The Multivan offers a whole lot more than a whole lot of space. Its unparalleled flexibility is perfect for lives that are always on the move. With up to seven comfortable seats 1), you and your passengers will appreciate the ample head and leg room, even in the second and third rows of seats. Unique: The individual seats in the second row of seats 2) can be rotated by 360 degrees, which enables a rearward facing seating arrangement no complicated reassembly needed (fig. 01). 10 14 15 The Multivan Safety systems Safety systems that are prepared for almost anything. A high level of protection during every journey. Safety systems support the driver, helping to improve the safety and comfort of all vehicle occupants and other road users. Where necessary, the systems intervene in the driving process, and thereby help to reduce the risk of accidents on the road. Electronic Stabilisation Programme. 1) Prevents under- or over-steering via targeted braking of individual wheels. Anti-lock braking system (ABS). Prevents wheel block and, thus, maintains manoeuvrability. Airbags. Provide the best possible protection in the event of head-on and side impacts as standard. The front passenger airbag can be deactivated using the vehicle key when a child seat is fitted. Optional head airbags provide added protection for those in the passenger compartment. 2) Traction control system (ASR). Prevents wheelspin. Electronic differential lock (EDL). Distributes the engine torque to the tyres without slippage. Seat belt warning. If the seat belt is not fastened, the seat belt warning reminds the driver to fasten the belt with a visual warning when the engine is started, and an acoustic warning after setting off. Automatic Post-Collision Braking System. 1) Triggers braking after a collision, with the aim of preventing secondary collisions. The Automatic Post-Collision Braking System activates when two independent sensors detect an accident. After a short delay, the vehicle begins a phased braking action down to 10 km/h, during which the driver can take over at any time. 11 16 17 The Multivan Driver assistance systems Driver assistance systems for more comfort. Support in critical situations. Advanced driver assistance systems aid the driver in the event of critical situations by being able to temporarily assume brake and engine control. Driver Alert System. 2) Uses visual and acoustic warning signals to recommend that the driver takes a break as soon as it registers driving behaviour that indicates tiredness. Brake assist system. Registers the speed at which the brake pedal is pressed. During a reflexive or emergency braking action, it ensures that full brake pressure is built up more quickly. Daytime running lights. Switch on automatically when the ignition is activated and lower the risk of an accident in daylight. Rear View reversing camera. Simplifies parking by showing a limited view of the area behind the vehicle on the display of the radio 1) or navigation system. Additional static guidelines facilitate the parking process. The reversing camera is only available in combination with the tailgate. ParkPilot. 2) Emits audible warnings when obstacles are detected in front of or behind the vehicle when parking, and also provides a visual display 1) of the vehicle s distance from the obstacles. Tyre monitoring display. 2) Warns when there is a possible loss of tyre pressure and indicates to the driver to check tyre pressure as soon as possible. Cruise control. As of a speed of 30 km/h, it maintains the set speed depending on uphill and downhill inclines. Adaptive Cruise Control ACC. 2) Automatically adapts the speed to that of the vehicle driving in front and maintains the distance set by the driver. At the same time, it remains within the set speed. Already includes the Front Assist ambient traffic monitoring system. Lane change assist Side Assist. 2) Displays a warning signal in the door mirror if one of the system s sensors registers a vehicle in the blind spot when changing lanes. High-beam assistant Light Assist. Automatically dips the headlights for oncoming vehicles or vehicles travelling ahead before they are dazzled. Above 60 km/h and in complete darkness, the system automatically switches on the high beam headlights. Fog lights with integrated static turning light function. Ensures optimal visibility in poor weather conditions. The headlight nearest to the corner illuminates the roadside when turning. Hill Start Assist. Can prevent the vehicle from rolling back on inclines by maintaining the brake pressure for a second or two. This makes handling easier when starting up on uphill slopes. Front Assist ambient traffic monitoring system with City Emergency Braking System 3). 2) Uses a radar system to detect situations where the distance to the vehicle in front is critical, and reduces the vehicle s stopping distance. In dangerous situations, the system alerts the driver by means of visual and acoustic signals, and with a warning jolt of the brakes. The engines offer impressively low fuel consumption with every unit and all without dampening driving pleasure. Volkswagen models with BlueMotion Technology are in line with the Think Blue. concept: That is why every single one of the state-of-the-art Euro 6 engines is equipped with a start/stop system, regenerative braking, Hill Start Assist and roll resistanceoptimised tyres. 