1 Introduction Transit and Transit Custom continue to lead the way in the Commercial Vehicle market by continuously innovating in order to meet customers high expectations. This Product Guide will take you through the changes made to Transit and Transit Custom, including the introduction of the new EcoBlue 2.0 L TDCi engine, which is available for the first time on Ford Commercial Vehicles. It also covers improvements in driver assistance features available across both vehicles. 1.1 What s in this Guide? This guide is designed to supplement the elearning Course and provides further details on selected features, including information on competitors which was unavailable at the time of the elearning launch. The guide is split into three separate sections: Common Features, Transit Custom Specific Features, and Transit Specific Features. 1.2 Overview The introduction of the next generation EcoBlue TDCi engine is an important step, ensuring that Ford Commercial Vehicles comply with the more stringent Euro 6 emission standards. The new 2.0 L TDCi engine is making its market debut on Transit and Transit Custom with the following rollout plan: Launch Timing Transit Custom MY Transit MY Mass Production Starts Q Q Expected Arrival in Dealerships Q Q Automatic Transmission / Rear Air-Suspension Addition Transit Custom MY Transit MY Mass Production Starts Q Q Expected Arrival in Dealerships Q Q It is important to note that the above does not include Transits with HDT6 engines (e.g. M2 Bus) which already adhere to Euro 6 emission standards with the current 2.2 L engine. (Please see Section 4 Transit Specific Features for details). 3

1.3 Revised Front Grille To signal a visual differentiation against the outgoing models, there will be a chrome insert added to the front grille of both Transit and Transit Custom. This will act as an indicator of the significant changes that have been made to the powertrains, as well as the improved technological features on each vehicle. 4

1.4 Ford Brand Pillars The new features on Transit and Transit Custom are as follows: Quality New Front-Wheel Drive Automatic Transmission (Transit / Transit Custom) Improved comfort for Transit Custom Kombi passengers due to rear air suspension Introduction of rear air-suspension (Transit Custom and Tourneo Custom) Smart Adaptive Cruise Control with Forward Alert added Introduction of Ford SYNC 2 and Ford SYNC 3 (Transit) Traffic Sign Recognition (Transit / Transit Custom) Green Full range of Euro 6 compliant engines (Transit / Transit Custom) Improved Fuel Economy, CO2 and NOx emissions (Transit / Transit Custom) Safe Side Wind Stabilisation (Transit / Transit Custom) Pre-Collision Assist (Transit / Transit Custom) Roll Stability Control (Transit/ new for Transit Custom) 5

2 Common Features 2.1 Euro 6 Compliant Engines What Is It? The latest European legislation affecting vehicle emissions is known as Euro 6 emission standards, and is related to the control of NOx - Nitrous Oxides. Euro 6 legislation requires manufacturers to reduce NOx emissions by more than 50%, from the Euro 5 level of 180 mg / km to a very challenging target of 80 mg / km. At the high temperature during the explosive combustion process in the cylinder of a Diesel engine, N2 and O2 react to make NO. The combination of nitric oxide (NO) and any of its oxidised form nitrogen dioxide (NO2) is referred to as NOx. What Does It Do? Engine modifications could not alone meet the Euro 6 emission targets, so catalytic systems were introduced to control exhaust emissions. Some of the technologies used to reduce NOx are Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF) or Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve (EGR), which have now featured on both Passenger Vehicles and Commercial Vehicles for a number of years. However, because of the stringency of the reduction of NOx required, a technology called Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) will be introduced to Transit and Transit Custom. The SCR uses a high purity, 32.5% urea solution, commonly referred to as AdBlue, which is sprayed into the exhaust gas flow, causing a chemical reaction which breaks down the Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) into safe Nitrogen (N2) and water (H2O). The use of the AdBlue solution requires a specific tank, which in the case of Transit and Transit Custom is 21 litres. The tank comes pre-filled with 19-litres from the factory on both vehicles. It is important to note that the tank is already included on vehicles fitted with HDT6 engines, for example, the M2 Bus. This tank is projected to provide enough additive for around 6,000 miles of average use. 6

