The basis of this engine has been provided by AMG as part of our ongoing relationship. Aston Martin Engineers have worked tirelessly to ensure that this engine maintains the unique AML character and feel that Aston Martin are renowned for Engine Speed (rpm) Aston Martin position this impressive V8 engine much lower in the vehicle than AMG, which lowers the centre of gravity, improves weight distribution and contributes to improved driving dynamics. The lower position of the 4-litre V8 engine is achieved through new engine mounts and a lower, slimmer wet sump. With this bespoke new wet sump design, AML have achieved an improved engine parasitic loss figure, which improves fuel economy. (Current estimate ~28.5 mpg, this is still undergoing full testing and so will not be confirmed until this has been completed and verified.) The below measures have been taken to ensure the new high performance 4-litre V8 Bi-Turbo engine provides customers with the all-important Aston Martin feel : Using AML air intakes that are unique to the DB11 (V8) Coupé AML Exhaust System AML ECU Software (Bosch) AML Engine and Throttle Mapping Software AML bespoke wet sump Thorough mapping of the engine sound to fit AML criteria All of these factors contribute to ensuring the new DB11 (V8) Coupé feels and drives like a true Aston Martin Grand Tourer. * - CO2 figure is currently an estimate however will be confirmed once testing is verified. The Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) System is a safety feature that is designed to aid the driver in assessing whether a vehicle is in an area to either side on the vehicle, extending rearward from the side mirrors (Fig. 1 &2). The feature is designed so that an alert is communicated to the driver only when a target vehicle is overtaking the host vehicle or in the vehicles blind spot (Fig. 4). A secondary warning system aids the driver in assessing whether a vehicle is in or entering the detection zone (Fig. 4) during a lane change manoeuvre. The driver will be alerted in the form of an amber LED which is located in the outboard edge of each wing mirror. (Fig 3) The LED will be a solid light if there is a vehicle over taking or its the blind spot, should the driver indicate, the LED will flash with an audible warning. The system can be deactivated if required by selecting: *Settings > Drive Assist > Blind Spot Assist > Press OK to Deactivate * (Fig 5) Blind Spot Monitoring will be an optional feature across both the V12 and V8 derivatives as of 18.5MY Option Code - BSA1

This service was launched on DB11 (V12) after the Launch/ CEO Edition cars were completed, and we will continue to offer a Q Commission on Aston Martin DB11 (V12) enquiries going forward. We will however not be building any Q Commission DB11 (V8) during the launch phase of this programme and therefore any Q Commission DB11 (V8) orders will not be passed-to-sales before January We welcome your enquires and will endeavour to support your customers exciting requests, however a Q commission for a DV11 (V8) will not be released into the build until after the Launch period.

The Q Trim Split introduces flashes of contrast colour on the doors, seats and parcel shelf.