01 Regenerative braking (not illustrated). This recharges the vehicle battery during overrun and braking phases, thereby relieving strain on the engine and reducing fuel consumption. Roll resistance-optimised tyres (not illustrated). The Multivan makes contact with the road via tyres with optimised rolling resistance. The low rolling resistance reduces fuel consumption, and with it, CO 2 emission. BlueMotion Technology efficiency package (not illustrated). 30 Infotainment Infotainment The Multivan Car-Net Guide & Inform. 1) Expands the internal navigation system with online-based services. For more information see page 74. Volkswagen Media Control (not illustrated). 2) Turn your mobile device into a remote control 3) for the navigation system, and control the audio system using a wireless connection from the comfort of the passenger compartment. Or mirror a navigation route from your tablet onto the colour touchscreen display. Electronic voice amplification (fig. on p. 43). 4) Once enabled, the driver s voice is output through the rear speaker. It can display a variety of file formats from external data sources and connect to a wide range of devices via the three USB and two HDMI ports, one of each of which is positioned conveniently in the lower part of the passenger compartment. Miracast can also be used to mirror a compatible mobile device directly on the screen. Two sets of infrared headphones are included. 06 Voice control. 4) Enables you to operate the telephone, navigation and audio functions without taking your hands off the steering wheel, and call up virtually all of the menus and notifications on the radio or navigation system display using voice commands. 07 DYNAUDIO sound system. 7) Eleven precisely tuned loudspeakers including a central loudspeaker in the dash panel combine with an 11-channel amplifier to deliver a full sound with an output of up to 600 watts. When not in use, the table top can be rotated 90, folded down and lowered into the base. CL PA HL 04 Swivelling seat with integrated child seat. The individual seat with armrests can be changed quickly and easily from a full adult seat with a three-point safety belt into a robust child s seat, and can be swivelled as required all without you breaking out in a sweat. 05 Lashing eyes. There are six lashing eyes to secure your load safely in the passenger compartment and luggage compartment. Net partition (not illustrated). The tear-resistant net partition offers passive protection. It can be stretched to the attachment points behind the B pillar or in front of the D pillar. 06 Seat upholstery on the 3-seater bench seat. When combined with the Nappa 4) leather and Alcantara 5) seat upholstery, the seat s contours are made even sharper, to provide better lateral support. CL PA HL 07 Wood look passenger compartment floor. 6) The durable and washable Dark Wood wood look floor creates a homely ambience in the passenger compartment. CL PA HL 08 Multiflex board. A stable multiflex board with an upholstery cover is available in conjunction with the 3-seater bench seat. It can be secured to the rail system, provides a divider for the boot space, creates an additional storage surface, and increases the loading surface. This option replaces the luggage compartment cover. 09 Good Night Package. Only available in conjunction with the multiflex board. The package is made up of fabric blinds for the windows, a mini reading lamp, a washable cover, and three drawers underneath the 3-seater bench seat. 10 Insulating box. It is electrically operated, and can be used to cool and warm the contents. The anthracite-coloured 32 l insulating box can hold 1.5 l bottles lying down, and 1.0 l bottles standing up. Centre armrest (not illustrated). It can be folded down easily, making the 3-seater bench seat even more comfortable. In conjunction with the Nappa 4) leather and Alcantara 5) seat upholstery, the armrest is integrated into the 3-seater bench seat as standard. CL HL 11 Rubber floor mats. They protect the cab floor from dirt and damp. They can easily be removed and cleaned with water. 12 Carpet floor mats. The robust velours carpet floor mats create a more homely feeling in the driver s cab. Comfort headlining (illustration on page 34, fig. 01). 32 Interior and comfort Interior and comfort The Multivan Leather-covered multifunction steering wheel. It gives you a good grip and is extremely user-friendly. The radio or navigation system, a mobile phone or the cruise control can be controlled using the buttons. Servotronic speed-dependent power-assisted steering can be ordered as an option. It enhances handling when manoeuvring and parking. With the aid of the electronics the power assistance is decreased to an ever greater degree at higher speeds. This allows the driver to control the vehicle in a more precise and targeted manner than with normal power steering. Leather-covered multifunction steering wheel with paddles (not illustrated). 