When the vehicle is running low on AdBlue, the customer will be provided with a warning on the Instrument Panel at the following intervals: 1st Warning 2nd Warning Upon Empty 1,500 miles to empty: A pop-up warning will appear in the Instrument Panel upon start-up. 500 miles to empty: A pop-up warning and audible chime will appear every 5 minutes of operation and an amber warning will appear at all times in the Instrument Panel. Upon empty, the vehicle will continue to operate until keyed off. For the vehicle to restart, the tank must then be topped up with a minimum 6.0 L of AdBlue solution. It should be noted that the vehicle won t start if the AdBlue tank is empty. To restart from empty, it requires a minimum of 6.0 L be added to the tank. It is therefore recommended that when topping up, customers purchase the 10 L bottle of AdBlue, rather than the 5 L option. The AdBlue tank can be refilled by the customer via pump delivery or by using plastic top up bottles, which are similar to those in which oil is commercially sold in. Top up bottles of AdBlue are widely available in petrol stations. Certain Fleet operators may also have large 1,000 L containers of AdBlue from which they will top up their vehicles. The nozzle / pump for the AdBlue is located directly under the Diesel nozzle / pump on both vehicles. The nozzle on the Diesel tank of both Transit and Transit Custom is equipped with Ford Easy-Fuel technology ensuring that when using pump delivery, miss-fuelling of AdBlue into the Diesel tank is not possible. There are some potential points that customers should be made aware of: AdBlue becomes corrosive when the water evaporates and crystals are formed, damaging paint and then steel. Any spills need to be thoroughly cleaned with plenty of water. Standard garage bottles have no spill proof mechanism. Overfilled tanks, when frozen, can damage internal components. 7

Customer Benefits Detailed below are the improved CO2 emissions, NOx emissions, and Fuel Economy figures, versus the outgoing engine, as well as a comparison between Euro 5 emissions requirements and Euro 6 emissions requirements: CO2 Emissions New 2.0 L Engine Outgoing 2.2 L Engine 163 g / km 192g / km New 2.0 L Engine (RWD) Outgoing 2.2 L Engine (RWD) 185 g / km 200 g / km Fuel Economy New 2.0 L Engine Outgoing 2.2 L Engine 44.8 mpg 39.2 mpg New 2.0 L Engine (RWD) Outgoing 2.2 L Engine (RWD) 39.8 mpg 37.2 mpg NOx Emissions Euro 5 Requirement Euro 6 Requirement M1 and N1 Ref. Mass* < 1,305 kg 180 mg / km 80 mg / km N1 Ref. Mass 1,305 < 1,760 kg 235 mg / km 105 mg / km N1 Ref. Mass >1,760 kg 280 mg / km 125 mg / km *The reference mass of a vehicle is defined as the kerb weight less the 75 kg driver allowance (EU Only), plus 100 kg. It is important to note that the above does not include Transits with HDT6 engines (e.g. M2 Bus) which already adhere to Euro 6 emission standards with the current 2.2 L engine. Advancements in technology on the new engines also mean that there have been performance improvements, and service interval increases which support improved Cost of Ownership. While the incoming engines have a decreased displacement from 2.2 litres to 2.0 litres, power and torque has increased across the range, as detailed below: Low Power Mid Power High Power Engine Range Change From To Difference 100 PS / 310 Nm 105 PS/ 360 Nm (+5 PS / +50 Nm) 125 PS /350 Nm 130 PS / 385 Nm (+5 PS / +35 Nm) 155 PS / 385 Nm 170 PS / 405 Nm (+15 PS / +20 Nm) Service intervals will increase from 30,000 miles to 36,000 miles (or two-years; depending on which comes first), which improves Cost of Ownership, especially in situations where an operator runs multiple vehicles or covers high mileage. It should be noted however that vehicles are subject to an interim check at 1-year or 18,000 miles, to protect the vehicle against potential damage between routine services. Key Takeaway The introduction of the next generation TDCi engines may draw objections from customers due to the need to refill the AdBlue tanks, but these objections can be addressed by highlighting the improvements made to performance and Cost of Ownership in Transit and Transit Custom, while also noting that the addition of an SCR tank equally applies to the competition as well. In addition to this, customers are becoming more aware of the benefits of improved NOx emissions and keeping a low Carbon Footprint, such as the reduction in tax due to lower CO2 emissions and the ability to access inner city areas with access restrictions as an air quality measure. 8

