12 Engineering Design Overview Liebherr Container Cranes has its own fully functional design department to cover all aspects of the Structural,Mechanical and Electrical design process required for the full product range. The Overall Design encompasses the relevant design areas for the product range we manufacture i.e. STS,RMG,RTG,SC as outlined in this presentation. Each of these while different product types use disciplines based on similar design parameters. On the overall product range we have standardised the drive configurations to optimize the relevant component parts. This involves having main Structural,Mechanical and Electrical configurations so they can slot into the overall product design base range. This allows the use of standard drive equipment so delivery and cost can be controlled. Standard drive equipment allows the ordering of long lead time items to assist production planning and help in the ready availability of spare parts.
