2 Uzen oilfield discovery and development history exploration wells drilling in Uzen area started. 5 January Gaziz Abdrazakov team had opened a gas blowout on well K-18 in Uzen area. 15 December 1961 Mikhail Kulebyakin s team had opened an oil-spring on well #1 in Uzen area. April oil production unit Uzen was established. 10 July 1965 the first train with Uzen oil was sent to Atyrau refinery. 16 November 1994 Independent enterprise «Uzenmunaigas» was formed. 16 April 1996 «Uzenmunaigas» was transformed into Open Joint-stock Company «Uzenmunaigas» 1 April after merger with OJSC «Embamunaigas» becomes part of JSC KazMunaiGas Exploration Production

3 Activity of PB Uzenmunaigas Development of oil and gas fields At present, PB Uzenmunaigas develops two oil and gas fields Uzen and Karamandybas, and gas deposits from 7 fields Southern Zhetybai, Aktas, Tasbulat, Western Tenge, Uzen, Karamandybas and Eastern Uzen. Potential of the fields under development Initial geological oil reserves 1129,276 mn. tonnes Initial recoverable reserves - 496,010 mn. tonnes Residual recoverable reserves, as at ,624 mn. tonnes From the field development start, up to produced 316,385 mn. tonnes of oil, the current oil recovery is 28 % from initial geological reserves. Initial geological reserves of natural gas - 54,103 bn.m 3. Residual gas reserves, as at ,515 bn. m 3. As at ,588 bn. m 3 of gas has been produced.

4 Reorganization phases PA Uzenmunaigas" was formed by the Decree 24 of the Ministry of oil and gas industry on 16 November 1994 with the inclusion of 24 production divisions, located in Zhanaozen, occupied in oil and gas production, gas treatment, drilling and wells workover, construction of oil production facilities, transportation units and community facilities. According to the Kazakhstan Government Programme and the Territorial Committee on state property Decree 40/01-5 dated 15 April 1996, PA Uzenmunaigas" was transformed into an open joint-stock company. On 1 April 2004 it was reorganized into Production Branch of JSC KazMunaiGas Exploration Production following the merger with OJSC Embamunaigas.

5 Uzen field specifics Uzen field is a large anticline structure, sized 39 km on 9 km, having exclusively complicated geological structure: In section of Cretaceous and Jurassic deposits more than 100 oil and gas bearing polymict layers located, grouped into 25 horizons. In-place permeability varies from 10 md to 1500 md Porosity 21 24% Uzen field oil is characterized by such specifics as high temperature of degassed crude freezing (+ 32С о ), caused by: High content of paraffin and asphalt and tar components (up to 29%)