2.2 New Automatic Transmission What Is It? The addition of an automatic transmission increases our ability to target new niche market segments. In light of this, a 6-speed FWD automatic transmission will be an option for selected Transit and Transit Custom with the 130 PS or 170 PS TDCi engines from Q The automatic transmission will not be available on derivatives which retain the 2.2 L HDT6 engine. What Does It Do? The 6-speed automatic transmission provides smooth, quick, gear changes and also enables grade assist when it detects that the vehicle is travelling on roads with a steep gradient. The new automatic transmission features 3 core technologies: SelectShift Automatic Transmission SelectShift gives the customer the ability to manually change gears (if required) by simply moving the lever into M (Manual). Pressing (-) on the gearshift lever button manually changes down. Pressing (+) on the gearshift lever button manually changes up. Automatic Transmission Adaptive Learning This feature allows the transmission to adapt to suit the driving style of the vehicle operator. If the driver uses a light touch on the accelerator pedal, the transmission s electronic controls will adapt to those patterns by providing smoother shifts and changing to higher gears sooner. The adaptive transmission will also respond to a more aggressive driving style with harder shifts and quicker downshifts for faster acceleration. Progressive Range Selection (PRS) Progressive Range Selection (PRS) gives customers the ability to lockout gears from the automatic shifting range. This provides an improved driving experience (for example, in slippery conditions, when experiencing a steep gradient, or when towing). Pressing (-) with the gearshift lever in D (DRIVE) activates PRS. The available and selected gears are indicated on the Instrument Panel. Customer Benefits Automatic transmissions offer the customer an improvement in comfort and ease of use. This offers increased opportunities to Artisans with a preference for vehicles with automatic transmission for personal use. Automatic transmission is also particularly advantageous for drivers who spend significant amounts of time in traffic, make regular stops, or primarily operate in inner city environments such as taxi services and stop / start delivery operations. Key Takeaway The addition of an automatic transmission on Transit and Transit Custom mid to high powered derivatives not only offers an improvement in customer comfort, but also opens new sales segments such as Artisans with a preference for automatic vehicles for personal use, taxi services and stop / start delivery operations where use is primarily in inner cities. Digital tachograph is not available with automatic transmission. 9

2.3 Remarkable Technologies Driver Assistance Traffic Sign Recognition What is it? Traffic Sign Recognition identifies road signs and displays this information to the driver to help them drive legally. It is important to note however that Traffic Sign Recognition is not available on N2 or M2 vehicles as they are subject to alternative speed restrictions* What Does It Do? Customer Benefit Traffic Sign Recognition benefits the customer by not only informing them of the safe speed limit for the road environment they are travelling on, but also in helping them avoid any penalties they may be subject to for exceeding the speed limit. Key Takeaway Traffic Sign Recognition helps assist drivers by identifying speed limit signs and displaying an icon on the Instrument Panel should the vehicle change from one speed limit to another. Where SAT NAV is also specified, the system can provide the driver with the same information in the absence of road signs. The system utilises a forward-facing windscreen mounted camera to detect both fixed and temporary speed restrictions and displays an icon in the Instrument Panel should the vehicle change from one speed limit to another. In vehicles where a SAT NAV system has been specified, the traffic sign information can be merged with the speed limits stored in the map data. The system will provide the driver with speed limit information on roads where there are no clear signs. This provides the customer with even more comprehensive speed limit information. In addition to detecting speed limit signs, the system can also identify if the vehicle is entering a road where overtaking is prohibited, offering additional assistance to the driver. 10