1) In vehicles featuring the dual clutch gearbox DSG the paddles enable sporty gear changes. Anti-theft alarm system (not illustrated). Acoustic and visual signals warn of unauthorised entry. The system is also available with interior monitoring. It can be deactivated via a separate switch if necessary. 02 Climatic air conditioning. This semiautomatic air conditioning system has an interior sensor, and constantly compares the interior temperature with the desired temperature in the cab. It also provides optimal air distribution in the passenger compartment. Illustration shows Multivan Trendline. TL CL 03 Air Care Climatronic air conditioning. This system offers 3-zone temperature control for the driver, front passenger and passengers in the passenger compartment. It recognises the intensity of the sun s rays and the outside temperature, and adds more or less cool air accordingly. The automatic air recirculation function, the air quality sensor, additional air vents in the roof lining of the rear passenger compartment and an auxiliary heater create a pleasant interior climate. The coating of the allergen filter keeps out even very small particles such as allergenic substances. 04 Cruise control. As of a speed of approx. 30 km/h, the cruise control maintains the speed you have selected. This means you can take your foot off the accelerator, while the even driving style helps to reduce fuel consumption. Heated windscreen (not illustrated). 2) Heating elements in the windscreen to ensure rapid visibility to the front even in damp and cold weather. Heated rear window (not illustrated). Assures a good view to the rear even in damp and cold weather. 05 Auxiliary heating system. This works independently of the heating and ventilation systems, and can be controlled via the central console or by remote control. Alternatively, a water heater is also available upon request. 06 Sunblinds. Blinds in the passenger compartment shield passengers from bright sunlight and prying eyes. They can be pulled out easily from the housing at the bottom of the side windows and attached to the top. 07 Sliding/tilting roof. The sliding sun roof can be opened, tilted and closed via the automatic preselection or the turn switch on the roof lining, see also fig. 06. If resistance is met, an electronic trapping protector stops this process immediately. 08 Light and Sight package. Designed to improve visibility, this package consists of an automatically dimming rear view mirror, which protects against dazzling from traffic to the rear, and a rain sensor, which activates the windscreen wipers. The driving light assistant with coming home/leaving home function illuminates the area around the vehicle for improved safety and convenience. Light and Sight package Plus. In addition to the features of the standard Light and Sight package, this version also includes powerful H7 halogen headlights and fog lights. TL 09 Step illumination. The step plate has illuminated lettering. This makes it easier to get in and out of the vehicle, while adding a touch of elegance to the interior. 10 Convenience lighting. Enjoy the cosy atmosphere of the interior thanks to the indirect lighting. The following components are equipped with LEDs: sun visors, roof console in the cab, headlining in the passenger compartment, footwell, door opening levers, and upper storage compartments in the cab doors. 33 Exterior Exterior The Multivan LED head lights. Modern LED technology for dipped and high beams gives the vehicle an attractive lighting signature, at the same time as providing ample light. The LEDs in the head lights also stand out on account of their excellent energy efficiency and long service life. LED number plate light (not illustrated). High reliability with long-lasting LED technology. 02 LED tail lights. 1) Modern LED technology gives the side and braking lights an attractive lighting signature and also optimises visibility. 03 Headlight cleaning system. When the low- or high-beam headlights are turned on, the headlight housing glass is washed once for every five windscreen washes. 04 Electric folding exterior mirrors. The exterior mirrors can be folded inwards electrically using the exterior mirror adjustment switch in the cab door trim or the central locking remote control. 05 Bulli badge. The Bulli badge is available as an alternative to the model designation lettering at the rear. It is fitted on the driver s and front passenger s doors, together with the chrome-look turn signals. Tow bar (not illustrated). It is lockable, removable and has a trailer stabilisation system. 