " - Maximum width of hood: 3.600" - Maximum cage width at driver halo, down tubes, and top frame rail: 3.600" - Minimum vertical gap from top of hood to front cage crossbar:.750" - Wing minimum height at leading edge: 5.000" from bottom of chassis

3 Wings: Center section and side panels must be made from at least 3 separate pieces of polycarbonate, carbon or aluminum material. All corners and edges must be rounded and free of sharp edges. Main and Front wings must be mounted so that they are centered on cage, no offset wings. Wing center sections must have all 4 corners set at 90 degree angles, no canted or angled panels. Wings must also be mounted level from side to side. Center section of wing may not extend beyond leading or trailing edge of side panels. Side panels must have braces that hold side panel rigid at 90deg. to center section during race conditions. Two braces are required from top of the center foil to the left sideboard and two braces are permitted below the center foil to the right side board. Braces can be a maximum of.750" wide and front edge of front brace must be no more than 1.5 back from side panel leading edge. Side Panels may have front, back, top and bottom turnouts of no more than.375" and are included in max dimension. Flat foil center sections will be allowed a.250 turndown at the leading edge. Power and Weight Rules Turn Motors: 13.5 Turn Classes are Strictly SPEC Classes. ONLY ROAR Approved 13.5 Turn SPEC Motors will be allowed Turn Motors: 17.5 Turn Classes are Strictly SPEC Classes. ONLY ROAR Approved 17.5 Turn SPEC Motors will be allowed. ROAR Approved Batteries: All Batteries used in competition must be ROAR Approved, EXCEPT in the Street Stock Class. 410 Sprint Car Rules - Any ROAR Approved, sensored brushless Motor. Any ESC may be used in ANY mode: (Blinky or Open Timing). Any ROAR Approved 7.4 volt LiPo Battery. - Minimum Weight: 56oz. including transponder - Maximum Wing Size - 6 x Sprint Car Rules - Any 13.5 ROAR Approved Spec Motor, Any ROAR Approved BLINKY MODE ESC. Any ROAR Approved 7.4 volt LiPo Battery. - Minimum Weight: 54oz. including transponder - Maximum Wing Size - 6 x 6 Nitro Sprint Rules - Engines: Any.12 cubic inch engine - ANY Exhaust system may be used. - Weights: Minimum weight is 60 oz. including Transponder and fuel. -Fuel Tank Capacity: 75cc Maximum. -Maximum wing size - 6 x 6. - No lightweight flywheels drive train components, or other exotic parts. Only Standard Steel drive train components may be used. This is to increase durability and minimize cost of competition. Nitro Sprint, 410 Sprint, 360 Sprint, 17.5 Sprint Tire Rules:

4 All cars will use Foam or Rubber Street Treaded tires. Grooving is permitted. No pin tires will be allowed. Battery Safety All racers shall take every precaution to ensure safe charging and discharging techniques with their batteries. This shall include but is not limited to, attentive monitoring of battery during charging. To insure safe charging methods are followed by all competitors, all batteries may be checked prior to each race to ensure battery voltage is a maximum of 8.44 volts or less. In 2014, we will adhere to this rule strictly: If the battery reads 8.45 or more you do not race that race. Second offense results in DISQUALIFICATION from the event. LiPo sacks are recommended for safe charging. ANY battery that is found during pre-tech to be more than 10 degrees Fahrenheit above ambient temperature of a designated pack that is located in tech will not be allowed to race that race. Excess heat and charge voltages over maximum are two dangerous causes of LiPo fires, and safety is the number one concern of the BOTW Series Sportsman Sprint Car Rules: - Sprint Car bodies and wings must adhere to DODC body rules. Maximum 6 x 6 wing. - Any ROAR Approved 7.4 volt LiPo Battery. - Minimum weight is 56oz. Race Ready with Transponder. - Motors OPTION 1: Speed Passion V3 Locked Timing 17.5 Turn Motor. This motor has been sold under two part numbers: Speed Passion Part # SP and Speed Passion Part # V3-FIX. These motors may NOT be modified in ANY way, and must use the stock 10 degree timing plate. This is the same motors ran for BOTW street stock class in Option 2: : ANY ROAR APPROVED 17.5 motor will be allowed with the following penalty: Motor must be set at 0 degrees of timing, or minimum advance possible. IF YOUR OPEN MOTOR CANNOT BE SET TO 0* TIMING, YOU MAY BE PENALIZED AT RACE DIRECTORS DISCRESSION. - All racers must use the SPEC Mandated Spur and pinion gears, under supervision of the race director. - All racers must use a ROAR Blinky Mode ESC. ESC s MUST BE ON THE ROAR APPROVED LIST, and in the zero timing mode or you may not race with the ESC Sportsman Sprint Car SPEC Gear Ratios - All participants will need to adhere to the following SPEC GEAR RATIOS: - Direct Drive Cars: OLD CW DD (GBX2/3) - Must run a 93 tooth 48 pitch spur gear, and 23 tooth pinion gear (4.04 FDR) OR NEW MD/HD/CW DD(Gen 6) - Must run a 81 tooth 48 pitch spur gear, and 20 tooth pinion gear (4.05 FDR) -2.4:1 (B2,B3,CW) Transmissions: Must run a 60 tooth 48 pitch spur gear, and 37 tooth pinion gear (3.89 FDR) -2.6:1 (B4,HD) Transmissions: Must run a 60 tooth 48 pitch spur gear, and 40 tooth pinion gear (3.90 FDR) If you plan on running a vehicle with another type of transmission, let me know so I can calculate a proper gear ratio for you. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Gearbox cars are given some help to make them competitive in this entry level class, and to eliminate any advantage to running a Direct Drive car. Sportsman Sprint SPEC Tire --The Sportsman 17.5 class will run 35 Shore OR HARDER FOAM tires as a SPEC TIRE at all races (indoor and outdoor). Regardless of tire diameter, the same SPEC Gear Ratio must be used. This will prevent racers from truing tires down small for more corner speed, as