2.3.2 Safety Pre-Collision Assist What Is It? Pre-Collision Assist uses information gathered using RADAR and a forward facing camera to help avoid or reduce the impact of low-speed traffic collisions. Follow Distance Indication Provides a continuous visual representation of the distance to the vehicle ahead, supporting the driver in maintaining an appropriate gap. Collision Alert provides an audio-visual warning to potential collision. Active Braking pre-charges the braking system in preparation for driver input. If the driver does not intervene, Active Braking automatically applies brakes to avoid or reduce the severity of an impact. The system adapts to the sensitivity settings of Collision Alert and has a minimum operation speed of 20 mph. The distance warning screen appears on the Instrument Panel and is shown on driver demand. Active Braking In situations that constitute a high risk of collision, Active Braking pre-fills the brake system to increase the sensitivity for a faster brake response, to enhance the driver demanded braking to the level required to try to avoid a collision. What Does It Do? Pre-Collision Assist is the combination of the following safety systems: Collision Alert Collision Alert provides an audio-visual warning in driving situations that constitute a high risk of collision. Collision Alert warns for moving and stationary vehicles and has a minimum operating speed of 5 mph. When the right conditions are met, the system also automatically applies the brakes when the driver is unresponsive to avoid or mitigate a collision. When approaching another vehicle, a maximum speed reduction of 25 mph is possible and the minimum operating speed is 5 mph. It is also important to note that if the driver accelerates very hard or takes evasive action (for example, to steer around the obstacle ahead), the system automatically de-activates as it is assumed that the driver is taking steps to avoid collision. This system features three driver-specified sensitivity settings. It is recommended however that it be set to the highest setting in normal operation. The lowest setting provides fewer warnings, and should only be selected if warnings are perceived as being too frequent or distracting. 11

Customer Benefit The most common traffic collisions occur at low speeds and in dense traffic, such as when a driver is looking at a road sign when approaching a junction and fails to notice queuing traffic ahead of them. This is just the type of incident Pre- Collision Assist can help to avoid, which can save the customer significant repair bills and insurance premiums. Key Takeaways When a vehicle equipped with Pre-Collision Assist is travelling at a maximum of 20 mph quicker than the vehicle ahead of it, at regular road conditions, the system is able to reduce the speed significantly enough to avoid collision altogether. When the difference in speed between the two vehicles is greater than 20 mph or the road conditions are less optimal, the collision won t be avoided, but will have a reduced impact. Pre-Collision Assist can help a driver avoid low speed collisions, like those which often occur in dense traffic, such as when the driver is looking at a road sign and isn t aware of an upcoming vehicle Side Wind Stabilisation What Is It? Side Wind Stabilisation is a system that assists the driver in maintaining the vehicle s direction when subjected to strong cross winds or turbulence. What Does It Do? The system recognises side winds and utilises the Electronic Stability Control system s sensors. It comes into effect at speeds in excess of 43 mph and controls the vehicle s direction by selectively applying the brakes on the windward side of the vehicle. Customer Benefit The benefit of Side Wind Stabilisation is that is helps the driver try to maintain control of the vehicle even in severe conditions. Side Wind Stabilisation is particularly beneficial to high sided vehicles, which are more susceptible to dangerous side winds. Key Takeaway Side Wind Stabilisation is a key feature, especially when the customer has specified a high sided vehicle, which is more susceptible to high winds. 12