06 Chrome package. This package is just right for those who favour a more stylish appearance. Elegant chrome details accentuate the lower air intake grille, the sides and the rear of the vehicle. CL HL Insulating glass package (not illustrated). It reduces external noise by up to 6 db (A). The windscreen is specially coated and made from insulating glass, while the side windows are reinforced. All windows in the passenger compartment are tinted (privacy glass). The optionally available side windows cannot be supplied in acoustic glass. Electric sliding doors (not illustrated). Equipped with a number of electronic trapping protectors, the sliding doors are easy to operate using either the remote control or a button in the driver's cab. For the Multivan Trendline only one electric sliding door can be ordered. 07 Black solar protection film. 1) It allows only 39% of solar radiation to enter the passenger compartment: 54% is absorbed and 7 % reflected. When combined with privacy glass the windows present an almost opaque appearance. 08 Sliding window. All of the accessories are developed through close cooperation with our Development and Design Department, provide top quality, and are only available at your Volkswagen dealer. This allows functions and usage options to be enhanced to meet your specific needs. To see the full range, please ask your Volkswagen Dealer for the complete accessory catalogue for commercial vehicles Travel and comfort system. This consists of a basic module, which is secured between the headrest braces of the front seats, and several auxiliary modules: there is a tablet holder for a Samsung Galaxy, a second to fourth generation ipad, a first generation ipad Air and an ipad mini. There is also a folding table with a cup holder, a clothes hanger and a sturdy bag hook. The auxiliary modules can simply be attached to the basic module and are easily interchangeable. 02 Tailgate bicycle carrier.* This custom-fit bicycle carrier transports four bicycles safely on the tailgate. The easy-to-secure frame is made from an anodised aluminium profile, can carry up to 60 kg and is suitable for round tube frames of up to 80 mm in diameter. It includes sliding bicycle bars, attachment arms that can be removed with one hand, and securing feet with quick-release fasteners all of which come in particularly useful during loading. The tailgate can still be opened when the bicycle carrier is fitted and no bikes are attached. 03 Wind and rain deflector. When driving with the window slightly open, the deflector effectively reduces spray and wind noise. It also offers protection for when the sun shines from the side. The deflector s shape is an exact match to the vehicle, and can be attached without drilling or adhesives. 04 Basic carrier. A lockable, city-crash-tested basic carrier made of anodised aluminium profile bars is available for the Multivan. It is designed for a load of up to 45 kg, and can be fitted with different carrier systems. 05 Roof box. These large boxes in High Gloss Black are easy to secure thanks to the quickrelease fasteners on the basic carrier, and have a capacity of either 340 or 460 litres. The DuoLift system enables the boxes to be opened from either side. Both boxes can be comfortably sealed with 3-point central locking. 06 Ski and snowboard holder. The lockable ski holder can be mounted to the basic carrier, and allows you to transport up to six pairs of skis, four snowboards or one wakeboard. The wide opening buttons and convenient pull-out function make loading and unloading as easy as possible, even when wearing thick gloves. 07 Luggage net. The tear-resistant, elastic net is simply secured to the standard lashing eyes in the luggage compartment using the integrated hooks. This ensures that small and large objects remain in place. 08 Luggage compartment liner. The light, flexible insert precisely fits the contours of the Multivan. A raised rim of approx. 5 cm around the edge provides protection from moisture and dirt. The diamond pattern on the liner has a non-slip effect. When not in use, the liner can be rolled up to save on space. 09 G0 plus ISOFIX infant seat. This child seat system offers newborn babies and infants up to 15 months (or weighing up to 13 kg) a high level of comfort and optimum protection. The seat s frame, which is firmly secured to the vehicle using the ISOFIX mounting points, is a base for the portable seat shell. The individual seat adjustments and the height-adjustable 5-point harness ensure that the infant is safely secured in the seat shell. This seat system also has a removable sunshade, an adjustable carrying handle and a fabric cover that can easily be removed and washed. 10 G1 ISOFIX DUO child seat plus Top Tether. This comfortable seat system offers children from 8 months up to 4 years old (or 9 to 18 kilograms) optimal support. The individually adjustable seat position and height-adjustable harness ensure that the child is safely secured in the seat shell. The seat is secured to the ISOFIX mounting points and to an additional top tether anchor point on the rear bench seat (Top Tether). 11 G2-3 ISOFIT child seat. Children aged between three and twelve years (15 to 36 kg) can safely and comfortably travel thanks to height-adjustable sleep supports and by adjusting the height and angle of the seat to suit the individual needs of the child.
