KG, Fulda, Germany, is using the SPS/IPC/DRIVES exhibition in Nuremberg as an occasion to present a new luxury class paperless recorder, which complements the JUMO LOGOSCREEN range with a high-end product which includes a new operating concept for the user and a multitude of functions. The name JUMO LOGOSCREEN nt stands for paperless recorders in the latest technology, whereby proven functions have been retained and new functions have been implemented. Easy-to-use operation of the instrument and the PC software components, high measurement accuracy (particularly for thermocouple measurements) and high noise immunity were at the forefront during development of the JUMO LOGOSCREEN nt. For applications in security-sensitive areas, due attention was paid to criteria such as tamper-proofing and traceability of the stored process data.

2 Press Release 1450, Page 2 of 5 One particular highlight is the way in which the user can operate the JUMO LOGOSCREEN nt through just one control element, by being able to call up every function of the instrument by rotating and pressing the control knob. Operation like in the luxury automobile sector... The basic version of the LOGOSCREEN nt is fitted with three or six analog measurement input channels, whereby the 3- channel version also includes 8 binary I/Os, an error-signaling relay, as well as an RS232/485 and an Ethernet interface. The number of inputs and outputs can be expanded through plug-in modules up to a maximum of 18 internal analog inputs, thus enabling adaptation to the requirements of the system operator. And, in addition to the internal measurement inputs, up to 24 measurement inputs can be implemented externally. The LOGOSCREEN nt handles all the usual sensor signals (current, voltage, thermocouples, resistance thermometers ) with a 125 msec minimum sampling cycle time. All measurements can be saved in up to nine groups, with various storage cycles.

3 Press Release 1450, Page 3 of 5 Another feature of the JUMO LOGOSCREEN nt is the ability to register data from different processes or batches simultaneously, but independently of one another. For example, up to 3 batches can be started and stopped, displayed and monitored, at different times. Keen savers will like this, since it means that, according to circumstances, up to three normal recorders can be replaced by a single JUMO LOGOSCREEN nt. The JUMO LOGOSCREEN nt expand the usual visualization options available in typical paperless recorders, such as traces, bar graph display, or textual information, with the option of a process diagram presentation. Users can create their own process diagrams and implement them in the instrument. Up to 12 measurements can be shown within these process diagrams. Not only can the new paperless recorder have an enormous number of measurement inputs (up to 18 internally and 24 externally) and binary I/Os (up to 24 internally and externally), but it also offers these features: 27 counter/integrator channels and 9 math channels can be activated.

4 Press Release 1450, Page 4 of 5 The user menu for the instrument is available in a number of languages (English, French, German, Russian, Chinese...). The instrument can be fitted with a Profibus interface, and a connection for a barcode reader. It can also be used as a MODbus master, and offers the possibility of storing customer-specific HTML pages. All this combines to round off the picture, and gives you some idea of the enormous capabilities of this paperless recorder. The instrument, together with all software components, will be available from March 2006.
