It is a oneof-a-kind project that is not only concerned with saving and conserving energy, but about working smarter instead of working harder. While remaining in the air day after day, the Solar Impulse allows us to look beyond conventional belt tightening: it proves convincingly that man can tap into a virtually unlimited supply of solar energy. 5 Plug in to a clean energy future The is all about the benefits of self-supplying energy management. The elevator can be operated by a grid and photovoltaic-panels that contribute to an autonomously operated building. The Solar energy supply is kept at a maximum by the smart Hybrid Power Manager a new component that controls energy supply and is able store energy for a long-lasting clean operation. This assures continuous operation and CO 2 savings.
