Twin piston pulse unit High power and excellent durability The pulse mechanism of the ErgoPulse shut-off tools is de signed for maximum torque generation and energy transfer. The unique camshaft, the guided pistons and the durable rollers are immersed in oil, ensuring no wear and long service life. Inertia shut-off system Reliable and fast The unique inertia shut-off system allows the tool to tighten at maximum speed and power until final torque is reached. Twin chamber motor Delivering high torque The twin chamber vane motor is designed to generate high torque at low speed the best characteristics for fast tightenings. AutoTrim automati cally reduces the rundown speed avoiding torque scatter on mixed joints. When the snug level is reached, full speed and power ensures minimum tightening time. (The result is fast tightenings and great torque consistency on mixed joint conditions). With the StandardTrim valve the tool s speed and power is manually adjustable to fit a specific joint and is suitable for extreme joint conditions, such as very hard or very soft joints. 8 ERGOPULSE CUTS ASSEMBLY TIME BY HALF Ruthmann, Germany For more than 50 years, Ruthmann in Hochmoor, Germany, has produced truck-mounted platforms with a focus on quality. For the assembly of the turntable the connective link between wheels and hoist Ruthmann has tested a number of assembly tools. Pneumatic impact wrenches were too noisy and inaccurate, electric impact wrenches were faster but too big and inaccurate. The electric tools were recently replaced with ErgoPulse tools, one EP12PTS and one EP14PTS, that perfectly meet the tolerance requirements. Industry foreman Johannes Thesing was amazed by the advantages pro vided by the Ergo Pulse tools. We are impressed by the essen tially faster, more accurate, lightweight and quieter EP tools without reaction force, explains Thesing. Each turntable is assembled with 40 to 80 joints that reach torques of up to 240 Nm. The investment in a new compressed air device to run the tools was easily justified. By eliminating the need to retorque with a torque wrench, spot checks are now sufficient and assem bly is made in half the time.

9 USE IT RIGHT The tool you choose for a given application and how you use it will make a significant difference in the success you achieve and the long evity of the tool. If your operators need to speed up production with fast rundowns and short tightening cycles, the ErgoPulse PTX shut-off tool is the ideal choice. Generally, consider the following rules: For very hard joints, use the higher end of the tools torque range. Select, for example, an ErgoPulse Pulsor 8 C55 for a 50 Nm appli ca tion rather than an ErgoPulse Pulsor 10 C90 Always make sure you identify the right tool for the task at hand. For example, if your operators need to control the process or the tightening, they will benefit from XS, a non shut-off pulse tool pulses is preferred to achieve perfect tightening conditions For very soft joints, use the lower end of the tools torque range. Select, for example, an ErgoPulse Pulsor 8 C55 for a 35 Nm application rather an ErgoPulse Pulsor 6 C40 At least 5 pulses and not more than 3 seconds tightening time Use good sockets and extensions, preferably guided sockets Control the air pressure to get better consistency. Use an air pressure regulator Always check static torque if the conditions are changed
