Allow 5 minutes for cooling before changing the bulb. Do not place combustibles near bare lit bulb. Fire can result. If the bulb becomes dirty or is touched, it must be cleaned. Clean the bulb with a lint-free cloth moistened with a window cleaner. Allow bulb to dry completely before re-installing. Replace bulb with same type and rating only. This lamp contains a sealed lead acid battery - It must be disposed of properly. Please refer to owner's manual for instructions and precautions. Recharge after each use or every 60 days. This lamp fers features that are not available with any other lamp. This lamp is ideal for use desks, bookcases, dining and patio tables, library, etc. The cordless feature ows use on tables on patio, for accent lighting, or for entertaining. This lamp is pplied in "ready to use" condition - no assembly required. The only thing a user ould do after unpacking the lamp is to: Fully read and understand the instruction manual. Connect the AC charger/adapter. Remove the power switch/dimmer safety tape. Power the charger. Enjoy the lamp immediately! For cordless use, fully charge lamp for 13 hrs. with AC adapter. 3 SHADE POWER PORT SWITCH/DIMMER PERATION/AC CHARGING GREEN CHARGING LED ere is a direct time trade off between lamp operation (brightness) and the time it kes to recharge the battery. Your lamp battery cannot be overcharged if left ntinuously connected to the AC charger/adapter. If the lamp switch is turned off, e green LED will indicate external power and recharging. With the dimmer switch f, allow at least 10 hours for complete recharging if battery is fully discharged. e battery will charge slowly if the lamp is on and the dimmer is set midway. The ttery will not charge or discharge when the lamp is set to full brightness as all ergy supplied by the recharger will be used to power the lamp. The green LED ll change from lit to not lit when battery is fully charged. See table for LED and ttery conditions. ake sure that the AC charger/adapter is powered from the correct AC source. It ust only be powered from 110 volts AC 60 Hz, and kept dry. Only use the suped AC charger/adapter with this lamp. Substituting this AC charger/adapter for other may damage the lamp's internal charging circuits and void the warranty. The shade is attached to the lamp assembly by four wire supports and ring that surrounds the lamp socket assembly. The ring is separated from the cket by unscrewing two Phillips screws. This allows quick access to the bulb. The lb replacement procedure is as follows: Make sure the lamp switch is turned OFF. Lay the lamp on its side. Reach under the shade and locate the two Phillips head screws that secure the ring to the lamp socket. Unscrew (counterclockwise) the two Phillips screws. Carefully separate the shade assembly ring from the lamp socket. Stand the lamp upright on it's base. Using a clean cloth grasp the bulb and pull the bulb straight up and remove it. Set the bulb aside. Using a clean cloth, grasp the new bulb and remove it from the container. Avoid touching the new bulb. Note the positions of the bulbs two pins and the small holes on the bulb socket. 0. Insert the two pins of the new bulb into the socket and make sure they are fully seated in the socket.. Turn on the dimmer and test operation of the bulb. 2. Turn off the lamp and lay the lamp on its side. 3. Place the shade ring on the socket assembly. 4. Replace the two Phillips screws (clockwise to tighten). DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN! 5. Set the lamp upright. 6. Dispose of the burned out bulb in a responsible manner. If the inside of the shade becomes dirty, disassemble as you ould for bulb replacement and clean with window cleaner as above. 3

5 ad-acid batteries require recharging on a regular basis to maintain a full charge d to ensure good battery life. All lead-acid batteries suffer from self-discharge er time, and more rapidly when they are stored at higher temperatures. erefore, these types of batteries need periodic charging to replace energy lost ough self-discharge. When the lamp is not in use, Vector recommends that the ttery is recharged at least every 60 days. All batteries must be recharged as on as possible after each use. If a battery remains in a discharged state, battery e will be reduced. OTE: Recharging battery after each use will prolong battery life; frequent heavy discharges between recharges will reduce battery life. You cannot overcharge the battery with the supplied AC charger/adapter. The time required to fully recharge the battery depends on the charge status of the battery after its use or storage. If the battery is discharged, recharge the battery until the green LED changes from lit to unlit. Fastest recharge is achieved when the lamp switch is OFF. OTE: The supplied AC charger/adapter can be left continuously powered and connected