2 INTRODUCTION Thank you for choosing the Raya Octa Fluorescent 7 Socket Fixture. Using Edison-base compact fluorescent lamps (CFL), this powerful light fixture accepts up to 105-watt bulbs per socket, providing excellent illumination coverage. This compact and light-weight lighting fixture is ideal for studio and on-location shooting. The device s two rocker switches provide the user with light customization control, while the fluorescent bulbs provide a comfortable, low-heat lighting solution. With the 5/8 light stand mount and locking tilt knob, the Raya Octa Fluorescent Fixture has the ability to tilt and rotate in many ways. When coupled with the Raya Octa 32 Softbox for OF Fixtures, the unit multiplies your lighting possibilities. The Raya Octa Fluorescent 7 Socket Fixture offers a practical and economic solution for broad, soft lighting in studio or location photo or video scenarios.

3 PRECAUTIONS Please read and follow these instructions before use. Keep this manual in a safe place. Keep this product away from water and any flammable gases or liquids. Use only the correct, recommended voltage. Only use spiral fluorescent bulbs with this product. Do not use bulbs that exceed 105 watts (See pg. 5). When all sockets are filled, a maximum of a 50-watt CFL bulb is recommended for each socket for a total of 350 watts (equivalent to approximately 1400 watts of tungsten light). Do not attempt to disassemble or repair this product. Doing so could cause an electric shock and bodily harm. Disassembling this product will void the warranty. CFL bulbs contain mercury, which can be harmful. Dispose of bulbs properly. If bulb breaks, do not touch without necessary protection. For use with spiral fluorescent bulbs only. Never use with household tungsten bulbs. Clean this product with a soft, dry cloth. Keep this product away from children. Make sure that this product is intact and that there are no missing parts. 5 INSTRUCTIONS INSTALL THE LIGHTS This product should be used with fluorescent CFL light bulbs only. A maximum of a 50-watt CFL bulb is recommended per socket. To install a light bulb into a light socket, firmly grasp the base of the bulb and insert it into the bulb socket. Gently rotate the bulb clockwise until secure. NOTE: The fixture will only accommodate up to two 105-watt bulbs due to their size. MOUNTING THE LIGHT TO A LIGHT STAND 1. On the bottom of the fixture, loosen the locking mount knob and insert it onto the light stand mount. 2. Secure the fixture by tightening the locking mount knob. 3. To adjust the tilt angle of the fixture, hold the handle on the back of the light and loosen the locking tilt knob. Once the unit has been placed in the desired position, secure the fixture by tightening the locking mount knob. 5

6 POWERING THE LIGHT The Raya Octa Fluorescent Fixture is a multi-voltage 100~240VAC 50/60Hz device, powered by a wall outlet. The fixture power is controlled using the two power switches on the back of the unit. Each switch is dedicated to a set of lights, as indicated by their associated illustrations. Switch one or both of them to the ON position based on your desired lighting scenario. NOTE: A power plug adapter will be necessary for use outside of North America. CHANGING THE FUSE 6 1. With a Phillips head or small slotted screwdriver, turn the fuse holder a quarter-turn counterclockwise. The fuse holder will pop out of the socket. 2. Remove the fuse holder from the device. Remove the fuse from its holder. 3. Insert the replacement fuse into the holder. 4. Reinstall the fuse holder to the light fixture. 5. Using your screwdriver, push the fuse holder back into the socket and turn it clockwise until secure.

With the use of the internal diffusion baffle and front diffuser, the soft box spreads and softens light, creating a more even distribution on your photography subject. TROUBLESHOOTING Make sure the fixture s power cord plug is fully inserted into the power outlet. Ensure the power switches on the back of the unit are in the ON position. Check that the installed fuse and light bulbs are in working order. 8 ONE-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY This RAYA product is warranted to the original purchaser to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal consumer use for a period of one (1) year from the original purchase date or thirty (30) days after replacement, whichever occurs later. The warranty provider s responsibility with respect to this limited warranty shall be limited solely to repair or replacement, at the provider s discretion, of any product that fails during normal use of this product in its intended manner and in its intended environment. Inoperability of the product or part(s) shall be determined by the warranty provider. If the product has been discontinued, the warranty provider reserves the right to replace it with a model of equivalent quality and function. This warranty does not cover damage or defect caused by misuse, neglect, accident, alteration, abuse, improper installation or maintenance.