3 Transit Custom Specific Features This section covers features which are unique to the new Transit Custom. 3.1 Remarkable Technologies Ford SYNC 1.1 What Is It? Ford SYNC 1.1 is retained on Transit Custom and further improvements have been made to the system with the size of the Multi-Functional Display (MFD) colour screen boosted from 3.5 inches to 4 inches. What Does It Do? Ford SYNC 1.1 offers the following functionality: Feature Emergency Assistance Phone Book Access* Voice Control Text Reader* AppLink Song and Device Indexing Description Automatically calls the emergency services in the event of an accident. Allows the customer to access the contacts in their phonebook to make Bluetooth calls. Allows the driver to control the phone, auxiliary, CD and radio functions using voice recognition. Reads texts received on a paired phone aloud to the driver. Provides Voice Control access to selected apps such as Spotify. Offers easy navigation of audio content stored on a connected mobile device. 9 Languages Supports the use of 9 different languages. *Please visit the Ford website for a list featuring smartphone compatibility. Customer Benefit The key benefit of Ford SYNC 1.1 to the Commercial Vehicle user is the ability to stay connected to their customers or business contacts when on the move, without compromising on safety Adaptive Cruise Control with Forward Alert What Is It? Adaptive Cruise Control with Forward Alert (ACC) is now available on Transit and Transit Custom, bundled in a pack with Pre-Collision Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition and Lane Keeping Alert**. ACC is a highly sophisticated cruise control system that helps to maintain a pre-set cruising speed and distance from the vehicle in front. When the system senses a vehicle ahead, it decelerates automatically to keep the pre-set distance, and accelerates back to the pre-set cruising speed once the road is clear again. **Lane Keeping Alert can be specified outside the bundle. What Does It Do? If the road ahead of the vehicle is clear, the system functions like standard cruise control, maintaining a speed specified by the driver. Using a forward facing RADAR sensor, the system monitors the road and, should it detect a vehicle ahead, it releases the throttle to avoid collision. At this point the vehicle maintains a constant time gap (or distance at a specified speed) to the vehicle in front. The maximum acceleration and deceleration is within an interval of around + / -3 m / s2, which enables mild, convoy-typical, changes of speed. When the gap ahead falls below a critical distance, a visual and audible warning is activated. Additionally, the brake system is pre-tensioned to give the driver the best possible brake performance, if required. Should a potential collision look like it will occur, the system utilises Pre-Collision Assist to avoid or reduce the severity of an impact. Key Takeaway Mobile connectivity has become a key requirement of Commercial Vehicle users, so should you need to learn more about this and the other Ford SYNC technologies, please access the specific elearning modules. 16

Customer Benefit Adaptive Cruise Control with Forward Alert helps to ensure that the customer s vehicle is maintaining a safe distance when cruising. It also offers improved comfort and ease of use by reducing instances when the driver has to brake or accelerate. Depending on the individual s driving style, the system can also provide improved Fuel Economy. This is achieved by, wherever possible, utilising engine braking for smooth speed changes rather than applying the brakes and then applying more throttle to regain speed. Key Takeaway Adaptive Cruise Control with Forward Alert is a highly sophisticated feature which offers huge benefits to customers who cover a significant amount of motorway miles, ensuring they can travel at a safe and steady speed throughout their journey Roll Stability Control What Is It? Roll Stability Control helps reduce the possibility of vehicle roll-over by sensing the vehicle s instability and adjusting both engine torque and individual wheel braking to correct oversteer and stabilise the situation. What Does It Do? By monitoring vehicle s speed, lateral acceleration, yaw motion and steering angle, the system detects any significant body roll or a critical manoeuvre potentially leading to roll over. Roll Stability Control then utilises Electronic Stability Control to brake individual wheels and adjust the throttle to bring the vehicle under control. This helps the driver keep control if they have to turn sharply at speed to avoid an obstacle. Customer Benefit Roll Stability Control offers a significant safety improvement to the Commercial Vehicle user by allowing them to avoid potentially dangerous situations which may cause rollovers. Key Takeaway Roll Stability Control is a key safety feature in ensuring that the driver can maintain control of the vehicle when making critical manoeuvres, the benefits of which are increased when the vehicle is laden with a heavy load and subject to increased body roll New Rear Air-Suspension What Is It? Transit Custom now benefits from the option of air-suspension on the rear axle of Kombi M1 and Tourneo Custom derivatives. What Does It Do? The dampening level of the suspension adjusts to maintain a consistent ride height and provide improved comfort for rear passengers. In instances where few passengers are being carried, the suspension will become softer to absorb bumps and undulations when the vehicle is fully laden with passengers, the suspension becomes stiffer to maximise stability. In all conditions, the vehicle ride height remains the same for aesthetic purposes, to ensure speed bumps and obstacles can be negotiated and to maintain a consistent loading height. Customer Benefit The addition of rear air suspension ensures passengers in the rear of Transit Custom and Tourneo Custom will receive the most comfortable ride achievable by reducing harsh bumps or avoiding excessive body roll when on the move. Key Takeaway In addition to the increase in passenger comfort, the rear air-suspension also helps to reduce body roll when the Transit Custom and Tourneo Custom is fully laden, thus improving stability. 17

