6 AUTHORISED S AND APPROVAL CRITERIA 90% OF CARS IN FRANCE ARE ACCEPTED ON THE AUTO/. S MUST HAVE A REGISTERED NUMBER PLATE, BE IN GOOD CONDITION AND UNDAMAGED. THERE ARE 3 WAYS TO FIND OUT IF YOUR IS AUTHORISED TO TRAVEL ON AUTO/: Visit Visit a train station, SNCF shop or SNCF approved travel agency Call and say Auto/Train. TWO AND THREE-WHEEL MOTORBIKES Two and three-wheel motorbikes and scooters (except mopeds) are accepted from 49.6 cc if they are no higher than 1.55 m and if their ground clearance is at least 0.10 m. They must respect the same width criteria as cars and have a registered number plate. Any windshields over 1.55 m high must be removed by you before the vehicle can be accepted. 7 A staff member will check your Auto/Train ticket at the Auto/Train station. Expect the handover process for your vehicle to take around 30 minutes (depending on how busy the station is). A staff member will draw up a statement of vehicle recognition as proof of its condition before loading. This document will be signed by you and the staff member. When your car has been accepted, present your tickets if you are heading to your destination by train. Specify whether you want a third party to pick up your vehicle when it arrives. In this case, you must complete a form that is available from Auto/Train reception staff. For safety reasons, you must: FOR CARS : Close your sunroof, boot and tailgate, doors and windows; Retract the radio aerial and remove any accessories (GPS, radio) and other valuable items; Remove any luggage from the roof-rack and empty your roof box; Take down the roof-rack; Give your keys and the code to your anti-theft device (if you have one) to the reception staff; Give any specific instructions about driving your car. If these conditions are not met, your vehicle may not be accepted. FOR MOTORBIKES: Place your luggage in a locked top-box, if you have one. If you do not, no luggage or helmet attached to your motorbike will be accepted. Remove anti-theft devices. Remove the windshield if it is higher than 1.55m. KEEP A SPARE SET OF KEYS WITH YOU. To find the location of your Auto/Train destination station, take a look at the maps on pages 18 to 31 or simply follow the directions from the passenger train station. At the Auto/Train station, a member of the reception staff will check your Auto/Train ticket and give you your keys. If another person is picking up your vehicle, a form of ID (1) will be requested. The date and times of vehicle drop off and collection are written on your Auto/Train ticket. 12 (1) This person must have power of authority or a certificate of company registration no more than 3 months old for a company vehicle. 13
8 EXTRA SERVICES CHAUFFEUR SERVICE IF YOU CANNOT TRAVEL YOURSELF A driver can take your car to or from an Auto/Train station. From 45 (1). Subject to a quote for long distances (from or to Great Britain, Corsica, Lille, Strasbourg ). Book on or by telephone: from 9am to 6pm from Monday to until 28th February 2018, from Monday to from 1st March to 30th September and from Monday to from 1st October to 8th December. FREE SHUTTLE BUSES The Auto/Train stations at Paris Bercy, Avignon, Fréjus- St Raphaël and Perpignan connect to the passenger stations by free shuttle buses. Times of the Auto/Train shuttle services are on pages 19, 20, 22 and 28. RECHARGING ELECTRIC S The Paris Bercy Auto/Train station has a quick charging station for electric cars using the Auto/Train service that meet the CHAdeMO DC standards and AC standard. Information on PARKING BERCY AUTO/ STATION AND REGIONAL STATIONS: From 26th June to 9th September, you can drop off your vehicle free of charge at the Auto/Train station car park the day before its departure or collect it the day after its arrival during opening times. Every additional day will be charged at 15. Outside of this period, the vehicle must be dropped off on the day of its departure and collected on the day of its arrival. Any vehicle not collected on its arrival day will only be released when the Auto/Train station reopens. Every additional day will be charged at 15. NB: The Auto/Train station in Perpignan is only open on the days and at the times given on pages 28 and 29. FREE TRANSPORT FOR LARGE ITEMS OF LUGGAGE The Auto/Train transports at no extra cost (maximum of 2 items per car): Bikes attached to a bike rack that is itself attached to a tow bar. The overall height must not exceed 1.55m, nor the width of your vehicle. Canoes and windsurf boards will be directly attached to the car carriers by our teams. Roof boxes must either be placed inside the vehicle or emptied of their contents by the owners so that the staff can attach them to the car carrier. (1) Prices valid on 1st January
9 LIABILITY AND INSURANCE LUGGAGE IN YOUR Your luggage and personal effects in your vehicle remain under your responsibility and SNCF cannot be held responsible for any damage caused within the limits of its liability. COMPENSATION FOR DAMAGES Within the limits of its liability, SNCF compensates for material damage directly attributable to the transportation on Auto/Train, excluding any other damage. The normal value of the damaged part is limited to 389 (without exceeding a total of per car and per motorbike). The liability of SNCF for loss or damage is governed by articles L.133-1, L.133-3, L and L of the Commercial code. Customer service: SNCF Service Clients Auto/Train Arras Cedex 09 /LUGGAGE INSURANCE For the best possible cover, take out extra insurance for your luggage/vehicle when you buy your ticket (at some stations and SNCF shops in Paris and in some regional Auto/Train stations and on the websites and or when you drop off your vehicle in the Auto/Train stations as noted in the guide (pages 18 to 31). SNCF and its partner AON/HELVETIA offer you two types of insurance cover : LUGGAGE INSURANCE FOR 10: For insured assets of 2 000, with no excess, In the case of a delay attributable to SNCF, compensation up to 100 in additional costs upon presentation of receipts resulting from lack of access to luggage for any delay of over 12 hours (except for strike action). LUGGAGE + INSURANCE FOR 20: For insured assets of for luggage, with no excess, For insured assets of for the vehicle, with no excess, In the case of any delay of over 12 hours attributable to SNCF (except strikes), compensation up to 100 in additional costs upon presentation of receipts resulting from lack of access to luggage, 100 on presentation of the invoice for the hire of a car in case of a delay of over 6 hours attributable to SNCF. The policy document delivered at the time of registration contains full details of the insurance conditions. If you would like to use your own insurer, you will not be able to receive compensation from SNCF or AON/HELVETIA. Any excesses will remain at your charge. NOTE: You have the option of increasing the insurance capital by purchasing several insurance certificates. The Guaranteed Punctuality pledge does not apply to Auto/Train. Customs officials may board the Auto/Train and SNCF is obliged to allow them to board
