1 INFO NOTE: Pugedon is a social responsibility project of Yucesan J.S.C., Arifiye/Sakarya, Turkey. It is a booth with a solar operated mechanism that operates by the insertion of cans, pet and plastic bottles to be recycled and in return provides food and water in its basins for strays, pets and wildlife. Pugedon in Turkey is a commercial project and a movement to raise public awareness for the stray animals and wildlife in general. The Pugedon station has two insertion holes, one for plastic bottles, metal soda cans and small containers and one for the water which the plastic bottles may contain. When a plastic bottle or can is dropped from the hole the unit releasess some kibble to the feeding container below. When the water is poured down the proper hole it directly goes to the water container below. A counter function is now available in Pugedon units with warning sensors, which counts the bottles and gives alert when its capacity is full and when the feeding tank of 10 kg is empty. Booths can come with or without lights, prices vary. The amount of animal food dropped to the basin can be customized and can be increased or decreased according to the place where the Pugedon is being used. Pugedon will fill up when approx. 800 recyclable items are dropped inside. It operates with 12 volts battery charged with solar panel. The battery operates 17 thousand times without recharging and the booth mechanism is tested in R&D trials up to 300 thousand times.

2 Measurements of the cabin are 100X100X200 cm. The metal body of Pugedon weighs 105 kg. In order to feed the cats and dogs with the same food, dog food is preferred. Cat food may be harmful for dogs and cats eat dog food. The food tank is made of 0.6 mm galvanized sheet and takes 10 kg food. The serving basins which the animal use for eating is made of nickel-chromium and sized 30 x 24 cm. A sterilized plastic cleaning brush contained inside, is used to clean the food basin for each Pugedon. All Pugedon equipments come with a full two year manufacturer s warranty. Pugedon has drawn attention from over 20 countries from the world. Some municipalities have bought Pugedon by joint projects with sponsors. The dog food is usually provided by them or the recycling factory or companies who will take the bottles from Pugedon when it is filled. They take bottles and put food into the box.