3.2 Transit Custom Competitive Market Transit Custom vs. Competition This section compares Transit Custom with Mercedes Vito and Transporter, who have released information on their Euro 6 engines. The second phase of this document will feature further competitor information when it has been made available. Please Note: The information contained in this document refers only to those direct competitors to Transit Custom. Fuel Economy and CO2 Emissions are for Transit Custom. Competitor values are for nearest comparable vehicle based on published data. With regard to load volume there may be differences between our calculated data and the published data because: Manufacturers employ different approaches, systems, standards and measurement parameters to measure load cube and load length data, within constraints of the SAE, VDA guidelines or proprietary system. Load cube in manufacturers brochures is a useful comparison across individual manufacturers products. It is a less useful means to compare across different manufacturers. In the loadspace tables below, we have provided the manufacturers published data only. Engines and Transmissions Overview Transit Custom is now equipped with the Euro 6 compliant next generation TDCi engine, delivering improved levels of power, torque and Fuel Economy whist achieving reduced emissions levels. Mercedes Vito Torque, Fuel Economy and CO2 emissions are comparable across the range when comparing similar engines in the two vehicles. The TDCi engine in Transit Custom delivers a comparable performance to the Mercedes engine, despite the fact it has a smaller displacement of 1,996 cc against 2,143 cc. This extra efficiency helps to contribute to an overall weight saving in Transit. Mercedes Vito is available in FWD, RWD and AWD whereas Transit Custom is available in FWD. Transporter The Euro 6 compliant 102 PS Transporter features an AdBlue tank of just 13 litres when compared to the 21 litres tank in Transit Custom, meaning the customer is likely to require more regular refills. Transit Custom, when equipped with the 105 PS engine, delivers almost 50% more torque than the Transporter with an equivalent 102 PS engine. The 102 PS Transporter has a marginal fuel and emissions advantage over Transit Custom. It is therefore important to carry out real world comparisons with the competitor vehicle wherever possible to ensure a like-for-like evaluation. 18

Loadspace, Weights and Payload Overview Transit Custom features an excellent maximum payload figure of 1474 kg, which is up to 274 kg greater than its competitors. In addition to this, the range of load lengths and heights, all with an extraordinary load width, mean Transit Custom boasts exceptional load capacity and versatility. Mercedes Vito Whereas Transit Custom is available in two lengths and two heights, Mercedes Vito has three lengths and only one roof height, with the additional length longer than Transit L1, but shorter than Transit L2. When comparing like for like body sizes, the two vehicles have very similar load volumes. However, the addition of a high roof option on Transit Custom means there is a clear 1.4 m3 maximum volume advantage when considering the load capability of the whole range*. As the load volumes would suggest, the internal dimensions are very similar, but the Load-Through Bulkhead feature adds 530 mm of length to Transit Custom as opposed to just 370 mm on Mercedes Vito. Transit Custom has a maximum payload figure of 1474 kg, which represents a 274 kg advantage compared to the 1200 kg figure of Mercedes Vito that s more than five 50 kg bags of cement. Transporter Transporter is available in three roof height options, as opposed to the choice of two available on Transit Custom. The H1 measurements of the two vehicles are comparable, but the H2 for Transit Custom sits in between the H2 and H3 measurements of Transporter. When comparing like for like body sizes, both vehicles have similar load volumes, but the extra H3 option on Transporter does mean that that largest volume in the range is 1 m3 larger than Transit Custom*. 28 4 Transit Specific Features This section covers features which are unique to the new Transit. 4.1 Heavy Truck Euro 6 Engines Heavy Trucks with a maximum laden mass of over 3,500 kg are subject to separate emissions legislations to Light Goods Vehicles (N1 / M1), with Euro 6 already being introduced in December The legislation relating to heavy duty engines is defined by the amount of emissions per energy output (g / kwh) rather than emissions per distance (g / km). This means the emissions of Large Goods Vehicles (N2 / M2) cannot be compared to those of Light Commercial Vehicles (N1 / M1). Due to the above, Transit 2.2 L HDT6 engines with 125 PS and 155 PS outputs are already Euro 6 compliant and will be retained on vehicles where the reference mass* exceeds 2,610 kg. *The reference mass of a vehicle is defined as the kerb weight less the 75 kg driver allowance (EU Only), plus 100 kg. Key Takeaway All M2 Bus models will retain the 2.2 L HDT6 engines with 125 PS and 155 PS where the reference mass exceeds 2,610 kg. 4.2 Remarkable Technologies Ford SYNC 2 What Is It? Transit will now come equipped with Ford SYNC 2 when SAT NAV is specified by the customer and will feature an upgraded 6 SAT NAV touch screen. Ford SYNC 2 will be replaced by Ford SYNC 3 in Q4, What Does It Do? When Ford SYNC 2 is specified, customers will benefit from the following improvements to Ford SYNC 1.1: Feature Touchscreen Michelin Guide Voice Control Description Allows the driver to navigate the functions by touching the screen directly. Gives access to POI s as covered in the Michelin Guide. Ability to control Radio/CD, Climate Control and Navigation via voice recognition. The introduction of Ford SYNC 3 in Q4, 2016 will enhance the customer experience by adding these additional features: Feature Description Pinch Zoom A multi-touch touchscreen allows the user to zoom via pinch. This is particularly useful when checking map data, as it allows the user to zoom in and out when needed. Android Auto / Apple Provides improved connectivity for Carplay* Android and Apple devices using their own software interfaces. New Human Machine An improved user interface with new Interface (HMI) screen look and style. 12 Languages Support of 3 additional languages. *Please visit the Ford website for a list featuring smartphone compatibility. Should you wish to learn more, please access the Ford SYNC 2 and Ford SYNC 3 elearning. Key Takeaway In the short term, Transit customers will benefit from the additional features available to them by having Ford SYNC 2, but the functionality will be further enhanced with the launch of Ford SYNC 3 in Q

