3 Pipe Handling Systems HDD Pipe Handling Systems The Vacuworx Pipe Handling System offers a versatile material handling solution for the loading, unloading and precise staging of virtually all sizes of concrete, steel, plastic, fiberglass, and cast-iron pipe. The systems have been used to stockpile and load rail cars, handle pipe without endangering personnel in close quarters at in-plant operations, fit concrete and cast-iron pipe together in a ditch, and move heavy construction materials into staging areas. 5 octapad system This 8-pad system is designed for concrete slab removal during road and bridge construction projects. Each pad has individual vacuum that can be shut off for areas of the slab that are too damaged for lifting. The Octapad is designed for use with hydraulic excavators that can lift and place materials directly in a truck for removal from the job-site without re-handling. Innovative vacuum technology allows for complete removal of the slab from the road bed, leaving the sub-base undisturbed for the subsequent patch pour. Lift Capacity of 16,588 lbs. 6 EQUIPMENT FEATURES Vacuum pads have quick fittings and readily interchange to allow for different materials. Enclosed system with safety screens to protect the engine from environmental and jobsite damage. Double set of lugs to suit any single or double vacuum pad arrangement. Power source is a highly reliable self-contained diesel engine with electric start. Direct Acting, 3-way piloted vacuum valve that provides a minimum of 15 minutes of continuous vacuum in the event of power failure. Custom-designed gearbox allows the diesel engine and the proprietary vacuum pump to run together at the most efficient RPM levels. Vacuum source is a proprietary rotary vane pump. Emergency hard wire control. Operation is an electronic wireless remote control transmitter with matched receiver. Allows multiple lifters to work side-by-side without interference from other transmitters. In the event that a stray signal enters the system, the lifter will momentarily pause the operation while maintaining safe vacuum levels. The MC Series is a light-weight vacuum lifter designed for use with compact host vehicles, lower weight specifications, or smaller material dimensions. It is ideal for utility and in-plant applications and has lift capacities ranging from 6,600-11,000 lb (3-5 tonne). While the MC 3 utilizes a gas engine, the MC 5 has the same compact profile with a slightly higher capacity diesel engine. The MC series is limited in steel pipe applications to a maximum of 40 feet in length, for steel pipe in excess of 40 feet please see the RC series of lifters. In steel pipe applications of 40 feet or less the MC series is very effective, the MC3 is limited at 12 O.D. and the MC5 is limited at 18 O.D. in steel pipe applications. The MC series can safely lift larger diameters in shorter lengths and/or lighter materials. 7 RC SERIES tough seal The RC Series can lift up to 22,000-44,000 lb (10-20 tonne) with large-capacity host carriers and can be customized for larger applications. It is best suited for large diameter energy and infrastructure projects, and material handling at port facilities, pipe mills, and storage yards. Self-contained unit with diesel engine can be hooked up in a matter of minutes, and has available remote start options. The Vacuworx Tough Seal pad seal protects material surfaces with no metal contact, and secures proper vacuum even on dirty or somewhat uneven surfaces. It is built to perform at temperatures of up to 215º F and down to -40º F and features UV protection improving pad performance by two to three times over alternative pad technologies. 8 Our History Vacuworx has been leading the world to a safer, more effective material handling environment for over 15 years. The same values, innovation, and integrity behind our first machines in 1999 remain the essential foundations of our engineering, production, and customer service today. May of 1999 Vaculift, Inc. began doing business as Vacuworx International in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The original lifter design the EC6 had a 12,000 lb lift capacity and the powersource was mounted on the rear of the excavator. March 2000 With a lift capacity of 22,000 lb, the RC 10 was introduced, revolutionizing the way energy and water & sewer industries handled pipe in the field. January 2007 In response to rapid growth, Vacuworx moved into an 18,000 square-foot facility in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Diversified capabilities and markets with the development of pads to lift steel plate and concrete slab. November 2007 Moved into and renovated current 60,000 square-foot facility to accommodate full lifter and part inventories for quick demand. December 2008 Featuring a gasoline engine, the lightweight MC 3 mini lifter was launched into production, establishing strong touch points with the utility and compact host equipment markets. May 2011 Vacuworx celebrated its 12th Anniversary and acquired 26,000 square-feet of additional space to make room for new product development and increased demand in the marketplace. August 2012 Launched the Concrete Road Barrier System capable of handling 8,000 lb, unlocking new potential to serve underground construction and road construction markets, as well as defense contractors and US military. February 2014 Introduced the lightweight HDD Pipe Handling System designed to lift and position drill stem in horizontal and directional drilling operations. May 2014 Recipient of 2014 Oklahoma Governor s Award for Excellence in Exporting.