to the lamp without harming the battery. ATTERY REPLACEMENT e rechargeable battery is contained in the base of the lamp. The battery should replaced when it does not hold a charge or does not power the lamp for two urs set to full brightness. Before replacing the battery, check the output of the wer module by powering the lamp at full brightness. Disconnect the AC/DC apter/charger from just the AC outlet. If the lamp becomes dimmer, then the C/DC adapter/charger is operating properly. You will need a 6 volt, 6 ampere ur replacement battery (Vector part VEC199) and a small Phillips screwdriver umber 1 size) four inches long or similar. The procedure to replace the battery is follows: Set the lamp on its side. Unscrew the four screws located under the four rubber pads. (you may have to peel back the rubber pads to locate the screw holes.) (See figure 4) Separate the base bottom from the top. Observe the battery connections - a red wire and a black wire. Lift the battery away from the base and circuits. Remove the slide-off connectors from the battery tab connectors. Note that the tabs are different sizes to avoid confusion. Set the disconnected battery aside. Place the red and black wire connectors on the new battery. 0. Make sure the red wire connector is on the POS (+) terminal and the black wire terminal is on the (-) terminal.. Check lamp for operation by turning on the switch. 4

6 3. Using the screwdriver replace the four screws. Do not overtighten. 4. Charge the battery as instructed above. GURE 4 SCREW SCREW BASE BOTTOM BATTERY DISPOSAL Non-spillable, sealed, lead acid battery: This battery is fully recyclable and should be accepted at any location that accepts common WAYS RECYCLE automotive starter batteries. Examples of places that accept these tteries are: county or municipal recycling drop-off centers, scrap metal dealers d retailers who sell automotive replacement lead acid starter batteries. For more ormation on recycling this battery, call toll-free (877) ATTERY DISPOSAL WARNINGS: Do not dispose of the battery in fire as this may result in an explosion. Before disposing of the battery, protect exposed terminals with heavy-duty electrical tape to prevent shorting (shorting can result in injury or fire). 7 1 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY PROGRAM This limited warranty program is the only one that applies to this product, and it sets forth all the responsibilities of Vector Manufacturing, Ltd., regarding this product. There is no other warranty, other than described herein. This Vector Manufacturing, Ltd. product is warranted, to the original purchaser only, to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for one year from the date of purchase without additional charge. The warranty does not extend to subsequent purchasers or users. Vector Manufacturing, Ltd. will not be responsible for any amount of damage in excess of the retail purchase price of the product under any circumstances. Incidental and consequential damages are specifically excluded from coverage under this warranty. This product is not intended for commercial use. This warranty does not apply to accessories or damage to units from misuse or incorrect installation. Misuse includes wiring or connecting to improper polarity power sources. RETURN/REPAIR POLICY: Defective products, other than accessories, may be returned postage prepaid to Vector Manufacturing. Any defective product, other than accessories, that is returned to Vector Manufacturing within 30 days of the date of purchase will be replaced free of charge. If such a product is returned more than 30 days but less than one year from the purchase date, Vector Manufacturing will repair the unit or, at its option, replace it free of charge. If the unit is repaired, new or reconditioned replacement parts may be used, at Vector Manufacturing s option. A unit may be replaced with a new or reconditioned unit of the same or comparable design. The repaired or replaced unit will then be warranted under the terms of the remainder of the warranty period. The customer is responsible for the shipping charges on all returned items after 30 days. During the warranty period, Vector Manufacturing, Ltd. will be responsible for the return shipping charges. LIMITATIONS: This warranty does not cover accessories, bulbs, fuses and batteries, defects resulting from normal wear and tear (including chips, scratches, abrasions, discoloration or fading due to usage or exposure to sunlight), accidents, damage during shipping to our service facility, alterations, unauthorized use or repair, neglect, misuse, abuse, failure to follow instructions for care and maintenance, fire, flood and Acts of God. When returning a product, include your name, address, phone number, dated sales receipt (or copy) and a description of the reason for return and product serial number.