4.3 Transit Competitive Market This section compares Transit with Mercedes Sprinter, Crafter and Iveco Daily who have released information on their Euro 6 engines. The second phase of this document will feature further competitor information when it has been made available. Please Note: The information contained in this document refers only to those direct competitors to Transit. Fuel Economy and CO2 Emissions are for Transit. It is therefore important to carry out real world comparisons with the competitor vehicle wherever possible to ensure a like-for-like evaluation. Transit vs. Competition Engines and Transmissions Overview Transit is now equipped with the Euro 6 compliant next generation TDCi engine, delivering improved levels of power, torque and Fuel Economy whist also achieving reduced emissions levels. Mercedes Sprinter Despite the smaller engine displacement, Transit is able to produce comparable levels of torque and power to the Mercedes Sprinter. In fact, the 105 PS Transit engine delivers up to 15% more torque than its equivalent. When it comes to Fuel Economy, the two vehicles deliver very similar performance. However, customers requiring the highest power engines will find that Transit delivers a saving of approximately 25% in Fuel Economy. Mercedes Sprinter is only available in a RWD or 4WD drivetrain layout, whereas the L2 and L3 Transits are available in FWD, RWD and AWD. Crafter Crafter is currently only available with two Euro 6 compliant engines, although this will be updated if future changes become available. The performance of Transit and Crafter are very similar when comparing like for like engines, although Transit does have a slight advantage when it comes to torque, Fuel Economy and emissions. Crafter is only available in a RWD drivetrain layout, whereas the L2 and L3 Transits are available in FWD, RWD and AWD*. Iveco Daily Iveco Daily does not feature an engine comparable to the 105 PS Transit engine, meaning customers will have to specify a larger and less economical 3,000 cc engine. Despite the smaller engine displacement, Transit is able to produce comparable levels of torque and power to Iveco Daily, whilst having a small advantage in Fuel Economy and emissions. Iveco Daily is only available in a RWD drivetrain layout, whereas the L2 and L3 Transits are available in FWD, RWD, and AWD. 29

