Special meetings may be held from time to time. Notices of special meetings are posted at the City Office. Council meeting agendas are prepared by the City Clerk-Treasurer. If you have an item to be placed on the agenda, please contact the City Clerk-Treasurer at (218) by the Wednesday prior to the council meeting. The City of Baudette is serviced by a highly trained volunteer fire department. The department is equipped with the most current firefighting equipment and continues to upgrade as technology continues to advance. In addition to the fire department, Baudette hosts an excellent first responder squad which consists of several community members. The Baudette Fire & Rescue squad can be dispatched for an emergency by calling 911.
3 City Utilities Electricity, water, sanitary sewer and refuse are provided by the City Baudette Municipal Light & Water. For questions regarding utility bills or services, call the City of Baudette between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday at For after hours or weekend emergencies with regard to the utilities, call and the maintenance department will be dispatched. Billing Cycle: The utility fiscal month runs from approximately the 29th of the month to the 28th of the following month. The following information is directly related to the billing cycle (fiscal month). Account Deposits: All new customers must pay a refundable account deposit or provide an adequate credit reference or sign up for ACH payment. Deposits: $ All Electric Single Family Unit (No other heat source) $ Single Family Unit (Includes Off Peak Heat) $75.00 Apartment paying electric only Your account deposit refund will be applied to your utility account when the account has been in good standing for 12 consecutive timely payments or upon termination of services. Facility/Service Charges/Refuse Charges: A one-time non-refundable connection fee will be assessed to all new accounts. All customer accounts will be charged a monthly facility charge for electric, water and sewer where applicable. Refuse service is mandatory within the city limits and charged monthly. Monthly Billings Payment of Account: All customers will be billed monthly. To avoid disruption of service, payment is due in full by the 20 th of each month. If you will be out of the area for longer than one billing cycle, please provide the office with your forwarding address for mailing or, if you prefer, you may pay in advance to avoid disconnection of service. We now accept credit and debit card payments. Service Interruption: Service may be interrupted for the following reasons 1) Non-payment of utility bill. To have service reinstated, the account must be paid in full plus the appropriate reinstatement or reconnection fees. 2) Customer request. You may request your service be disconnected if you are planning on being out of the area. If you have your service disconnected, reconnection and reinstatement fees will apply.

Municipal Liquor Store and Bottle Shop The city operates two liquor operations one facility is an on and off sale combination store located on North Main Avenue. The second facility is an off sale store and is located on Highway 11 in the Westside Square. The city transfers money from the operations of these stores on an annual basis which allows the council to keep the property tax levy down accordingly. Shopping local keeps money in your pocket!
7 Garbage Service The city contracts with Walleye Capital Sanitation for refuse pick-up. If you have any questions regarding service, please call Dave Beyer at Municipal Solid Waste Walleye Capital Sanitation picks up residential garbage once a week. Each location is limited to four (4) 32 gallon cans. Tuesday Residential pick-up east side of bridge, north side of Hwy 11 and anyone east of the court house on both sides of Hwy 11. Wednesday Westwood Thursday East side of bridge, south side of Hwy 11. Friday Residential pick-up west side of bridge (except Westwood) Recycle Trailer Recycling bins for aluminum, glass and tin are located at the Industrial Park south of the city on Highway 1. Voluntary Recycling Items These items may be bagged separately from household trash OR they may be included with your household trash. All will be picked up weekly by Walleye Capital Sanitation along with your household trash pick-up. If you choose to recycle, please bag separately and follow these guidelines: Aluminum All cans must be empty and free of debris.
8 Tin All types must be empty and free of debris. Labels may be left on. Plastic All types including milk and water jugs, pop bottles, etc. should be empty and free of debris. Labels may be left on. Paper All types including cardboard, newspaper (no junk mail or magazines), office paper (typing, computer, index cards, envelopes, etc.). Mandatory Recycling Items Walleye Capital Sanitation will pick up the 1 st Wednesday of the month. An extra fee may be charged if amount is excessive. These items include: Glass Glass may be set out with garbage but must be separated from household garbage. All types of glass including bottles, ceramics, windows etc., broken or intact. No sorting of color is required. All containers must be empty of food or other materials. Labels may be left on. Scrap Metal All metal items. Appliances Please be advised that Walleye Capital Sanitation will not pick up any appliances without prepayment. The cost will be as follows washers, dryers, refrigerators, ranges, dishwashers and water heaters $20.00 each. Microwaves, dehumidifiers and misc. $15.00 each. TV s and computer monitors $35.00 each. Be further advised that you can take these items to the county landfill and you will pay a lesser disposal fee but to have them picked up these fees will apply. Household Hazardous Waste All types including paint, varnish, cleaners, etc. Fluorescent Light Bulbs Unbroken bulbs must be in a box. If broken, package carefully in sealed container. Yard Waste Leaves and grass clippings properly bundled or bagged. Demolition Waste All types of building material, new and old, except for treated lumber. There may be an extra charge from Walleye Capital Sanitation to pick up. Miscellaneous Other items such as vehicle batteries, used oil, filters, etc. are to be taken to a local service station or dealer.

Contact Baudette City Hall for an application or print from our web site. Animal Control The City of Baudette requires domestic pets to be licensed. You may register your pets at City
10 Hall for a $10.00 bi-annual fee and receive an animal tag with registration number. It is unlawful for dogs and cats to be lose and running at large in the city limits. Any pet found running at large shall be impounded and the owner shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. Government Center Lake of the Woods County Government Center is located at th Ave SE.
