6 Universal Elevator BULK SYSTEMS A/S New Bucket Type 200 We would like to introduce a new type of bucket, which is bigger than the bucket type 160. The new bucket - type will be available as per January Kop 200 v /70 % fyldningsgrad The type 200 buckets will hold a nominal capacity of max. 60 m 3 /h, depending on the elevator s construction form and type of inlet. By way of comparison the buckets type 160 have a nominal capacity of max. 47 m 3 /h. The type 200 buckets are insertable in the elevator type 160 to increase the capacity. The only requirement is replacement of a few guides in the tension section and in the intermediate outlets, if any. The guides in the drive section remain unchanged. The design of the type 200 bucket offers a smaller slope for overlap reversing than the existing type 160 bucket, thus ensuring a reduced amount of spillage under the tension section during normal operation. The buckets are manufactured of a dimensionally very stable type of plastics, providing an improved reliability of operation. This type of plastics is suited for an extended temperature range, being applicable from -20 C up to +120 C. Also the heavily loaded areas have been improved and reinforced. The elevator will bear the designation Simatek Universal Elevator Type 200, but the outer dimensions will remain the same as for the existing type 160 elevator. The elevator type 160 will, however, also be available in future, and the buckets type 160 will still be on stock for delivery from day to day.

18 Universal Elevator BULK SYSTEMS A/S Batch-inlet Description: The new Simatek batch inlet was developed especially for Simatek universal elevators. The conveying of certain products may usually cause a low filling degree and an uneven product distribution in the buckets, with a too low capacity and an increased risk of product waste and stop-down of the system as a consequence. Simatek s batch inlet eliminates this problem, by filling only one bucket at a time. Thus an even distribution in the buckets, an increased capacity, and a high operating reliability is ensured. The system, which is el-pneumatic, is controlled by a Siemens S7 200 PLC with an easily operated panel for the operator to adjust the filling degree of the buckets. Shift from one product type to another is easily arranged without manual adjustment of the inlet. The batch inlet is supplied as a complete unit, consisting of the very inlet and an external operating panel mounted in a dustproof electric cabinet (IP 55). The system is available for all types of universal elevators and is mountable on existing machines as well. The inlet console is compatible with the Simatek vibrating inlet. A B C D E F H T

19 Universal Elevator BULK SYSTEMS A/S Function: Batch-inlet The system is started manually or automatically (external start). The batch inlet will dose a pre-set product amount into each bucket, the exact position of which is indicated by an optical sensor (c). An ultrasonic sensor (b) placed immediately after the batch inlet will measure the filling degree of each single bucket and automatically make corrections in case of deviations from the filling degree required. A level meter (a) installed above the inlet indicates whether sufficient product is available to achieve the required filling degree. If not, the inlet is stopped. 20 Universal Elevator BULK SYSTEMS A/S Automatic chain tension The automatic chain tension adjuster is a new product within the line of extra equipment for Simatek universal elevators. The chain tension adjuster was developed to meet the increasing demand for reliability in service and to ensure low maintenance costs. The chain tension adjuster can be mounted on any existing model from type 12 to 160 H. For new machines, you may order the chain tension adjuster as extra equipment. Description Three units - a power module and two tensioning units - constitute this hydro-pneumatic system. The power module is a hydro-pneumatic unit, which by means of compressed air pressurizes a liquid and distributes the pressure to the tensioning units, thus ensuring exactly the same pressure on both chains of the elevator. Furthermore the power module holds some components for monitoring of the pressure, and alarms to signal any error in the system. The power module is installed at the top of the tension section of the elevator. A B C D E F H T

21 Universal Elevator BULK SYSTEMS A/S Automatic chain tension The tensioning units consist of 1 cylinder each, which are mounted at the sides of the tension section and are connected to the shaft. The cylinders contain a liquid, transforming the pressure from the power module into a force tightening up the chains. By way of a constant pressure on the chains, the cylinder will keep moving to maintain the optimum tensioning, even if the chains are opposed to heavy temperature fluctuations causing an extension. The cylinder will also compensate for any variation of the chain length. Furthermore the tensioning units have mechanical locks, which will be activated in case of a remarkable change of the load on the chains, occasioned by overload or breakdown. The alarm will signal if the mechanical lock is activated, or if the general wear and tear of the chains hinders an optimum tensioning of the chains. Advantages! Intensified reliability in service!