Loadspace, Weights and Payload Overview Transit is available in a range of length, height and payload derivatives providing customers with a versatile offering to suit their specific needs. Mercedes Sprinter Sprinter is available in four lengths and three roof height options, as opposed to the choice of three lengths and two roof heights available on Transit, with the additions being a longer length and extra tall height. For the L2 variations, Transit is slightly longer and taller than Sprinter meaning it has up 25% more load volume whilst maintaining an almost identical payload. When comparing the L3 versions, Transit has a slight advantage in length and height, resulting in a load volume advantage of approximately 1 m3. The dimensions of the L4 versions are also comparable, with Mercedes Sprinter only slightly larger when comparing load volumes. For vehicles with a GVM at 3,500 kg, the payload capability is comparable at all variations of length and height. Crafter When comparing like for like body sizes, Transit has a load volume advantage over Crafter of up to 2.2 m3, depending on which length or height is specified. Whilst Transit has a nearly identical loadspace width; the length and height measurements of both the L2 and L3 versions are larger than Crafter. However, the L4 Crafter does have a slightly longer and taller loadspace capacity than Transit. For vehicles with a GVM at 3,500 kg, the payload capability is comparable at all variations of length and height. Iveco Daily Iveco Daily is available with an extra-long length option and low level roof height, however it is not available in a size comparable to Transit L4 derivative. When comparing more popular L2 and L3 vehicles, Transit and Iveco Daily have comparable dimensions and load volumes. Historically, Iveco Daily has been a vehicle targeted at HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) customers looking for vehicles with a GVM of over 3,500 kg and large payload capabilities. As such, it has a maximum GVM of 7,000 kg compared to 4,700 kg for Transit. Crafter is available in three lengths and three roof height options, as opposed to the choice of three lengths and two roof heights available on Transit. 37 Technology Features Overview Transit features excellent technologies such as Traffic Sign Recognition, Adaptive Cruise Control with Forward Alert and safety systems such as Curve Control and Torque Vectoring Control. Optional security features such as Anti-Tamper Shielding on Door Lock Latches are also unique to Transit. Transit also uniquely features Ford Easy-Fuel which can help prevent accidentally filling the Diesel tank with Petrol and AdBlue when filling it via pump delivery. Mercedes Sprinter Mercedes Sprinter features a range of safety systems, but is not equipped with some of the stability improving technologies of Transit including Curve Control, Torque Vectoring Control and Roll Stability Control. Sprinter however can be equipped with Blind Spot Assist and Brake Disc Wipe, a system which applies light brake pressure in wet weather to clear moisture from the brake disc and improve brake response. From a driver assistance perspective, Mercedes Sprinter is missing certain advanced systems such as Traffic Sign Recognition, Adaptive Cruise Control with Forward Alert that can be found on Transit. Mercedes Sprinter features a large 5.8 screen, although it is not controlled by touch. Mercedes Sprinter also lacks any Voice Control or AppLink technology that can be found on Transit. When it comes to security, Mercedes Sprinter is not equipped with optional Anti-Tamper Shielding on Door Lock Latches. Crafter Despite having a range of safety systems and equipment, Crafter still lacks certain stability improving systems such as Curve Control, Torque Vectoring Control and Side Wind Stabilisation. From a driver assistance perspective, Crafter is not equipped with Traffic Sign Recognition, any Pre- Collision Assist Technologies, Acceleration Control, Adaptive Cruise Control with Forward Alert, Lane Keeping Alert or Driver Alert. Crafter is available with a 5.8 touch screen, but only when SAT NAV is specified and it doesn t feature Voice Control or AppLink. Iveco Daily Iveco Daily comes equipped with a very basic level of safety equipment with only Electronic Stability Control, ABS and a Hill Holding function available. From a driver assistance perspective, Cruise Control is available as an option, but it does not include an Adjustable Speed Limiting Device. Lane Keeping Alert is also available as an option on Iveco Daily. Three levels of infotainment system are available on Iveco Daily, with the top of the range version featuring a 7 touch screen and SAT NAV, although it does not include Voice Control or AppLink. Iveco Daily cannot be specified with Automatic Rain-Sensing Wipers but is available with Automatic Climate Control. 37