5 you will lose straightaway speed. As tires wear, corner speed will increase, and straightaway speed will decrease, resulting in a happy medium, no matter the tire size and 2015 Street Stock Class Rules Legal Chassis Platforms: Any production OFFROAD REAR MOTOR Buggy chassis, Current or vintage. GEAR COVERS ARE MANDATORY FOR TURN MARSHALL SAFETY ON ALL STREET STOCK CARS. All Street Stock cars must use the following SPEC Electronics: - Speed Controls: ANY ROAR Blinky Mode ESC will be allowed. ESC s MUST BE ON THE ROAR APPROVED LIST, or you may not race with the ESC. - Motors: OPTION 1: Speed Passion V3 Locked Timing 17.5 Turn Motor. This motor has been sold under two part numbers: Speed Passion Part # SP and Speed Passion Part # V3-FIX. These motors may NOT be modified in ANY way, and must use the stock 10 degree timing plate. Option 2: : ANY ROAR APPROVED 17.5 motor will be allowed with the following penalty: Motor must be set at 0 degrees of timing, or minimum advance possible. IF YOUR OPEN MOTOR CANNOT BE SET TO 0* TIMING, YOU MAY BE PENALIZED AT RACE DIRECTORS DISCRESSION. - Battery: ANY Brand of 2s Hard Case Li-Po Battery Pack, 3300mAh Maximum Capacity, and 25C maximum rated output will be allowed. Battery must include manufacturer labeling stating battery mah capacity and C rating that meet the class specification. Any battery with labels that are missing, unreadable or appear to have been tampered with or altered will not be allowed.any racer found cheating with their SPEC Motors, Batteries, or ESC s will be immediately disqualified and be banned from Street Stock competition for a period of 1 calendar year from the date of infraction. No tolerance or second chances will be given. The integrity of this SPEC class is more important than a racer trying to find an advantage. - SPEC Bodies: McAllister Racing Street Stock Bodies ONLY:, # Charger, # s Camaro, # s Monte Carlo, # Barracuda, or # Mustang. - Street Stock bodies may not be cut ABOVE molded in cut lines. Full front and rear bumpers must be left intact. -Wheel cutouts may not be excessive in size and may not be so large as to extend onto the horizontal plane of the hood or deck lid. All Street Stock bodies must have a number on the roof and on both drivers and passenger doors for identification and scale realism. WE HAVE TWEAKED A FEW RULES THIS YEAR TO SAVE RACERS MONEY DURING THE OUTDOOR SEASON. RULES FOR INDOOR RACING (DECEMBER MARCH) HAVE REMAINED THE SAME. SEE CHANGES BELOW. CHANGES FOR OUTDOOR SEASON ONLY 35 shore or harder foams are also legal. No gear ratio restrictions. - SPEC Tires: (INDOOR) Tires : Standard Compound CW Street Trac Tires ONLY Front and Rear Inserts: ANY FOAM INSERT Wheels: Any 2.0 to 2.2 offroad buggy Wheel may be used. - SPEC Gear Ratio: (INDOOR) All cars must use a SPEC Gear Ratio, depending on the Transmission ratio of your specific

