Invented and built a Portable Vehicle Crush Measurement Jig to be used during vehicle examinations. Conducted tests to document the handling dynamics of a sports utility vehicle without a rear wheel. Designed and built a Drag Sled to measure the coefficient of friction between a passenger vehicle tire and a roadway surface. Conducted Commercial Tractor-Trailer Brake Testing to document brake efficiency. Conducted tests to create Non-Deployment events in current General Motors vehicles and downloaded them from the SDM (Sensing and Diagnostic Module) or black box to study the reliability of the crash data. Conducted Scientific Moderate Speed Real World Sideswipe and Intersection Crash Tests to document Vehicles damage profiles, behaviour and Occupants Response. Designed and built a Contrast Board to be used during nighttime visibility assessments. Participated in several daytime and nighttime response time (Perception-Reaction) studies to several roadway hazards as a test subject. Researched Real World driver behaviour at two-way stop controlled intersections and pedestrian mid-block jaywalking behaviour. Developed several computer programs, including the Reconstructionator, a momentum and energy system based reconstruction, to assist in the analysis of vehicle crash dynamics, collision damage, impact speeds and post and statistical calculations of pre-impact sequence of events.