6 chassis. If your transmission ratio and chassis are not listed, please contact the race director for appropriate gear ratio for your chassis. SPEC Gear Ratios: - 72 Spur, 30 pinion for: Associated RC10B4, Associated B4.1, Kyosho RB5 (2.60:1) - 76 Spur, 29 Pinion for: RC10B2 and B3 (2.40:1), Losi XXX Series and TLR 22 (2.43:1), and Academy GV2 (2.42:1) - 76 Spur, 31 Pinion for: Losi XXX-BK2 (2.56:1) - 78 Spur, 28 Pinion for: Associated RC10 w/stealth Transmission (2.25:1), JRX2 w/xx Retrofit transmission (2.19:1) NO CAR WILL BE ALLOWED TO COMPETE WITHOUT THE SPEC TIRES, BODY, GEAR RATIO, and GEAR COVER. Items You May Adjust: Caster, Camber, Front Toe, Ride Height, Oil, Piston, Spring, Limiting, Factory Shock Locations, rear hub spacing, camber link location, anti-squat, Battery location Forward and aft as your chassis allows. Items You May Not Adjust: Gearing, Rear Toe in, No Sway Bars, No Short Shocks or Aftermarket Towers. Battery must be mounted along centerline of the chassis, ESC must be mounted on left side of chassis, and receiver must be mounted on right side of chassis. No adding Left Side Weight. Any lead added must be done equally Left to right. - Minimum Weight: 57 ounces, race ready. Lead can be added to the chassis for tuning and to achieve minimum weight, however ALL LEAD must be distributed equally along the centerline of the chassis. Any added weight to the left side of the chassis must be matched to an equal amount of weight added to the right side of the chassis. ANY Attempt to overengineer the cars in this class will result in a weight penalty in the rear of the chassis. Short Course Modified (SC MOD) Class Rules -Any 2wd Short course truck based chassis. Rear OR Mid motor will be allowed. Battery down the center line. No offset chassis/batteries/suspension. Wheel base length Width BODY: Must look like USMTS, UMP, or IMCA dirt modifieds Body must cover both rear wheels but must expose the entire tire, No skirting/shielding of rear tire. Front wheels must remain open. Rear spoiler allowed, not to exceed 1.5" off of deck. End caps allowed, may run center support brace. End caps no larger than 1.5"x3". No other side damns or down force device allowed. Max body dimensions: width 13, height 8. Max overall length of body including spoiler 26 1/2 BUMPER: Rear bumpers are required. A front bumper is highly recommended. If no bumper is used, then the front nose must not be asharp or pointy object and must be able to absorb contact. You will be able to fabricate your own body if you'd like but lets stay within the spirit of realistic looking mod bodies without crazy aero. -Any shocks/springs and shock towers. -Any production rubber SCT tire and wheel. You can not custom make or modify tires. Any production (readily available) rubber SCT tire and wheel. Must be mounted on wheel as designed by manufacturer. Wheels may not be modified in any way. Foam inserts may be taped to wheel. -Any rear toe. - Any 540 size Motor. 2 pole or 4 pole sensored or sensorless Any ESC may be used in ANY mode: (Blinky or Open Timing)

SPORT-MOD Class Rules Legal Chassis Platforms: Only BOX STOCK Traxxas Slash chassis will be allowed to race. All SPORT MOD chassis must use the following Stock OEM Electronics: - Traxxas XL-5 Speed Control - Traxxas Titan 12 Turn 550 Brushed Motor - Traxxas 2075 Steering Servo - Battery: ANY Brand of 2s Hard Case Li-Po Battery Pack, 3300mAh Maximum Capacity, and 25C maximum rated output will be allowed. Battery must include manufacturer labeling stating battery mah capacity and C rating that meet the class specification. Any battery with labels that are missing, unreadable or appear to have been tampered with or altered will not be allowed. - SPEC Body: AFX Shark Slash Modified body. This body is CNC Cut to ensure a perfect fit and level playing field. - Sport-Mod bodies must be raced as manufactured. No modification will be permitted. Full rear bumpers must be left intact. Front bumper is optional, but recommended. All Sport-Mod bodies must have a number on the roof and on both drivers and passenger doors for identification and scale realism. - SPEC Tires: - Only Genuine Traxxas Stock compound tires may be used, and must be mounted on Genuine Traxxas wheels with stock inserts. Kit RTR Tires and premounts are suggested. S1 Compound is not permitted. Legal Tires: Traxxas BF Goodrich Mud Terrain Traxxas Stock Slash Tire Traxxas Kumho Road Venture MT - SPEC Gear Ratio: All cars must use the SPEC Gear Ratio which is 86 Spur, 19 Pinion. NO CAR MAY COMPETE WITHOUT THE SPEC ELECTRONICS, TIRES, BODY, GEAR RATIO, and GEAR COVER. Items You May Adjust: Camber, Front Toe, Ride Height, Oil, Piston, Limiting, Factory Shock Locations, Battery location front to rear. Items You May Not Adjust: All chassis must be raced in stock configuration, unless noted above. If it does not specifically say that you CAN do it, assume that you cannot. All Components must remain stock EXCEPT for RPM Parts for Durability. Legal RPM
